It's been some years since my visit to this office. I thought I had completed this review with great detail. However, it's an event I will never forget. This person is a horrible "medical professional". As a person of color, my hope was that I could get the help I needed by going to a doctor who specialized in and had background in treating patients of color. Unfortunately, I got exactly the opposite. Not only was this woman rude... she did not listen, she made horrible diagnoses/suggested treatments. After her rudeness & lack of attentiveness, she had the nerve to think I was going to allow her to give me injections on the back of my neck, at the base of my skull. To beat all, as we went to make the necessary co-pay, we realized we'd forgotten our method of payment. However, we realized we had a checkbook in the car and we expressed that we would need to go out & get it. She tried to accuse us of of running out without making the co-pay!! The doctor had no time to listen ! Wish I had read the reviews before waiting over an hour beyond my scheduled appointment time to find a doctor with no time to listen. The doctor was quick to give her history and talk about her recent surgery, she even elaborated about the cost of her medical supplies for her physical therapy. The doctor spent more time coding my insurance payment form than taking any interest in my condition, she even commented that she would not pay anyone to code for her and was not going to use the electronic payment system due to being charged a fee for using it, Penny Wise and Dollar Foolish ! She was quick to schedule a follow-up appointment. However, due to the doctor not addressing what the appointment was originally for in the first place, I will not waste any more time, energy & money seeing Dr. Buntin. read more

Why, oh, why, did I not Google Dr. Buntin before making an appointment? After the most awkward and rude visit I've ever experienced with any type of doctor, I was able to find comfort in the reviews on other sites - knowing it wasn't me that was crazy. Dr. Buntin asked me to explain my problem and then started talking over me after about one sentence. When I asked her if I could continue with my history, she told me "I know what you're going to say." Really? I understand she might THINK she knows what's going on, but isn't it her job to listen before making a decision? She stood up, told me if we were going to have a "personality conflict", that I should just get my co-pay back and leave. I tried to explain that all I was doing was telling her about my problem, but she would have none of it. Dr. Buntin walked out of the room, leaving the door open. I sat on the table for a minute, mouth agape, and basically feeling attacked. Gathered my things and stopped at the front desk to get my paperwork back. The receptionist was on the phone, but I know she heard everything because the walls are very thin and Dr. Buntin was still talking loudly at me when the door was open. Please do yourself a favor and choose another doctor. This woman is very unprofessional, and worse, incompetent. She is clearly in the business of seeing as many patients as she can, and not in the business of caring for your needs. You will absolutely feel rushed as she talks over your questions and comments, and unfortunately in my case, not receive adequate answers. My wife experienced similar results as well, to the point that Dr Buntin neglected her own responsibilities of researching drug effects in relation to breastfeeding from a prior visit two weeks earlier, only to then ask my wife to do the research herself by contacting her pediatrician. My sister had an absolutely horrible experience w Dr Buntin years ago so I avoided going. However everyone knew her unmatched ability to treat African America skin. So I relented and I'm so glad I did. I was prepared to have horrible service but a solved problem, which was worth it (similar to the soup nazi Seinfeld episode). But my actual experience couldn't have been better. No wait. Courteous receptionist. Dr Buntin was personable. Spent 30 mins w me answering all sorts of questions. Was relatable, genuine and kind. Doctor Denise Buntin is by far the worst doctor I have ever visited. She not only made my situation worse by burning my skin with an ointment that I told her I was allergic to; she told me hardly anyone is allergic to it. After my skin reacted, she then tried to blame it on me. I would never advise anyone to visit her. Additionally, she has an awful bedside manner. She is just plain too rude to believe. I had the most excruciating experience with this doctor. She lanced a boil on my back with a xylocaine spray as a anesthetic which burned as if my back was on fire. It was not the first time I had visited her (the allergy form was in the notes) so she knew I was allergic; I also reminded her before she sprayed it on but she told me that it was not likely since most people are not allergic to it. The spray left a star-shaped burn mark on my back! I ended up having to go to another doctor for damage control. She was awful and I would never advise anyone to go to her ever! read more

I took my 84 yr old mother to see Denise Buntin, I won't even give her the Glory of calling her Dr. In fact i would not be surprised if she got her degree online. She was EXTREMELY rude and insensitive. And had an Arrogant personality. A better than you attitude. I am from California and i am an EXTREMELY HEALTHY person. My mom has never smoked either. This woman Denise Buntin started asking Which one of smoked . I told her neither one of us have EVER smoked. She started in to some SPEECH about how unhealthy smoking is and she smelled smoke on one of us. Does she not realize we are in the YEAR 2015 - and people are completely aware Smoking is unhealthy.! I think this was the only KNOWLEDGE this woman even has , and she wanted to seem like she actually KNOWS something. What she needs to know is ... Her obesity and obvious poor diet and lack of excercise is a Killer also . Bad diet and lack of excercise is as bad as smoking . So this woman needs to look at herself before she starts condeming others ,and especially condeming someone for smoking that DOES NOT Smoke . She was going to remove a possible skin cancer form my 84 yr old mothers face , she put us in a room to wait . While i was waiting i was checking my business emails , she came in the room and Demanded that i better not be RECORDING , which o thought was a very odd thing to say to someone. The she gave my mother a shot of novacaine , and literally cut the growth from my moms face 10 seconds after giving the novacaine. Never gave the medication a chance to even take effect. Unfortunately my mother has Medi Care and is limited to what Dr she can see. If she had a choice i would have walked out of this Office immediately after meeting Denise Buntin. If your insurance gives you a choice of what dermatologist you can see , don't choose Denise Buntin . She had ZERO patients . HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I had a dime size wart on my right hand. After trying the freeze off, over-the-counter and in-office with Dr. Buntin, we decided the next step would be to numb it and remove the wart by burning it off. I was leery that this would be painful; however they assured me that they would numb the area and I would not feel it. Oh how they were wrong! First I was lectured at least five times about how smoking causes you to not heal as well, and smoking causes this and smoking causes that. Yes! I am a smoker. I understand that I will not heal as fast as a non-smoker, but really Dr. Buntin, You CANNOT tell me that the numbing medicine does not work properly because I am a smoker! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?! You are NOT God and you do not get to choose my punishments. Yes, folks, this is what she tried to explain to me as I was screaming on the table while she had a saudering knife to my hand. I felt every bit of it! Regardless if I am religious or not, how dare you tell me to "Pray and ask God that the pain will be over soon"! This was excruciating and she had no empathy whatsoever! I had always been under the impression that numbing shots had to take a couple of minutes to take effect. She did not even check to see, just started the procedure immediately and could care less that I was screaming on the table. After 4 or 5 times of her scraping away with the saudering knife, I could not take it anymore and made her stop. Did I mention she had a smile on her face this whole time? She must think that makes her friendly?!! I would have to disagree! While checking out, I asked if there was any cream or medicine I could take for the pain....they said "No, just take some Tylenol and you will be fine." Seriously!?!?! Have you ever had a dime size hole charred into your hand? It is not pleasant! Now next day, it is even more sore than it was yesterday and I have a black hole in my hand.
