What a great restaurant from drinks to appetizers and entrees and top notch service a real gem in the area

We arrived without reservations on a Sunday afternoon, early. We were seated without issue. The drink menu is great! The food menu has plenty of options! I decided on short ribs and hubby had strip steak. We shared the pear salad. Everything we had was delicious. The views were great and the ambiance was perfect. My husband and I recently dined at Doro Steakhouse and, unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the restaurant's reputation or price point. The evening started with a simple but disappointing issue. I ordered a glass of White Zinfandel and was told there wasn't enough left in the bottle to pour a full glass, so I would need to order something else. For a restaurant where dinner for two exceeded $200, I was surprised there wasn't another bottle available. Next, we ordered the short rib dumplings appetizer. What arrived looked very much like empanadas rather than dumplings. When we questioned it, the waitress acknowledged that they "look like empanadas" but insisted they were dumplings. To make matters worse, the menu indicated six pieces, but we only received four. For my entree I ordered the short ribs ragu. The dish that arrived looked like a hunk of pot roast than the short ribs I expected. When I questioned it, the waitress stated there had been a communication error and offered to take it back. While I appreciated her effort to correct the issue, by that point it felt like yet another problem in a series of disappointments. The waitress herself was pleasant and did her best to address our concerns, so this is not a criticism of her service. My concern is with the overall execution and attention to detail. Between the unavailable wine, the appetizer discrepancy, the confusion surrounding the entree and multiple questions about what was actually being served, the experience simply did not match the premium prices being charged. We had dinner on NYE here. So glad we did. Each item was perfectly made. The staff were very attentive and worked together to take great care of us. The bread was amazing. The space was upscale and inviting. The only frustrating part was the parking lot was too small for the number of people there. Thankfully everyone coming and going were respectful being in the same situation. We will definitely keep this as a celebration spot. read more

Excellent place in the middle of nowhere We found it on our way to the Resorts Casino coming from CT and it was so worth it. Amazing high-end cocktails designed by a head bartender and the food was just as good. We've already been there 2 times and really hope they make since they just opened up in November so hopefully all all the local people will support it. read more

Sucks that the service at this restaurant is poor. Great location for people in the area and the food is decent. My partner and I went here for a Saturday date night with a reservation at 7:45. We ordered appetizers that came timely but it was 9:00 and we still hadn't received our entrees, so we asked for a bill and left. Other parties seemed to have been waiting a very long time as well. Our waitress was understanding and let us know it was a kitchen issue. If this place had better service I could see better potential, but from my experience I will not be returning. read more

Both myself and my friend were warmly welcomed by the bartender/ waiter. We were immediately seated and picked a window table overlooking the running river. We quickly ordered our drinks which arrived right away ,heard the specials and ordered a French dip sandwich and a crispy chicken sandwich. Both came with crispy curly fries. The French dip was moist and nicely seasoned on a toasted baguette and the chicken was also moist on a toasted bun with mozzarella and ricotta and some greens. Both dishes came out hot. First time here and I have to say WOW! From the moment we arrived the staff was fantastic and friendly. We were greeted and showed our table. Go early to get a table overlooking the water. My wife had the burrata steakhouse and I had the French onion soup as an appetizer, for our main my wife had the filet mignon and I had the skirt steak. We ordered the squid ink seafood pasta. The shrimp was obviously washed in ammonia or bleach. My husband took a bite and tasted pure ammonia. We never ever complain. We told the server who told the manager or owner. He was non apologetic and said thank you for telling me. Offered us carrot cake and we left. 200 dollar meal and not impressive and definitely not fresh. Disappointed because the menu seemed delicious and the ambiance is nice. So we ate there. Food (which isn't necessarily cheap) is pretty good. Solid B, steaks seemed OK. I've eaten at both Ruth Chris and The Capital Grill quite a bit ( traveled weekly for work back in the day) and I'd say it's not bad for Pine Bush NY, but it's not Ruth Chris's. When they gave us the check we discovered they added a roughly 5% "service fee", which is absolutely ridiculous. When I posted that online on another website the restaurant first denied it happened at all, claimed they did not add a "service fee" to the check. Which they 100% did (read all the reviews online, someone else mentioned it in another review on another website). THEN they said that charge must have been the credit card processing charge. I pointed out It wasn't. It was an additional BS "service fee" they were adding to every check. THEN they said they were adding a credit card processing "service fee" to EVERY check, but removing it if the check is paid another way. What a load of horse sh*t, no way that is happening. Not a chance. So, given the additional "service fee", followed by their denial that they were adding a "service fee", followed by their acknowledgment that they were adding a "service fee" to every check in case everyone uses a credit card to pay, but redoing the check and removing that charge if they don't pay with a credit card. Can't make it up. It's like a comedy bit at this place. No way will I be back and I absolutely cannot recommend eating there at all. read more

Wonderful experience all around celebrating birthdays tonight at the newly opened D'Oro Steakhouse. The ambience was subdued and beautiful. Every staff member we met genuinely caring and accommodating, and the food absolutely delicious. The piano player playing classical Christmas music was the icing on the cake.
