I reached out to Aaron when I discovered that my tenants were conducting potentially illegal and…read moredangerous activities in the basement. This somehow seemed to personally offend him. I have worked in the legal field for over a decade and I have never encountered a more rude, sneering and condescending individual. Our first phone conversation was seemingly OK and then it went downhill from there. Afterwards nearly every question I asked was met with disdain. At times he seemed to be on the verge of giving himself an ulcer. He would constantly interrupt and attempt to browbeat. At no point did I feel like this was a lawyer who would have my best interests at heart. My personal favorite moment of our short-lived relationship is when he dramatically sighed and said "Unfortunately, it looks like I will have to do some work for you." I assume no one forced him to be a lawyer. Eventually he decided that we should serve the tenants a termination of lease. He misspelled "dangerous" on the notice. You would think for a 3K retainer he would avoid such sloppy mistakes. He then decided to change his mind at the last minute and that was the final straw. It was my mistake to put up with Aaron's bad behavior but as I was in a time crunch I felt that I had limited options. From the many positives reviews (I assume most of them are real), Aaron does know how to behave like an adult and treat people in a professional and courteous manner. However, if you are one of the people that Aaron decides to show his true and lowly nature to, hang up immediately as this burst hemorrhoid is not worth one second of your time. The only good thing I can say about him is that he gave the retainer back. But I did have to email him for the final installment. Additionally, if you are a landlord seeking representation - call Abdilla & Associates at 630-839-9195.

There were more positive reviews than negative so I thought I'd give this guy a try. Unfortunately…read morethe negative comments ring true. He answered his phone when calling the main number, seemed cordial for the first minute then as soon as he realized I was a new customer he talked as fast as an auctioneer, letting me know he'd text me an email for more appropriate correspondence, mentioning he gets paid for his time, charging a minimum of $200 for 1/2 hour or less. He didn't pause for a second before hanging up, never hearing the details of my case. So yes, has a rude personality as others have said. He never followed up with the email as he said he would. There's so many lawyers to choose from in Chicago. This guy clearly doesn't want any new business. If he's such a "big deal" why doesn't he have an assistant to answer calls?

I compiled a list of attorneys from the Chicago magazine Super Attorney list and every attorney I called either didn't respond or told me that they didn't want to get involved with my matter. I was beginning to lose hope going through the list but he called me back and the first thing I noticed is how friendly and down to earth he was. He patiently allowed me to tell my story and he was the only attorney that said he could help me. After he told me his strategy I agreed and from that day Attorney Leibowitz worked very hard on my matter and kept me in the loop on all his moves. Another thing I noticed in his methods was his professionalism and character. His manner on communicating with parties while advocating for me was really a class act. Along the way there more than a few road blocks that came up and he would fervently deal with each one while simultaneously putting me at ease. At one point things were dragging on from the other end and I was losing hope and he reassured me and worked his magic and my matter was resolved even better than I even expected. I highly recommend Attorney Leibowitz for anyone seeking a knowledgeable, professional, class act lawyer that will vigorously advocate for them.

Retaining Russell Knight was the worst decision I have made for myself and my child…read more He specializes in conspiring with opposing counsel to add a GAL/Child Rep. This my friends is when You are paying two attorneys at the same time. Roughly $1025 an hour. When You stop being able to pay $1025 an hour he withdraws. You will hear "Good Luck, your Daughter will need You." I haven't seen mine in two years. Will Not meet clients in person. I would characterize and say to his face anywhere - You are a sleazy, lying bum.

My experience with Russell found that…read morehe's unresponsive, only gives vague advice in moments he is available, and continually makes excuses as to why he hasn't followed through (email stuck in drafts, phone died, never received info but actually did). I was supposed to have a simple divorce with a short marriage and no kids. Russell disappeared for weeks at a time, charged me for follow-up emails asking where he is and did not negotiate effectively on my behalf. The worst part, he did not seem to care that he is ineffective. The final straw for me was when Russell blocked my number and passed my case off to Victoria without telling me. I had to find out from my ex that Victoria was now handling my case. After 4 months and $4,000 of fees paid ($7,000 billed) for him to keep stalling, I finally fired him and hired a new attorney. Within one week of hiring my new attorney, she was able to negotiate a settlement that was more fair than what Russell was telling me I either had to take or go to trial. My new attorney used the same facts Russell had at his disposal for four months and kept telling me he "didn't know" what I was entitled to without hiring an actuary. My new attorney figured it out in 24 hours by asking two follow-up questions to OC that Russell never bothered to do. If you're still reading this review, and are considering hiring Russell, proceed with high caution and low expectations. The read I got on Russell was that he was purposely dragging out this simple divorce so he could charge as much as possible. For a skilled no-nonsense attorney that will advocate on your behalf, I highly recommend Rebecca Walsh at Muller Law Firm as she got my divorce done in one day and saved me significant money in the process.
