Unfortunately, when I got to the water, I discovered every worm in the container was dead. Luckily, Clearlake Bait & Tackle was less than a block away. What a great find! The store was clean, organized, and packed with everything an angler could need to chase their next personal best. The gentleman working there was friendly and helpful. He got me set up with a fresh tub of nightcrawlers, and I was back on the road in no time. Thanks to those lively nightcrawlers, I caught a fish within 10 minutes of getting my line in the water. She felt as though we was tricked from the pictures. She was told no refunds. My aunt was so disgusted she nearly got back on the plane and flew home. The place from the outside had spider webs and dirt all over the place. Its seriously needs to be pressure hosed from the outside all over. This is only where the problems start. In my beach house cottage the power and stove went out. They stated its a DFI switch or something like that, nevertheless after having a "employee who can fix it." They couldn't find her, she went home. So I had to wait to finish cooking. After about 2 hours they magically came back on. This seems as though its been a ongoing problem from the way they made it sound. Another one of my aunts had to wait for her unit to be painted 3 hours past check it. Yes I said painted! Who paints a unit same day of check in? Well later I find out they had a squatter who wouldn't leave dying there. the place smelled so bad they had to paint it to remove the smell. They wouldve been better off not renting the unit till it was complete. My aunt had to try and sleep there with paint fumes and she has asthma. Lastly mother and I was hanging out till midnight. When it was time for her to goto bed, she discovers her unit flooded from the AC. Her Bedding was soaked. They did come and mop it up and give new bedding. They literally gave the new bedding to my mom. My mother is handicap, the guy claims he has never maid a bed before. My mother could've slipped or gotten electrocuted, the offered no help. Here is the worst part they offered a $50 discount for the trouble. Moral of the story is NEVER got there. They need new owners and management that gives a dam.

A convenient landing spot indeed...a quiet spot to enjoy a bottle of wine and listen to the crackle of the fireplace after a long day of sublime laziness. Blue Fish Cove is a simple no-frills kinda place located "off the grid" for those of y'all who don't want to be bothered... and it's a hop skip and jump away from Sac and SF. The customer service here is excellent. The owners, namely Ms Judy, was very kind , extremely accommodating, and they're pet and family friendly.

Decent sized island in the middle of Clearlake. The island has its own abandoned construction site…read moreas well as a bathroom and tree swing. The best way to get here is by kayak or boat probably. We came up from the north side and parked the kayaks on the rocks. There's a bit of a steep hill that leads up to the central area with the aforementioned stuff, and the hill is littered in sheep skulls/bones. I've never seen anything like it but it really looks like there was a sheep massacre here. Anyways, the island isn't really creepy otherwise. The views from the top are pretty good - you can see the lake peeking through the trees, and the swing gives you a nice vantage point to relax before making your way back to wherever you came from. There doesn't seem to be any private property but with the sheep skulls and all I couldn't be sure.

I've never actually stepped foot on Rattlesnake Island, but have water skied around it since the…read moremid '60's! I understand that it was called Rattlesnake Island because many years ago, the island was inundated with rattlesnakes. Then, to control the rattlesnake population, wild pigs were bred on the island. The theory was that wild pigs would kill the rattlesnakes! I don't know if that's true or not. There's a building site on the island. A year and a half ago, I talked to a young man who said that he was the building site foreman. He said that he brought work crews over to the island occasionally, when the owner had tasks for him to complete. I don't know the status of the home that they were building. I believe that the island is owned by the man who's building his house there!

Breeding habits and migration were explained in detail. We were a family party of five with ages from 3 to 70 and all were well served on this early October morning. We always felt safe. When you can't, you owe me a drink. Faith had no tours scheduled for today, but she woke up early and was waiting for my wife and I, boat in the water and ready to go. We paid a premium for the private tour but so worth it. I think 4 people per tour would be perfect so if you have another couple to split the costs it's well worth it. Watching Faith get so excited about spotting another species and talking excitedly about the where's and why's is really engaging. She truly cares about the lakes ecosystem and how it affects the birds. There is no script and no trying to up sell. This is a small owner-operator company. We had such a great morning. Before today I would have called this a bird watching trip. Now I will be describing it as a bird engagement tour. We stopped at a dock on the South side to watch even more birds not of the paddling type and use the restrooms. We then headed back across the lake. Our tour ran long as we were just enjoying the lake and the conversation. I recommend this tour just so you can feel Faith's passion for the waterfowl and this lake. My wife and I travel much of the year for work, meeting with customers and we see a lot of attractions, meeting a lot of people. We will be talking about this morning a lot with our friends and family.
