Updating my review to 1 star based on billed . I was told 4 times by reception there was no copay( which I told her I always have a copay and showed her my insurance card). Which she refused to take cause they already had it loaded. I had payment card ready she stated dhe didn't have a way to add the balance since nothing was showing due. Reached out to billing and they stated since you admitted you have a copay it's due. It's not the fact I don't want to pay it's the fact this location operates in a non professional way and further education is a must, again it's the fact that I told them 4 different times I have a copay and they refused to take my payment and then harass me. Keep in mind it's 25 dollars lol. Payment was made but there integrity and clients will now be what's at a loss for them. On my recent annual visit i talked to the PA about the rash on my chest and explained to her my concerns. She pretty blew me off. Told me my skin was dry and use cream. That was it. Nothing else. Went to another derm who took me seriously. Cared about my issue and did a biopsy and found out it was an infection. read more

Received about 10 emails and 5 texts in advance to make sure I am aware and arrive on time for my appointment; just so that can wait for 15 minutes in the waiting room. Following that I was brought into a private waiting area where I was asked a few questions and told I'd need to put on a gown. I wasn't comfortable with it due to the nature of the issue I have and I am glad I didn't do it, because as of this review it is 25 minutes later and my doctor is nowhere to be found. I would have been sitting here for butt-naked for no reason. In this day and age there are practices that are able to manage their time much more efficiently without any wait times and respect their patients and their time. As of finishing this review it is 50 minutes past my appointment time - no doctor in sight. Terrible experience - should have looked at other reviews first. read more

The people who work here are not doctors. There are no MD or DO physicians here. I went to get a wart removed (which I have done multiple times at licensed dermatologist offices with no issues) and the person who was doing it was clearly untrained. It has been several months since my visit and I now have a massive scar from where they tried to freeze off the wart, but instead just sprayed unaffected skin. the infected area was about 1 centimeter in diameter, and my scar from the over spraying is 1 inch long and .5 inches wide. Office visit seemed to go well, all follow up about results is terrible and unprofessional. They will call you after business hours and if you miss the call and try to call them back, all you get is either an automated message or a call center of different ppl who will relay the message that you're trying to reach them. They will not transfer you directly to the clinic you received care/treatment from either and just keep telling you that the office will be in touch with you. System and process of follow up with patients needs to be overhauled. Don't call after business hours and instead of calling patients at the end of your day (I was told they wait between 4pm-5pm to make calls) start at the beginning of the day so people who are already stressed out about results don't need to have missed calls and wait another 24+ hrs to speak w someone. Also, let patients call the clinic directly when trying to return a missed call about results being in. read more

A good doctor doesn't mean they have a good medical practice. Doctor was good but office staff is the worst. I have great insurance and it changed after the first of the year but apparently the billing dept didn't catch it and kept sending me bills that looked like duplicates. They sent me to collections and cost me dearly on my credit score. Tried to have a conversation with very unreasonable office staff. I can't stress enough to keep looking for a better place to go. read more

I went in to have a mole removed and instead of checking for other skin issues, they told me to come back for a full checkup. It was 7:30 in the morning and the place was empty. The skin is largest organ of the human body therefore to keep it clear and healthy I have annual visits to the dermatologist. I have been a patient of Skin Solutions Dermatology Nashville for over four years to treat my then cystic acne to now hormonal breakouts and mild rosacea symptoms. My initial visit I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Julie Pena. Dr. Pena showed empathy and compassion as I expressed my concerns about my breakouts. She did a full examination of my face, neck, chest, and back even though my face was my only issue that needed to be addressed. She developed a treatment plan that focused on face wash routines and products, morning and night topicals, and oral medications. It seemed to slightly improve my complexion but I was not completely satisfied. My three month follow up visit, Dr. Pena changed my oral medication to one that decreased oil production, incorporated a sun screen, and suggested that I start using a moisturizer at night. I began to see significant improvements in a few weeks and I was so happy. By my six month follow-up my skin was 90 percent clear but I still dealt with the hormonal acne. I was then introduced to Physician Assistant, Kelly Caudle. Kelly treated me with the same respect and courteousness as Dr. Pena so I was pleased. She took her time and thoroughly examined my face. We reviewed, discussed, and updated my treatment plan. An oral contraceptive was added to combat the monthly outbreaks and it worked. My skin is clear and smooth that I am confident enough to leave home without make-up and often get compliments on my complexion. My skin now has an even tone, smaller pores, and the acne scars have disappeared. In addition to a strict skin care regimen I eat well balanced meals, exercise regularly, sit in the sauna/steam room twice a week, and drink lots of water have helped in keeping flawless skin. Overall a great experience each and every time. Skin Solutions Dermatology offers a plethora of services in addition to skin cancer screenings that are provided for optimal skin health. I came in for a mole check-up after noticing a oddly-shaped one on my back. They were able to fit me in right away (specifically within less than a week of my initial call). The check-in process was very simple; had to show my ID, insurance card, and fill out a quick form using their iPad. It was super efficient. I was greeted by a nurse (I believe her name was Samantha) and she was so nice and took the time to sit and explain the process. I saw Dr. Davis, who was relaxed, straight to the point, and extremely nice. I ended up having the have the mole removed, but Dr. Davis and Samantha were both very helpful and quick in doing so. I would recommend coming here, for sure. Everyone was welcoming and worked super efficiently. They even scheduled a full body assessment in order to make sure I have no other issues, which proves they care about their patients. I recommend calling ahead to make sure they accept your insurance and to tell them your issue so they know exactly what kind of appointment to put together for you. I know they have an online scheduling system, as well, but I know you can't use it until after your first appointment. read more

I was very impressed with Dr. Belaidi. Her professionalism, attention to detail, clarity in answering my questions and addressing my concerns was a breath of fresh air. Absolutely loved PA-C Kelly Caudle, she is very knowledgeable was excellent with my daughters treatment I even recommended friends and family to this practice I have that much faith in them! The Bad: Registration and Billing they had my address wrong the bill was sent to wrong address, I never received an email ( Hello another form of communication) I started receiving calls from a collection agency I contacted Skin Solutions corrected my address, I received a bill I attempted to log in online my information was entered incorrectly, I was able to correct the mistakes they made. Once logged in the parent portal it showed a zero balance, I have now received another statement from a collection company. I contact skin solutions billing and they are completely unwilling to make adjustments even though the error is their fault. I suggest if you use Skin solutions before leaving the office Check Double check triple check that your information is entered correctly. Pay out of pocket, Billing and registration is a joke! Love the Medical staff no doubt they care for their Patients, but the registration and billing must have been recruited by cheapest bid. Every time the door opened it was a different nurse, the last one couldn't even pronounce the name of the prescription she handed me. There was no real exam, I had to point out other areas of my body that were affected. Terrible. If you need a dermatologist for medical reasons, just stay far away. They're much more interested in pushing botox than screening skin cancer. All about the money, all the time. Any time you ask a simple question, they tell you to make another appointment in order to get it answered. This is not an issue of time, it's an issue of money. If your office can't even figure out basic billing and scheduling, why should people trust you to tell me whether or not they have skin cancer. read more

I have had 3 MOHs surgeries by Dr Pena all on my face. I am current healing from the last one on my nose. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone. My previous surgeries have healed nicely. I had been putting off finding a dermatologist for a long time and finally made an appointment at Skin Solutins after reading some reviews on my insurance providers website. I went in for a routine full-body skin cancer check and had a wonderful experience. Office staff was so courteous and check in was a breeze. I went to Skin Solutions back in December. They Physician at the time convinced me the only way to find out what was causing my hives was to get a biopsy. I knew that it wouldn't help, but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because they are obviously more knowledgeable, but of course the tests came back and said it was pretty much an allergic reaction or could be 5 other things. So it was pointless. I then had to pay $300 for a pointless biopsy and now have this awful scar that won't go away. I then had issues with my insurance company and Skin Solutions. I finally said I will just pay out of pocket. When I called I told the receptionist I wanted to pay for all my bills. She assured me there weren't any other bills and that would be it. It is now a month later and I received another bill from Skin Solutions. Not only have they lied to me, but they didn't help me figure out anything!!!!! Absolutely awful!! read more

There's so much to write, but I will try to be brief. I was an hour early for my appointment to give myself time to fill out my new patient information. I gave the administrative assistants my identification and military insurance card. They kept my cards until I was escorted to the back. It was then that the MA notified me and said I wouldn't be meeting with Doctor Pena only her student. I had an appointment last year where I was referred by my primary care doctor, but canceled due to preparing my husband and our family for his deployment. I then asked the MA wasn't I scheduled for the actual doctor then and she stated no. I then asked well when do I meet the actual doctor she looked at me puzzled and said she's busy with clients. I said okay. I then told her I was there about dry patch rashes, and that I want to talk to the student doctor about a hematoma underneath my skin which was suppose to be the original appointment last year. The MA stated that the "student doctor will only see you for what you scheduled the appointment for".I told her that I've never heard of such. And stated so I have to make another appointment just to notify the doctor of other ailments that I am having.? That's sounds like you just want my money. Then the MA began asking me about the questions which were in fact the exact same questions on the questionnaire that I filled out an hour ago. I asked her why is she asking the same questions? And what's the point of the medical history forms if you are going to ask the same questions? This visit was an entire waste of time and money for me. The student doctor was wonderful. She actually answered my questions about the hematoma. She also prescribed a cream for my skin that I was familiar with using. By the time I had came in to see the student doctor my rashes had cleared up. The doctor left and the MA asked what pharmacy would I prefer the prescription sent too. I gave her the address and phone number. A week later no call from Walgreens. I contacted them and they stated that they had NO prescriptions for me. Hmmmmm. I called and emailed through he patients portal of Dr. Pena's office Skin Solutions and no one responded to my email. The administrative assistant had me in the system by my maiden name with an address that I didn't give them including an old number. And stated I will have he nurse contact u back and it maybe later because they are very busy. I was frustrated, but politely said I will not be RETURNING. So where did my paperwork go????? I am nervous that they didn't put my paperwork in a file and now someone may have my personal information. Also at the time I left that day the young lady at the desk stated that she couldn't verify my insurance, but I'm sure it works. What? I told her to contact Tricare South and she did and I didn't leave until it was verified. She kept trying to get me out of the door. To sum it up the office looks nice and modern and everyone is running around the office like they know what their doing. If you have time to waste and money then this office may be the right dermatology clinic for you. I was disgusted at the lack of training and how the young lady came into the examining room to get my insurance card again like I didn't have valid insurance, I felt that this was very unprofessional. read more
