One of the farm's largest horses!

I love Kelkenberg Farm! My kids have had a number of school field trips here over the years, and it's been a great experience every time. Our field trips include a hay ride, an educational tour of the farm, and a pony ride. The hayride was great and took us around a large section of the farm, lasting 15 minutes or so. We were joined by a couple of the resident dogs who trotted alongside our tractors and became a bit of an attraction themselves, darting off every now and again to chase each other or swim in a nearby pond. Ann Marie was our guide and did such a great job with our 6-7 y.o. group. She was able to share so much information with the kids, holding their attention, and keeping them engaged throughout. With so many different areas of the farm to visit and learn about, you might expect it'd be a zoo, but neigh, Kelkenberg Farm is a well-oiled machine that moves all of the groups around so well. There is a great petting area towards the end of the tour, where the students have the chance to milk a goat and pet lambs, kids, and a chick. We also had the opportunity to pet a long-haired rabbit, baby bunny, and pony along the tour. I highly recommend you stop into the farm's store before you leave. They sell so many local, handmade goodies along with farm-fresh eggs, of course. You shouldn't leave here without a dozen, in my humble opinion. (The cooler wasn't working today, so the cold items were being stored in the back. Be sure to ask an employee, if you don't see the cold items on display so you don't go home without your eggs!!) Unfortunately, we couldn't make use of the bounce pad today, as our group was a bit too large. (If you're not sure what a bounce pad is, think large bouncy house, but without any walls or a roof.) Now would be a great time to plan your visit, as there are so many baby animals in spring. This particular trip was especially bittersweet, as it'll likely be our last school field trip here, but Kelkenberg is certainly a place where our family has made so many memories and I hope it becomes that for you, too!

This place is pure magic! Tickets are $12/person but I get the seasonal pass and have gone 2-3x/week with my 2 year old. Staff is willing to answer all your questions and are sweet as can be. Their is a TON to do for my toddler, it never Gets boring. Hungry? They have hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage, and tater tots on the grill. Frozen lemonades, and soft serve ice cream, even coffee! Don't leave without a bag of their kettle corn that they make right their on the farm. I took my mom here when she came up to visit and she fell in love also. It's impossible not to!

Huge thank you's for giving families something to do during social isolation! It was just lovely! A Sunday drive to look at animals in the country really helped lift my spirits! It was free, and they handed out free donuts (from a bucket and a pole. I put a few bucks in the bucket. It wasn't asked for or suggested. I just appreciated the hospitality.

I went with my family for Mother's Day. We had the greatest experience and I would go back in a jiffy! The admission cost is around $8 per person over the age of 2 and includes all access to the farm, hay rides, and pony rides. We got to interact with horses, donkeys, sheep, baby lambs, goats, dogs, kittens, and rabbits! Honestly forget about the kids having fun(which they did) I had the MOST fun! The staff was all very friendly and knowledgeable: you could tell they cared for the farm and the animals very well. There was a little shop with different baked goods and farm items to purchase. We grabbed some of grandmas chocolate chips and they were great. Highly recommend as an experience for adults or kids or anyone in-between! Not sure what their hours are but you can look them up.

If you are allergic to bees, this may not be the place for you!

I seen their post on Facebook that they have a sunflower field, and many activities on their farm for the family to enjoy so I made a reservation this past weekend for a time slot (helped to reduce crowding and allow for social distancing). When we arrived I gave them my name and they gave us each a stamp on our hand to prove we paid admission ($9 per person). When we went to the livestock barn there were baby cows, many rabbits, pigs, ram, donkey, sheep, miniature horse, BIG horses, ponies, chickens, goats, and a few more. They allowed the children to interact with them and pet them it was so cool! Included in the price was a pony ride (if you are under 100 pounds) and my daughter loved it. You got to take 2 laps around. They have a bounce pad for $4 but it's for the whole day. It didn't have a roof on it so the kids weren't too hot which was nice. They sell local honey, fresh corn, apples, home made baked goods like cookies and pies. For $9 they have a combo for lunch where you get a lemonade slushee, sahlens hot dog, and grilled corn cob. It was so yummy! They had a sign that in September of this year they would start selling fresh beef also. As far as the sunflower patch you can purchase a "u-pick" we paid $6 to pick 5 sunflowers. They give you a hay ride over to the sunflower patch which across the street kind of- it was a nice shady ride on the hot day. They have a bucket of scissors and you just go and cut your own. Many excellent photo opportunities there!!! It seems like they have pumpkins available in the fall so we will definitely be returning! I cannot post much of the photos I took at the farm because my families faces are in them but here is a pic from the hay ride looking at the sunflower patch

This place is incredible- I was a little biased going in due to some good kindergarten field trip memories (30 years ago) but it was far better than I remember or expected. You get a time slot online- it's $9/person and you check in with some super friendly girls at the entrance. $9 gets you access to pretty much everything besides the bouncy pillow jumper thing which is $4 for kids over age 4. We got to hold bunnies, hang out and pet a bunch of animals in the barns, pony rides, cornhole, plastic duck water races, and a big tractor to climb on. It wasn't busy- due to online reservations and that was awesome. You can take a tractor or horse drawn wagon ride into the sunflower field to admire them or pick your own. $5/6 or $20 for a whole vase full. Food was incredibly reasonable and we got 2 hot dogs and 2 ears of corn (literally the best I have ever eaten) for $10 total. They have cookies and baked goods for sale. I do wish they sold single cookies and not just by the dozen- because I didn't trust us not to consume an entire dozen before making it home. Everyone was working so hard and so kind. Things were super clean and this farm has managed to provide a bunch of activities that a reasonably priced without making it a circus attraction like some of the other similar farms around here. My kids were asking to go back before we even left the parking lot. Congrats to a job well done.

I recently visited the Kelkenberg Farm for a young one's birthday party. It was my first time being there, but I wish i knew about it sooner! It is family ran and operated, the entire farm has a very family friendly feel. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and directed towards the party, we went on a farm tour, and also a hay ride. The entire experience was very educational, I learned so much about honey bees and all the other animals, I think the adults had just as much or more fun than the kids! There were lots of activities to participate in like pony rides, milking a goat, holding and petting various animals etc. We bought some fresh ground beef to make burgers and made them the same day, they were delicious. I would recommend the Kelkenberg Farm to anyone, especially if you have young ones.

Prices are very fair for everything included, especially since you're allowed to stay all day and you have re-entry on the daily pass. They do sell extremely limited food options, but with the re-entry you could easily go for food and come back. No outside food is allowed except water and baby formula. Fair. The amenities inside are perfect for toddler to elementary aged kids. When I asked my daughters if they liked it they said "Five stars! They even had a volcano slide! How cool is that?" It is really cool, to be honest. They also had a zip line, a ball pit, a rope bridge and imagination play. AND you can do all of this dressed like a princess. Every time I turned around my daughter was dressed in a different costume. We spent three hours here, no problem. They also advertised birthday parties, and a summer camp options. Everything was thoughtfully planned, from sanitizer stations and step stools in the bathrooms, to locker/cubbies for storing shoes and other belongings. Heads up! Socks are required for everyone- even parents. One minor issue was limited seating for adults who weren't playing, but thankfully that wasn't an issue late on a Tuesday evening. We had a blast here, and for $30 it was an easy outing for the wallet.

This summer, an instructor convinced my 10 years old to switch lessons to Legacy. My daughter loved the facility, looked up to the instructors and was promised more challenging lessons. They increased the price of a private lesson on us with in weeks of starting. Multiple times, we showed up for lessons and discovered the instructor absent. I came as a visitor once, and saw some of the conditions of the horses, and did not like it at all. I highly recommend the stable on Salt - Brookfield - over this place, if you want your horse to live in luxury and to be treated the way your horse deserves. I was last here maybe 18 months ago.
