Place looked terrible with "junk" everywhere. It looked like someone's storage locker. The owner was condescending to me. I am a woman and I guess he didn't think I knew about cigars. I am have been smoking cigars for about 7 years. He also did not carry my favorite cigars Perdomos. Will not go back. He didn't offer me a receipt. Don't expect some fancy lounge. It appears as a basic storefront in a strip mall when you pull up and turns into someone's garage when you walk inside. There are seats everywhere for you to lounge around and enjoy the hookah while watching a random movie playing on the flat-screen or perhaps listening to music streaming from your iPod/iPhone over the speakers. It's $10 for 1.5 hours, a pipe to be shared between two. Fancier flavors cost a little more. There's also a wall of cigars up in the back. They were open on Christmas. Merry Christmas to us! I feel guilty about reviewing Bulldog's. I fear that too much exposure in the Yelposphere may cause an influx of trash at a truly local joint with a personality all of its own. This place is a complete treasure of a hookah bar. When you walk in on Ninja Warrior on the big screens, you will be forced to leave your pretentiousness at the door. Vance, the owner, is the VJ for the joint, and his DVD collection is immense and impressive. While he does have a propensity for some Anime serials and Jeff Dunham, most of the time he'll be playing good action movies. Vance has owned the bar since it's first inception on Main Street, near the Downtown Library. Since moving next to Havana Cafe, it can now hold 40 people comfortably. Big couches and worn-in futons await you. Even if you go alone, as I sometimes do, I always walk out with two or three new friends. Everyone has a great attitude here, and they only serve the best brands (mostly Starbuzz) out of the best pipes (mostly Maya). It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. And they never enforce a time limit. They also carry a wide variety of cigars and a few expert smokers are usually around to guide you into a good pick. Sometimes you have to ask Matt or Vance or anyone else working to heat up some coals so plan accordingly. They also sell water, soda, Camel Cigarettes and some snacks. Bulldog's is open LATE on weekends (2 AM, usually) and they'll stay open as long as they aren't falling asleep and can still make a little money. However, they hate anyone from Riverside County so if you're a 909-er, you should avoid this place like the plague. Just FYI. read more

What a neat little place... I love it for the originality and the comforting/chill sense that it gives. Right when you walk it, you will feel as if you just stepped into one of your buddies' place. You walk pass the people sitting in the "living room" into the kitchen, where you will pay for your hookah at a very low price. After paying at the "kitchen counter," you take a seat on the couches that is placed in front of the TV. There is a wide selection of DVDs to choose from, but I am sure that the owner would be very unhappy with your choice... When I went, I picked Sherlock Holmes but they said that they have played it 10 times within that week... You may also bring your own laptop to fully enjoy the image of being at your friend's house. There are also some drinks and snacks for a very low price -- granted, they would be free if you were actually at your friend's (if not, get new ones!). A great place to go to if you just want to escape the typical lounge/club scene. This place is mellow, comfortable, and you can easily make friends here since there are a lot of regulars. If not, just try to make friends with the owner's dogs. They're adorable! Miniature version of Lassie! Even if you don't smoke, just come with a couple of friends who do, and enjoy the ambiance. Let me first start by saying I don't give many 1 reviews. I've done over 80 yelp reviews and only given out maybe 5 1's, so I'm generally a positive reviewer. This place is just that bad. First of all, they don't give you a protective mouthpiece. This is BASIC HYGIENE. That's pretty disgusting if you expect customers to have direct mouth contact to the pipe. Just not cool. Second, the place looks run down, the couch's are kind of dirty, and there's even pets walking around. Normally I love pets to death but isn't this a place of business? Imagine if you were at a restaurant and suddenly a dog starts to lick your dates toes. I am a person who enjoys hole in the wall type of small businesses (I hate going to chains) but ugh, this place takes it too far. Most of the crowd/customers here were young or still in highschool. Bulldog's is locally owned and most patrons are regulars. There are comfy (albeit questionable) couches everywhere and the owner's always got one or two of his friendly pups roaming about. My favorite is this little collie whose name currently escapes me. She's a sweetheart! My favorite is the Cactus Cooler blend. This is a great place to come in and lounge about with a few friends. You can pick from their massive collection of DVDs & Blu-Rays. Don't be shy - they'll be more than happy to place it for you! They'll even sit in the large area with you and crack little jokes here and there. This is altogether a very laid back place, but if you're not open minded or prefer a super clean spot to chill I'd go somewhere else. Straight up this place is a dump. There are about 1000 cigar boxes going up the stairs and many other brown boxes laying around. I instantly felt uncomfortable when I walked in. The vibe was weird with Online shows about Alex Jones the tv and just a couple guys keeping to themselves, regulars who knew the routine feeling comfortable walking upstairs and grabbing sodas. This is the weirdest hookah lounge I've ever been to. Felt more like a friends living room than a place of business, and I don't mean that in a good way. Walked in and immediately felt like an "outsider", there was no way to distinguish the one employee, that was smoking in front of the lagre tv with the volume way too loud, from the customers. The customers that came in while we were there must be regulars or employees, they just walked straight to the back to prep their own hookah. If you're expecting to get amazing customer service here, you're sorely mistaken. The customer service here was so bad, the guy working made me feel like I was wrong for asking for extra coals. And that Yelp check-in offer came in real handy! (sarcasm) When we tried to use it we were told that it's not valid after 6pm, which the offer doesn't say. I've been here a couple times with a few friends. It's a great place to just kick back, lounge, and catch up. My friends used to come here pretty often and have a good relationship with the owner. The place is in a little plaza by a gas station. Honestly, the first time I went there it was a little hard for me to find. The parking lot is sufficient for the stores there, but if you can't find a spot, just park right up next to the building. Inside is dimly lit and there are various areas to lounge. Everything is packed in pretty tight and it's almost as if you're at a friend's living room. It's pretty cozy, but not the cleanest looking place. I like it because it has an at home feel to me. Each area has a TV where, at least when I've gone, they place movies. It looks like they have a pretty decent collection so I'm sure whatever you request they'll have. We always smoke hookah whenever we come over. My friend asks for "something good" whenever we go and the owner gives us a special blend. They get special charcoal blends made so you get a good variety of flavors. We usually kick it in the TV area and play cards and chat it up. So my bf and I used to come here almost every Saturday when all his friends would go out because I wasn't 21 yet. :) It's real chill and has a homey feel to it. Big futons and couches for you to chill on, big screen TVs that are always playing a good movie or TV show. This place got my bf and I hoked on the show Weeds. They sell soda, energy drinks, and snacks as well. Van usually has the place open until about 2AM, but I remember a couple of times when a movie was still playing, we were the only ones left, and Van would tell us it's ok to just chill. I'll deff be going here more often. My friend brought me here on a rainy day. Inside is super cozy, there's couches and TVs with movies playing. I instantly felt comfortable. There are a few different areas you can chill in and TONS of movies to pick from. The vibes are really mellow and chill, it's like walking inside your house and being with your family. It's not loud and annoying like other hookah bars that play crappy super loud music and have strobe lights goin off. It's a nice place to relax and enjoy yourself. I don't see myself ever going to another hookah bar in HB. It honstly felt like I was sitting at home with my friends, lounging around on the couch, watching a movie and smoking some hookah. I've read some of the negative reviews of this place and they really give it a bad rap to be quite honest I think that most of them were from the old place which was very run down due to the whole mall being in the process of getting demolished and Vance looking for a place to move the lounge to. I remember some of the best conversations I had over a hookah pipe, I went when it was located off Main St in Huntington Beach, and it attracted a really great crowd of people... Everyone from the beach rats of Huntington, to UCLA grad students, so one night you could be talking about Nissan's new race car, or the crazy break that happened that morning, and the next you'd be having a discussion about semiotics. Came here with a group of my coworkers. I have mixed feelings about this place. This is not your typical hookah lounge. It is very small, dirty, and plain. It definitely does not have the night life scene to it. There's no music at all either. However, it is a good place if you just want to be alone with friends. This place is great. It has a great kick back feeling. I see that most of the 1 star reviews are from people who like those annoying, expensive, stereotypical hookah lounges. You know.. the kind that you can barely talk in, play shitty music, and all the douche bags hang out at? This place is not upscale, its not pretentious, and has a very homely feel to it. The choice of atmosphere is to have be like you're hanging out at your buddy's house. And it does very much feel that way. IThe place is packed with couches and couple of big screen TVs. Free WI Fi. Also, when I was in there, there was a talented band there just jamming out on their guitars. The staff was friendly, the people were really cool, their ages 18-30 age range. I'm not a party person and I don't like loud music, and they don't play music. What made this hookah lounge unique is the environment. The owner is Asian, and he is a JDM car enthusiast. In fact, his NSX was featured in the latest Fast and Furious movie. They play movies, watch sports, and stand up comedy. It is a rather pleasing environment. People are extremely friendly... Think of it as "Cheers" of hookah! They are the biggest MYA Saray dealer in OC, and from what I understand, they're the biggest MYA Saray crystal hookah dealer in the west coast. Their tobacco FS section includes Starbuzz, Golden Layalina, Fusion, and Al Fakhar. They also have a great selection of high-end cigars! The selection is small but very carefully chosen by the owner. They frequently have Opus X, AF Anejo, Padron Anniversary, Ashton VSG, and more. If you're a hookah or cigar aficionado, you should check this place out! Not huge into cigars.. so i cant comment on those. However. Hookah-wise you have a huge selection, all very decent flavors, cheaply priced, even better group deals. Extremely laid back atmosphere, the kinda place you would want to be while smoking hookah, unless you want techno and arabic music blaring while you are trying to carry a conversation. Always something on the big screens; Movies, TV, whatever and never too loud, etc. Extremely chill people, i always thought of it like spending time at a friends house.
