The focaccia bread served at the top of our meal was legitimately delicious and the best tasting part of our meal. Beautiful baby shower for our daughter Kelly. The food was fantastic, the staff was wonderful and the atmosphere was awesome! We had my daughter's baby shower at the Bulls Head Inn August 1st. The food was delicious and the servers were so attentive . The room was very spacious and loved that we were allowed to decorate the room before the shower started. Everyone had an outstanding meal. Having stopped there once when they were not open, we hoped to go there on our anniversary, but they were closed (Monday). Although they are showing at both Open Table and Trip Advisor, I was unsuccessful in accessing their website. We're still hoping to dine there one evening when we are in the area, but the grounds appeared less well attended than when we stopped there a couple of years ago. I had my after wedding Brunch at Bull's Head and it was perfect. The place is cozy and taverny and fit our 80ish guests spaciously. The food was amazing quality - fresh, great selection, plenty of leftovers. The staff was kind and helpful. Was very reasonably priced. Never felt rushed when we stayed a bit past our time slot. My wife had her baby shower at Bulls Head Inn two weeks ago and it DID NOT disappoint.  Everything from the food to the service was phenomenal.  Mike, Virna, and their staff were all very accommodating, allowing my mother-in-law and friends to arrive a couple hours before the event to set up.  Given the current COVID-19 restrictions, our guests were more than comfortable, as we were set up on the outside porch, back ;awn by the fountain, and indoor gazebo.  It truly looked like a Benjamin Moore magazine!  It's such a beautiful place! All of our guests had nothing but great things to say about the food and service.  Their party options are very affordable and Mike and Virna will accommodate for any concerns you might have.  We will definitely be back for lunch or dinner in the future.  Bulls Head Inn has our highest recommendation! read more

My girlfriends and I were excited to try this place our first night upstate. It was my first time out of the city since the pandemic (I'm an essential worker). Unfortunately, they believed our IDs were fake (we are all from the south) and chose not to serve us alcohol so we left and went somewhere else. We are all 24-28, maybe we just look particularly 20 or younger that night, but it was kinda of ridiculous I couldn't order a glass of wine as a soon-to-be 29 year old. I also understand it was busy but we also waited a while to be asked what we wanted to drink/eat. I'll give three stars for the great backyard seating. But make sure to bring bug spray. read more

Our waitress darra was great, very personable, took her time to chat with us and explain everything on the menu, made us feel comfortable like we had known her for years. First time here, food was all excellent. There were 4 of us and all of our dinners were very good. I had the short rib, it was very good. the other entrees we had and would recommend are the salmon, pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon and the steak and shrimp kabobs. We shared desserts including the coconut cake which was excellent and the banana foster cheesecake which looked incredible and my daughter said was outstanding. The owner was wandering checking on tables which was nice to see. It was very busy and service could have been more attentive, but we weren't in a hurry so we were ok with it. We dropped in without a reservation on a busy Saturday and the front of house team was incrediblely accommodating for a party of 9. We ate in the Tavern which was a really cool space. The food was excellent (especially the French onion soup) and the service was spectacular. I'd recommend this spot to anyone in the area. This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to. They have this amazing pear purse pasta that is an appetizer or an entree that is so delicious. Their filet mignon melts in your mouth it is so tender and grilled to perfection with a delicious béarnaise sauce. The lava cake was very good too. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy I love sitting by the fireplace. The staff is beyond nice and super helpful they go above and beyond to make it a great dining experience. I definitely recommend going here. I can't wait to go back to try other items from the menu. Their specials sound amazing too such different items. read more

Made reservations one day prior for about 14 people , the owner set us up upstairs ,, well we were all pleasantly surprised , we Had the whole upstairs to ourselves ,, so we had our own dinning table and after dinner we were all so comfortable relaxing on various sofas and easy chairs ! Yet the staff completely attenntive to our every needs and let us continue to celebrate our Moms 82 birthday like it was our own private space ,, it was like a 4 hour reception honoring our Mom ! We had an amazing dinner here! The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Sal, our server, was one of the best and gave us an incredible experience, he really made the dinner special, and helped to accommodate a gluten allergy. We got the French onion soup, spicy cauliflower, filet mignon, pappardelle, beet salad, and flower less chocolate cake. Absolutely exceptional dining experience. The staff is friendly, the owners are unbelievably welcoming. I felt like I had known them my whole life. Our server was great al though I didn't get his name, the servicer was so accommodating. I had the best Moscow Mule I've ever had there. The food was so delicious. There were four of us and we all tried some of each other's meals. The salmon was great, the roasted chicken was amazing but my favorites were the mushroom risotto and the steak special. This place was recommended by friends in the area and I was looking to take a nice ride and have an early dinner. I felt like a regular from the moment I was greeted and seated promptly after having a cocktail at the bar (great martini BTW). The menu offered great variety but I chose the Brussel Sprout Caesar and the Pappardelle With Wild Mushrooms. Both dishes were excellent. My boyfriend had the Sweet Chili Cauliflower and the Pork Chop for dinner. Both, he said, were amazing. We were stuffed but just had to try the Coconut Cake which friends told me was a must. I brought 10 friends visiting from NYC to the Bull's Head Inn. I chose this restaurant for it's upscale reputation. When we arrived, there was a TEENAGE BAND playing the most awful live music. Our group could not hear each other over the music. Here's the worst thing: this band was straight out of their parents' garage. They were SCREAMING depressing mid-2000s hits like 'Mr. Brightside' and 'I Miss You.' It was embarassing, and ruined the evening. It was also confusing, because this restaurant advertises itself as high-end. This would have been terrible music for a high school prom, let alone a classy dinner. A huge embarassment. read more

I've been here once and really enjoyed it! We went for brunch and the staff was really friendly, so friendly we stayed from the beginning of brunch till the end. They offer bottomless Bloody Mary bar which you have prepare however you like, as well as bottomless mimosas which the bar makes. I'm a sucker for bottomless champagne! The brunch food was great too. Fabulous lunch! The most wonderful tomato soup (I know...so simple but so wonderful when it is done right!) and PERFECT grilled cheese sandwich. We were the first diners when they started opening for lunch on Fridays and went there on a whim and were so pleased. Michelle could not have been more warm and welcoming. Lovely! I recently had at birthday party for 30 people at the Bulls Head Inn. Everything was wonderful from cocktails to dessert. The service was impeccable. Everyone raved about the amazing food ( especially the Chateaubriand). The private room upstairs was quaint and charming. There was even a tv which enabled us to show a family video. Our daughter had to cancel her wedding plans at the New Jersey shore in 2020 because...well, you know. Once restrictions started to ease and our family got vaccinated, we decided to try again. We began to research many different venues in the area ruling them out for one reason or another. Difficult parking, too many stairs, private room not available, ambiance, staff, menu selection, and of course, the quality of the food. Then we found the Bulls Head Inn. Time for a test run! Nestled among bucolic fields on the scenic Sarah Well's Trail, this enchanting restaurant is a hidden gem in the Hudson Valley. With ample, level parking and a choice of a few steps or a brick ramped entrance we were encouraged. My husband and I were greeted warmly by the hostess at the door and shown to our table on the patio overlooking the beautiful coy pond and garden. The interior is elegant yet comfortable with interesting antiques and artwork and we were thrilled to see there was a private glassed-in gazebo that would suit our party perfectly. Our waitress, Alexa, was attentive and professional, the menus, food and beverage, were varied and interesting. So far so good. When the food arrived, plated beautifully we were one step closer. The appetizers, entrees and dessert were served in a timely unhurried manner allowing us to enjoy each course to its fullest. In fact, we enjoyed it so much we returned numerous times to try different items before settling on our favorites for the wedding menu. We had: Sweet chili cauliflower and charcuterie board for appetizers served family style, a plated Caesar salad, choice of entrees: crispy duck a la orange, grilled filet mignon with roasted potatoes, baked scallops au gratin with scalloped potatoes, grilled marinated chicken with truffle sage gnocchi, or pasta with crab meat. Desserts - flourless chocolate cake, pineapple upside down cake and Grand Marnier crème Brulee. I have to add that my last bite of the crème brulee had a raspberry that tasted like it was straight from the garden, bursting with flavor that I have not experienced since childhood! It's the details that make the difference. The owners Virna and Mike (also the chef) were flexible and a joy to work with. On the big day our guests were treated to a perfect experience by the servers Emma, Stefano and the rest of the staff. I just had my daughter's bridal shower here and it was as amazing! This restaurant was the only one who gave me such a beautiful space to have party. They could not be more accommodating to me as far as letting me set-up the night before which was the owner's suggestion. He said this so I can enjoy myself the day of the party. There were several things I needed such as extra tables, a tablecloth to cover a window that was shining through hedge wall. Anything I wanted or needed they found a way to do it. A man named Sean was a big help! The food was delicious, everything was perfect and I would recommend this place for a party or even for dinner. read more
