We are fortunate to have first class coffee locally. The Cowboy coffee is a personal favorite along with the wild horse. I usually just buy bags at the local harvest foods. The space is contemporary/industrial with soaring ceilings. The staff is friendly, down-to-earth, and knowledgeable. The prices seemed reasonable. They had an amazing assortment of coffee, tea, and cocoa. BF had coffee. Not sure which one he settled on, but he liked it. I had chai tea with almond milk. I used to live in Flathead and loved this place. Their primary espresso roast is one of the best in the county, and the service was always friendly too. Walk in and you'll feel like family. Albeit a very caffeinated and happy family member. Some of the best coffee I've ever tasted is roasted and served up in this quaint shop in Bigfork. Today we experienced a "cupping"--coffee tasting of a coffee from Papua New Guinea. I have to admit, I was completely out of my element and realized I have a super inexperienced coffee palate. That being said, Ben was a gracious host and never made us feel inadequate. This really should be a paid event but I think the idea is that you will buy something. And that I did. I took home a pound of the coffee of the month to try out at home. Reasonably priced for what you're taking home, I am excited to test it out. Their scones and baked goods are so yummy. So if you need a little bite, you can also find that here. This is a nice place to meet, mingle and just chill out. During nice weather, the outside patio is a fun place, additionally I saw a gal sitting there doing some work on her laptop. Okay let me qualify this review with the fact that I'm not a coffee snob, I'll drink most any swill I'm handed and make use of the caffeine. However, I make a point of visiting Fieldheads' first thing every Saturday morning for a straight up 12 once cappuccino because it's the only morning I'm home while their open (I'd be their on Sunday too, if they weren't closed). This is the only place I've found in flathead valley that consistently produces espresso that is smooth and without bitterness. If you don't know what that's like, I highly suggest swinging by and ordering an expresso beverage that is not masked by lots of flavors - there's quite a difference. This is one of my favorite coffee stops! They roast the coffee beans on the premises. A great variety of coffees are roasted there, Ethiopian, Costa Rican, Indonesian. The Roaster and his staff are very knowledgeable about the coffees and their flavors. Consequently, they give them local names and associations: Wild Mile, Highline, Swiftcurrent etc. The Lovely Baristas have excellent taste in music and play a nice selection of playlists including tunes by: Postal Service to Phoenix to Steve Miller and Fleetwood Mac. Locals stop in for the days drip, today they are serving Highline. Patrons sip their cups at quaint mosaic tables inside or under umbrellas outside where fresh mountain air drifts over from the swan river (Wild Mile) nearby. Big Fork was half way between Missoula (where we started) and Glacier National Park where we were going. The "town" was a delightful collection of tourist shops and restaurants and tourist shops. We weren't hungry and didn't need souvenirs but did need caffeine. The staff was remarkably friendly and helpful. I did find myself in a "5 Easy Pieces" moment when they told me that they don't make a large cappuccino. It wasn't even listed on their menu. Large Lattes are listed but apparently 16 oz of cappuccino is not traditional. However, after a quick smile they were able to bend their rules and the results were delicious and sufficiently invigorating to keep me going for the remainder of my drive. I like the openness of their store and the stack of large canvass sacks containing coffee beans in the back, just waiting for their roaster. I think if you ask nicely and maybe offer a couple of bucks they might even give you one of the empty sacks. And when you stop by remember to stand your ground (but not in a Florida way) and insist on a large cappuccino, Tell them Bob sent you. read more

I came here a few days ago and ordered an almond milk cholaca latte which is pretty much a healthy version of a mocha (I think it had Cocoa, coconut sugar, and one other ingredient instead of the typical syrup).
