It was further from our location on FlatHead Lake, but worth the extra miles...great espresso, great service

The Bird & Billy is the coffee shop my client chose to celebrate the purchase of their new home…read more It was perfect. The client was happy and so was everyone else in the coffee shop. There are games like a massive chess set. If you are interested in a Montana real estate transaction I would love to meet you at an establishment like this and chat about the options I could offer. This is a little interesting little (not really little) local coffee shop…read more Love the space, food and coffee each of the three or four times I came here within a week. Syrups are made in house....lemon vanilla hands down my favorite but then sadly it wasn't available anytime after the first time I tried it. Honey Cinnamon was second fave then sticky toffee was third, barely tasted it. I wish they would list the syrup flavors on the menu on the wall along with food because the menus are halfway through the line (there's always a line) or at the cash register. I'm just an efficiency kind of gal, that's all. I'm still trying to figure out the family situation who owns the place (I'm just a curious bird no pun intended), it was an interesting dynamic with some seeming to hustle each time while others chatting with friends during a rush. I had the avocado toast for lunch one day and it was priced low, $7, and enough to fill me up mid day. Wifi is strong and bathrooms on site, even though it was packed each time, with noise cancelling headphones you can concentrate and get work done!

Trivia: Ceres is known as a dwarf planet but I think the mythological connection makes more sense…read more Who is Ceres in Roman mythology? The live planter in the back is super cool! Really makes the seating area come to life! Ha! The cooler with ginger beer and kombucha had one small flaw: there were no nutrition facts. The baristas/bakers didn't have much to say on the matter. So I didn't get one. Service was friendly. It was fast. Definitely a good spot to duck into as one works their way along the shops on Main Street.

We were looking for a coffee shop to do some remote work/planning together and stumbled upon Ceres!…read moreIt was recommended by a few of my family members as well, so we thought we'd give it a try! When you walk in, fresh smells waft over you and it makes your tummy rumble (at least it did mine). All their baked goods are very fresh and look delicious! My only qualms are with the coffee and atmosphere. Either our coffees were burnt or we just don't like the roast (I got a caramel latte, she got a chai latte). We still drank them because they weren't absolutely disgusting, they just tasted off and not something you'd want to drink regularly. As for the atmosphere, the space was very cute and well laid out - there are plants and paintings throughout to bring color and joy. However, Carolers came in for about 15 minutes.. with brass instruments! I understand "tis the season" and I love the Christmas spirit, but I also don't want a trombone blasting music 10 feet from my table on a lazy Sunday morning... a little disappointed Ceres allowed them to do this, but I also don't want to be a Scrooge... If you want a good cinnamon roll or breakfast sandwich I think this is the spot! But maybe temper expectations for coffee? Might just be me, but also worth a visit if you want. Happy Holidays!
