I said yes to my prom dress at Buffies! AND I had an absolutely wonderful time doing it! When my family and I first walked in on a busy Saturday afternoon, we were immediately greeted by everyone, despite being busy with other things. They apologized for the wait, and I got to browse the store while they were finishing up. Buffie, the owner who ultimately ended up working with me was finishing up with another customer. So instead of making me wait longer, she asked someone else to help me get started while she finished up. My family sat on the couch in a little viewing section while Jordan the stylist took me around and helped me pick out my first few dresses. When Buffie was able to join me, she looked at the pictures that I had saved as ideas and she picked up a few more and showed me what was in stock and what was already registered for my school. I had a great experience shopping for my dress. The idea of it had been overwhelming at first, and I was so nervous about it. There are so many different styles and so much to choose from! But based on the very vague ideas I had in my head about what I wanted, Buffie and Jordan were able to pick out dresses I really loved. They made me feel so much more at ease and less anxious about shopping for a dress. I ended up trying on eight dresses, with the seventh one being my perfect dress. They have a rule to only try on three at a time so others can have a turn. The room area gets crowded with familes so they have a specific area for families which I appreciated because I was overwhelmed with all of the people that were in the building. I am glad they put the guest on the other side while i tried on. I still wanted to try on the last one because it was already in the dressing room for me, and I thought I might as well because you never know. And even through Buffie already knew my choice, she let me go ahead and try it on anyway. After putting on that last dress, I knew which one I wanted. Buffie let me put it back on, and when I did, I didn't want to take it off! She let me stand there in the mirror for a while. My family was allowed to take pictures of me in every dress I tried. It was such an amazing experience that I almost wish I hadn't found my dress simply so I could do it again! I chose a dress that I never thought I would have loved so much, and it's all because of Buffie and Jordan's ability and experience. They knew exactly what I wanted even though I didn't! When you walk in, you are greeted and spoken to so kindly. They let you browse around to find a few you like. If you show them the style or color you are looking for they will pull some for you and it's always those dresses that you end buying and falling in love with. The atmosphere is easy going and natural and you don't feel awkward like I've felt before at other formal places. There's so many great things I can say about Buffie (the owner) as a person and friend but I don't have enough room on here. She will keep up with you and your adventures from the very first time you buy a prom dress and even if you leave empty handed but that rarely happens because she can stay within the budget you may choose.Thank you Buffie's and all of the staff I have met during the years. Buffie and her crew made my first experience so easy and so much fun over 10 years ago!! Fast forward 10 years and I'm still buying EVERY single formal dress here. I am now part of the team during seasonal times when I can help out because that's how much I love this place!!! The variety of styles, colors, and sizes are impressive. I'm a plus size girl and she doesn't discriminate when it comes to me finding the dress of my dreams every time. All of Buffie's staff pays attention to detail and listenes to my wants and needs. This experience 10 years ago was amazing and is still hands down the best customer service I receive from any shop. Not only did she execute exactly what I'd hoped for, she has such a deep understanding of what looks best for your body type and how to hide any imperfections...she lifted the areas that mattered and smoothed others.
