She knows when she comes here we have to go and she gets something. Of course this time she got a bunny. She also chooses at outfit. This time was Cinderella dress and she named her bunny Cinderella. You get a birth certificate for your stuffed animal as well. Then you get to stuff your animal and you can give it a heart and a sound if you choose. There a tons of accessories to buy as well. While visiting this mall with my lil. We walked across this build a bear shop. I've never visited this store in the past and asked my daughter if she wanted to try a build. She spent a decent amount of time trying to figure out the perfect partner and came across the special edition black lab. She really enjoyed the customizations and all the fun outfits the bears got to choose from. The process is fun and my daughter really loved that she got to put the heart and pick the sound of her new snuggle bear. The bear was paid for in the party we reserved, and they did not give any credit or refund. We expect store credit. Compact: Great place to make a personalized gift for child or adult. Great place to bring children to make their own gift. This gift will cost you some bucks though so be aware. Expanded: Have a sports fanatic in your life? Want to get them something cute? This could be the place. Or make a ballerina bear for a young dancer in your life. Perfect valentines gift. Not only bears available either. Some ninja turtles. Ponys. You can buy a premade/predressed stuffed animal as well. Or come have your party here. The kids can make a bear and have a great time with age appropriate games etc. This place KNOWS HOW TO DO A PARTY. From 5-15 I imagine all will be happy. They have a process for different ages, and can handle both boys and girls. If you need "non traditional hours" call them, they can probably work with you on that too. I don't like naked construction workers. In other words, I'd never want to see a Builder Bare. However this store is my exception. I was in the B-A-B workshop over Xmas, and I got someone a bear! It was my first time buying a toy from here and she absolutely adored it. The employees were wonderful, the product was fantastic, and the girl who gave me advice was ridiculously sweet. I don't think she had a crush on me, maybe in my own mind she did. Anyway, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Only the high prices cause them to not be 5 stars. And of course, it's a chain. It's soooooooooo cute. I mean, how cute is the concept of Build-A-Bear anyway? It's one of those things that only girls and gay guys should really love, and yet I love it more than any girl or gay guy I know. So I'm probably a girl living in a gay guy's body. No wonder I love getting it on with Alex, my CM, and Alex K too for that matter, so very much. Seriously though, although they lose 1 star for being a chain and for high prices, I have to give them a four because I just can't get over how adorable these bears are, and the whole concept is. There really is magic here. I've been looking at but never went into a Build-A-Bear for a decade now, since seeing one in the Providence Place mall. That recently changed upon seeing Kylo Ren bear now available AND they are currently offering 2 for $45 on certain bears. So with a little a courage in the form of my friend wanting to take advantage and make a Boba Fett bear we ventured in before seeing Doctor Strange. The staff made no attempt to make us feel awkward or uncomfortable and didnt try to make it too kiddie-ish for us. I selected the Darth Vader and Kylo Ren bears and awaited my turn. I was caught off guard by how magical and mystical it felt. For $5 you can add a sound to your bear at the machine by the stuffing station and I was astounded when after selecting the sound on the touch screen the attendant simply places a blank pod on the scanner and it programs it!?!?! Once in place in the paw you get to assist in the stuffing by controlling the pedal that pushes the stuffing into the bear while the attendant fills the bear for you. Once stuffed you go through the ceremony to bring your bear to life by placing a heart inside your bear. (For an extra $5 each you can add a beating heart or scent). With the heart placed and the back sewn up you are on your way to wander the back of the store to pick out clothing, accessories, etc. Since my bears are the fully formed versions of the characters I didnt need to buy costumes but bought them each a light saber that lights up and makes noises. When done make sure to register your bear and get their birth certificate. My only caveat to this is..... EXPENSIVE. Although I got a good deal on my two bears, the light sabers were $12 each so if you're bringing the kids here be ready. read more

Been to Galleria location many times over the years, as far back as the opening. I cant count the number of bears/critters I've made or helped make for others, even re-stuffed a couple of rescues (the staff loved that). Different events in life, holidays or just because, there's a BAB for that, or an outfit to make it special. We did a lullaby sound make for one of ours, the baby loves it! our most recent was a pair of rainbow dotted leopards for my daughters, as my oldest had just lost her mom and the world had gone sideways. Her and my 13 mth old has been in a deep bond for weeks and the "sister" cats have been a special connection for them. Another great bear was given to my sister's boyfriend after he had surgery to repair his heart. It was stuffed to be held when deep breathing and coughing, but also to be a get well companion. One of my kids favorite places! The people that work here are amazingly friendly and great with kids!!! Great places to the kids for a job well done on a report card, for a birthday or whatever! I do recommend having the child with you though bc it is all about the experience! The kids first pick their animal, then a heart to stuff inside and they make a super cute big deal about the stuff of the heart! The kids help put the stuffing in the bear and can pick a sent or a beating heart or a sound card to put in. They tie the bear up for.you and direct you to a bath tub area to scrub up the bear. Theres a ton of accessories to try from for the stuffed animals. Honestly thats where it starts to get expensive. Unless we have a coupon we skip this part. Then you make a birth certificate for the animal!!! The bears finally get a little card board house to go home in and color. If you are getting this for a gift I encourage and recommend that you dont have the abimal stuffed so the child can take it and get the experience. This associate was upbeat, a great up seller (not great for my charge card :0) but excellent for business). The staff is trained incredibly well and you felt as if they really do love working for Build A Bear and with children. The bears are moderately priced. Where do they get you, the accessories. I took my 2 year old granddaughter there for her first time. She was a little overwhelmed at first. An employee named Kayleigh helped us out. She couldn't have been nicer! I'm going back with my other granddaughter next week. I think the price of the bear is fare but watch out for all those accessories, they add up fast. I buy clothes/shoes for my grandkids cheaper than I did for the bear. Want a scent stuffed inside? Extra! Want a sound? Extra! Of course we did both.
