While my personal tastes don't have this as the best smashburger in the city, it is definitely way up there. - Original Cheeseburger: The patty was crispy on the edges like all great smashburgers are. Pretty good bouncy bun. Perfect melt on the cheese. Good amount of pickles and onions. Would have liked their signature sauce to be more distinct. - Green Chile Burger: They have a rotating feature burger, and I chanced upon one with green chile and smoky mustard mayo. Same crispy patty and perfect cheese, but I actually liked this one better given the heat added an extra kick to the burger. Lots of takeout while I was there, though place can seat around ten people inside. Kitchen is quick so orders come flying out and the wait isn't long. Prices are what prices are these days. People are friendly. Overall, it's a really good burger spot that stands out in a city filled with them. Can definitely see why many people love this place.
Although I worked in the area, I had never been here. But my friends have been raving about this place. So one day I decided to come by. Even at 4pm, this place is busy enough that there were no seats available indoors. There are only a few to begin with. I ordered a single American, paid, took the buzzer outdoors while I waited. Outside, there is a bench and a wooden counter with patio umbrellas. The burger itself was very good. The patty was flavorful, though I thought it was a little too salty. The bun was light and fluffy. I enjoyed the sweetness and tanginess of the sauce. Although the burger was good, I don't think I would crave it.
Hands down one of the absolute best burger spots in Toronto! The smash burgers here are perfection--perfectly crispy edges, super juicy patties, and incredible flavor. If you are in Liberty Village, you definitely need to check them out!
I can't believe I haven't tried Burger Drops sooner. They have some great burgers and fries. The bun was pillowy and held its shape, the meat was delicious and I loved the onions and sauce in the burger. The highlight though, are the curly fries! They were so crispy and soft on the inside. Only downside was that there were lots of small bits of fries at the bottom of the bag. Otherwise Burger Drops is delicious and I'd definitely come back to try out more items. They have a few parking spots outside their store.
When I heard that a well-regarded joint was doing a collaboration with a well-regarded Korean joint, I knew I had to try whatever they came up with. So it was that I found myself at Burger Drops on a recent weekend. The place was quite busy but we managed to snag a spot at their outside standing-room-only table. Obviously we ordered the Takja Burger ("Smashed Patty, White American Cheese, Galbi Onion, White Kimchi Relish, Furikake, Ssamjang Mayo"). It was ready about ten minutes later and we began to eat. It's an amazing concoction. The perfectly-cooked patty was accompanied by some seriously tasty and bold Korean flavors. Honestly, it's a dish that's so good it's crazy to me it's not more common. No notes. It's too bad the Takja Burger is a limited-time only thing because it's an all-timer of a hamburger.
Was scootering and dropped by for a quick lunch. We ordered the original single cheeseburger with one being a combo. We ordered the curly fries and a drink. The burger was decent but a bit greasy. Would come back.
Pretty good smash burger, only complaint is I would ask it for extra toasted bun next time. At the weight of double smash and cheese, I felt the bun wasn't holding it up very well. Could've been a tad bit crispier on the edges for a smash burger, but otherwise delicious. Curly fries (5/5), well seasoned, super crisp, and a lot of big curls! Would come here again.
Really classic burger spot! My husband and I really enjoyed the burgers and the curly fries and onion rings - we were absolutely stuffed! Staff was super friendly and energetic! There's a bathroom in the downstairs area and it was super clean. There is limited seating available so be prepared to take your meal to go.
4.5 My #1 favourite smash burgers in the city! I've been here more times than I can count and it hits the spot every time. Also love their curly fries. Tried their banana pudding which was also delicious. Definitely recommend this spot!!
Yummy burgers. Always busy. Pretty fast though. The burgers are always good and they have menu features often so you can try new things.
Was in the mood for some smash burgers and this came up on the radar. The place was pretty busy and with people inside and out enjoying their burger. The kitchen was packed with people producing burgers and fries. Their menu is limited, but that ensures quality. Classic single patty - Burger was a bit disappointing. It lacked flavour, it lacked beef taste and the pickles were cut as thick as the waffle fries... Bun was not my favourite either. in all, not my burger of choice. Waffle fries - These were crispy and fluffy and seasoned with salt. Very good. Would get again.
The best smash burgers AND crinkle cut fries in Toronto! We were at the CNE and decided to finally try out Burger Drops instead for dinner. Located in the Liberty Village, it was a short walk from the CNE. There were a couple tables inside, a bench and standing area outside. Not much seating so it seemed to be designed more as a takeout spot. Luckily we were able to grab a table before a rush of people came in. Ordered the American burger and crinkle cut fries. It was not a long wait for food. The burger was cooked to perfection and it did not become a sloppy, saucy mess while eating. The crinkle cut fries were crispy on the outside, and tasted like mashed potatoes on the inside. Really delicious fast food at reasonable prices. Must-try spot in the Liberty Village area!
Great smashburgers! Definitely one of the best burgers I've ever had and I've had many in NYC! The addition of sides like curly fries, always a fan favorite, and onion rings isn't something I'll see at the best smash burger joints. Why is it that these options aren't on more menus?! There are definitely crispy edges on these burgers and having the option to add bacon also definitely adds a Smokey crunchy flavor profile. Ordering was quick and the wait was minimal but seating is very limited so I had to grab my order to go. Street parking was also a little hard to come by
Could this be the benchmark of all burgers in Canada? I tried the original cheeseburger combo with double patties and fries, and it was textbook perfect!Exactly what I imagine a burger should be. Normally, I'm not a fan of many toppings, especially pickles. But it was that pickles in this burger really hit the mark, adding just the right balance and playing well with the other ingredients. The texture was incredibly satisfying; I'm almost at a loss for words to describe it adequately. As for the fries, they might be a bit too hard for some tastes, but they were the one of two best fries I've ever had in Canada. They were hard yet crunchy, with a chewy, soft interior and just the right amount of seasoning, absolutely delightful. Despite the constant bustle and endless line of customers, the staff were remarkably helpful as well, readily answering my questions and accommodating my requests which is a rarity these days. The cleanliness of the place was also notable; both the tables and washrooms were well-maintained. Now, if only I could have this burger place right in my kitchen! read more
When you're in Liberty Village in Toronto, you cannot miss this place and this place is worth the hype! Small shop, only a few tables to sit inside, mostly takeouts, but there are benches outside for the summer. Their smashed patties burgers and curly fries are the most popular here. Their patties definitely tasted different, crispy (not burnt) on the outside and juicy inside. This place beats Five Guys and Shake Shack hands down! I tried their "Holiday" Burger and boy....I think I'm addicted now especially with the sweetness from red onion relish that wasn't overpowering but instead, enhanced the meat flavour. The curly fries weren't too salty and they give you quite a lot! Simple menu, but enough to satisfy your burger cravings because really, they absolutely know what they do BEST here and they don't need a huge menu with anything super fancy. Burger drops - is it truly the best smash burger in the city? After visiting, this statement is still up for debate. I think I came in with high expectations. Needless to say, it was still really good. Located in the lovely Liberty Village, Burger Drops is a small space with limited seating. Overall, the space is very limited. It is very popular and more often than not you're waiting shoulder to shoulder with others for your food. It was a bit chaotic to order as there is seating on one side, the washrooms on the other, the line in the middle, and those waiting for food scattered everywhere. You do get a buzzer which indicates when your food is ready, which is helpful. Like mentioned before, seating is pretty limited so we ended up eating the food in the car. The burger itself was pretty good. The patties are huge! My bun barely covered it and I ended up having it spilled everywhere. However, it wasn't too oily and just the right amount of crisp for a smashed burger. The potato bun was toasted well, and it was not too soggy. I really enjoyed their house sauce and the caramelized onions. While this is a top 3 burger in my books, I'm not too sure it was the best. We tried the crinkle cut fries, curly fries, and onion rings. The crinkle cut fries were perfectly crisp. If you like onion rings, they are really delicious here! The curly fries were so-so. Their drink options if I remember correctly were pretty standard, I was hoping for a bit more selection. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll be sure to get it again. read more

If you haven't tried Burger Drops yet, you're missing out! Hands down one of the best burger joints in the DT core. I ordered the DOUBLE ORIGINAL, which is made up of two 3.5 oz. patties, griddled sweet onion, American cheese, house pickles, Drop Sauce, all on a toasted potato roll. They've mastered the smash burger, as the patties are juicy but have a crispy edge. This is heightened by how crunchy their house pickles are and I love the contrast of these textures against their soft potato bun! All very simple ingredients, done to perfection. Flavorful without being too salty. I paired this burger with some of their seasoned curly fries and neglected to realize that it comes with their Drop sauce, hence why I also ordered a side of garlic mayo. Regardless, no one complains about extra sauce, it just meant I had more to choose from. On another visit, I picked up their BANANA FOSTER PUDDING with the following description off their site: "caramelized rum banana, with a hint of clove and cinnamon, layered over top of a classic vanilla bean custard and finished with a brown butter cereal crumble." I know for some, the rum really makes this treat elevated and unique but I personally could have done without that touch since I did taste the bitterness from it. However, it truthfully did help to balance out the sweeter components. My favorite part was undoubtedly the crumble on top which resembles granola, giving a nice contrast in texture. Service was quick. Super efficient kitchen staff. The place had a couple of tables and seating for dine in. I do prefer grilled thick patties over smash burgers but if done right I definitely enjoy smash burgers. This place was on point. Ordered the double patty cheese burger The burger was nice and crispy, seasoned well and was accompanied by their signature sauce which was perfectly suited for this burger. Burger joint that does smashburgers really well! Came here for a late lunch with my boyfriend after work and grabbed two double cheeseburgers, curly fries, drop sauce, and chocolate Tiramisu Pudding! The burger is 100% worth the 11.50 bucks. It's super tender juicy and tasty! It can get a bit greasy but that's what these burgers are all about. I really enjoyed how soft the patties were! The curly fries were crisp and flavourful! Love anything Mayo based like the drop sauce and dipped my fries with it! There was a bit of a mishap with our order so we got a complimentary chocolate tiramisu pudding. Ended up trying that! I like coffee flavoured thing so i enjoyed this dessert and the chocolate was rich heavy. All in all i enjoyed my experience here and will come back when I'm craving burgers! read more

I understand the hype now!! I wasn't sure what to expect since most of the reviews I've seen were on the regular burgers and I was looking to try the veggie ones. IMO these are the best veggie Pattie's in town - super juicy, thick, flavourful and a packed bite. We opted for the combos to try the fries, onion rings + sweet and spicy sauce - everything was delicious! read more

Been hyped as one of the best smash burgers in Toronto. We tried the limited time Station Burger which was pretty good. Costed $13 on DoorDash might have been a little cheaper in stores. We also ordered all of their sides and both the crinkle fries and onion rings were our favourite. The curly fries was the least favourite it was a bit soggy compared to how crispy the onion rings and fries. Would come back again as the burgers tasted good! read more
This is my favourite burger spot closest to my home. It is flavourful it is accommodating. It is one of the best fast food places. The service here is impeccable. They will literally cater your food to how you want it to be that's within their reach. read more

Came here with my colleagues. I was told by many people that their burgers are very good. They do a smash burger and when they grill the paddy they make sure the edge gets caramelized. I got the original double patty with onion rings and a drink. The burger was tasty and it was freshly made (they are made to order and the wait is about 10 mins). I think it was a bit too much for me. Next time, I will definitely order a single patty instead. Each patty is about 3.5 oz. The onion rings were super delicious. They were super crispy. Overall, good food. I highly recommend trying this place. Note that seats are limited here. Many people just take it to go and eat it in their office. I will be back for sure. read more

The staff are super friendly, there are sanitizer packets at each table, and the food is really well executed. The veggie burger is easily one of the best in the city; it's crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the flavour is perfect. I had to make adjustments for dietary restrictions and they were super accommodating. The crinkle fries are okay; I just wish they had a cheese sauce like Shake Shack! Tip: There are tables inside, but a lot of their orders are for delivery, so even if you don't see a lot of people inside, prepare to wait about 10-15 minutes for your food. It's worth it! read more
I ordered a single American burger and onion rings. I love how every single onion ring was crispy and crunchy, I hate a soggy onion ring. The burger is made to order and extremely fresh. It had relish, cheese, lettuce and onions. It was extremely tasty and I definitely would go back to try their chicken burger. The staff is extremely friendly and lovely. There is parking in the area if you need it and the transit stop is not far either. There are two tables you can eat at but the place is on the smaller side so it might be better to grab and go. read more

I love burgers. I like asking friends what their favourite burger joints are. One of my friends mentioned Burger Drops. I bookmarked it and was waiting for the right time to head down. That right time was last Friday. After having taken in the Gogh in car immersive experience, I needed something close by. Burger Drops, it was! It has been a few months since I was last in Liberty Village. I didn't have a problem finding Burger Drops. Parking was interesting. There are two customer spots in front of the store. A Mini was parked poorly and occupied both spaces such that I couldn't park there. Instead, I parked next door at a shawarma place. The Mini owner decided to finally leave. I then pulled out of my shawarma spot and parked where I should have been able to, in the first place, in front of Burger Drops. I sometimes wish that folks were more courteous when it comes to parking. I headed up the stairs to Burger Drops. The row of stores in this area is accessible by stairs only. It's a bummer if you are looking for ramp accessibility. A friendly, cheerful woman said hi to me. I reciprocated. I love burger places that have a simple menu. It makes my ordering life easier. I got the following items: - Original double cheeseburger - Toasted coconut pudding - Root beer I paid using my debit card. I tapped, added a tip, and was done. I got a buzzer. The woman said that it would vibrate when my order is ready. Cool! What to do to kill some time? I took a look at the shawarma and sandwich places to the left of Burger Drops. Eventually, I dropped by Popeye's Supplements to browse. I managed to buy a few items. I was completing my transaction when the buzzer went crazy. We ended up talking about Burger Drops. "You will love it," he said. "The onion rings are to die for!" "Good to know. It's my first time ordering. I'll need to get the onion rings next time. I love them!" The buzzer does not stop vibrating until you return it. It was like playing hot potato as I moved out of Popeye's and into Burger Drops. I walked in and a paper bag with ears with my name nicely printed on it was sitting on the counter. My bottle of cold root beer was next to it. I handed back the buzzer and thanked the woman. She hoped that I'd love my meal. I hoped so, too. I happily left and headed to my car. I didn't want to eat in my car while occupying one of the parking spots. Instead, I ended up in a free twenty-minute parking spot on Hanna Avenue, in front of Kitchen Stuff Plus, and ate my late lunch there. I was so tempted to go into KSP aftewards, but I had just shopped at my local KSP two days ago! I dived into my double original cheeseburger. It consists of two beef patties, griddled sweet onions, American cheese, house pickles, and drop sauce, all on a toasted potato roll. One word: fantastic! The patties were smashed. The edges were crispy. The patties were so flavourful and juicy. I loved the sweet onions, cheese, sauce, and house pickles. It's simply the perfect burger. That potato roll was soft and toasted perfectly. I then had the toasted coconut pudding. It was such a delight to eat. The bottom level had dark chocolate mousse. On top of the mousse was a layer of coconut pudding. It was topped off with Oreo crumble and toasted coconut. I loved the contrast between the crunchy Oreo and toasted coconut, and the smooth silk mousse and pudding. It's heaven in a cup. It was the perfect size to cap off my meal. I love a good root beer. This one had more sugar in it than I'm used to, but the root beer flavour was on point. It was refreshing and paired well with my meal. I had an excellent experience. I'm a fan. I felt like it was Christmas when I found out Burger Drops was opening a location in Liberty Village. They had pop-ups before and I figured this was another popup during COVID, but fortunate for me (I currently live in LV) they ended up sticking around for well over a year now! I can honestly say IMHO these are the best burgers in Toronto, possibly all of Canada. Alot of burgers from Toronto rely on trills and frills, yunno ridiculous toppings, massive size portions, sauces, truffles, etc. Burger Drops on the other hand, serve fresh made-to-order smash burgers with simple ingredients; Brioche Buns, cheese, beef and drop sauce! The fresh cut fries and onion rings are a nice touch as sides, but the desserts are the perfect size/portion to end a great meal. The customer service is great as well, they have a good buzzer system where customers wait outside with pagers to allow for social distancing. One of the employees Kat, even memorizes your order if you go there enough! A true 5/5 establishment. read more
This restaurant opened 2020-09-18. It specializes only in smash burgers and fries. The burgers seem to be all the rage so we had to come and try it. We bought the Double Cheeseburger ($10.50) and Fries ($4.00). The burger was excellent but I found the fries too crunchy. The ketchup package they gave was interesting. You can open the spout for squeezing or open the lid for dipping. There are 2 narrow parking spots in front of the restaurant. There is a patio space for outdoor dining. They follow pandemic rules like limiting the number of people inside. People tend to wait outside in the patio space until their order is ready. There is no free WiFi or customer washrooms. Been hearing about Burger Drops for their smash burgers. Since I was in the area for work... thought I would "drop" in!! A small menu. The staff here are very friendly suggested ... since it's my first visit here to try the Cheeseburger. So going with the Cheeseburger with double beef patties. The patties have a nice charred edge, you can taste the quality beef with fried onions, crunchy pickles served with their creamy Drop sauce on a soft potato bun. Loved this ... even with pickles (I usually don't order with pickles)!! It's a little messy for me but all worth it ... so ask for extra napkins. I will definitely be back!! read more
I first heard about this burger place from Jet Bent Lee, son of kinda famous Susur Lee (Iron Chef, owner of Lee's). I don't usually trust people's taste in food but I know Jet is a pretty honest guy. After a couple of months, I've finally been able to try and I gotta say it's pretty good. Cute interior, following COVID guidelines. Kitchen looks really clean and organized, looks like they appreciate their customers a lot with a picture wall. Now on to the food, the burger was really good. Not mind blowing, but really good. Beef was nice and crispy but juicy as well, as smash patties should be. Well sauced, looks like a mayo combination of some sort called Drops sauce. Nice cheese, sweet caramelized onions, proper amount of pickles, soft toasted potato bun. It's got all my checkmarks of a good burger. Definitely a contender to one of the burgers in Toronto. Honestly, pretty close to Rudy's. I can't give a full review because I haven't tried their other food items but for now a 4/5 will do. read more
Made a special trip down Sunday for burger lunch with an old friend. First time going and did not disappoint at all. Portions are very large, I'd even suggest next visit we'd share the fries. Everything cooked to order so a bit of a wait but nothing out of the ordinary. Place is tiny with very few seats so wanting to dine in is like winning a lottery. Staff really friendly and given the portion size and quality I say this is good value. Is it best burger I've ever had ? Nope. Is it way above average - absolutely and I'd say if anywhere close by and craving a hand made burger, don't be afraid to try. Highly recommended. read more

I picked up supper last Friday evening at Burger Drops in Liberty Village. I got a single American burger with pickles and no lettuce, onion or cheese with fries (there were LOTS of fries!) and Gord got a double cheeseburger with lettuce and no pickles and onion rings. It was a good meal. read more

You probably don't think much about burgers. You've had a burger before, probably more times than you can count. After all, they're quite simple: ground beef patty, cheese (if you a real one), toppings, bun. But let Burger Drops be the place to show you that great cooking technique can take the ordinary burger and turn it into an extraordinary masterpiece. Let's talk about the Original burger, which is my favourite of the two permanent options (the other being the American). It starts with the beef. Top quality beef, hand-formed, and then smashed to give it the crust that imparts all of its flavour. Top it with melty American cheese, pickles, and their secret Drop sauce, and then sandwich it between a squishy, toasted potato bun. You'll probably want another burger, or perhaps a double. If you're a fan of thin-cut fries, then you'll love the ones here. Get it with the cheese sauce and you'll leave the shop a very happy person. All this to say that Burger Drops is one of the best burgers you can get in the city. The thought and methodology that goes into these burgers is what sets it apart from other places. Enjoy!
