I really wanted to give this place 3/ 4 stars but the burger and fries were so bad. I love a local fast food chain which is why I chose it. I wanted to go to this bougie French place but it was 30 min away, and I was too tired so I went somewhere close that was rated number 1. First of all, I love the logo, it's a smiley face! The location was really clean but empty - should've been my sign. There were at least 5 food delivery pickups while I was there however. I got the double patty combo with Cajun waffle fries. Everything is done by computer - you order on the tablet. The burger patties are the tiniest I've ever seen. They're too thin even for a smash burger so it was dry, dry, dry. I even added jalapeños and peppers - no flavor. The staff is friendly, they gave me a glass of ice for my canned drink. Everything was average here. The fries lacked salt and the burger missed sauce - they have a famous one evidently. And the entire combo was $22 which I thought was too expensive. Honestly a 1.5 burger and 3.5 for location and service - it was clean for fast food.

Came all the way here because people recommended it all the time on Reddit . And it was fine? Maybe I had high expectations because it was a good burger but nothing life changing. Fries were amazing tho!!! The place doesn't have many tables but we were able to grab one. The service was also great and quick.

Waffle fries - a little salty for me but still delicious

Super happy I was able to find a place with Impossible Burgers while traveling to Canada. I arrived at my hotel room in the evening after traveling some hours needing a burger. As I scrolled through Yelp, Happy Burger caught my eye. I ordered for delivery an Impossible Burger combo, added an extra patty (yup, I was that hungry lol) and jalapeños, waffle fries and a root beer (love me some root beer). The order arrived super quickly. I decided to give the burger a taste without adding any condiments. Yummm-O! It was delicious! It didn't need a thing! The waffle fries were delicious too (a little on the salty side for my liking but still really good). Overall: I was super happy and satisfied with the preparation and delivery of my meal. Next time I'm in Canada and have an urge for a burger, I'll be calling Happy Burger.

I can't speak to ambiance or service since this was delivered to my office via Uber eats. What can I speak to? The burger itself, which was delicious. I went cheeseburger with just happy sauce and I was happy. This was the perfect amount of greasy, saucy, and the potato bun was soft and squishy and basically a great fast food smash burger. The Cajun waffle fries were also still crisp and flavourful. All for a decent price, even when delivered via Uber. I was happy so they delivered on their promise. I will say my friend had all the toppings and her burger fell apart a bit, so keep that in mind.

Amazing. Perfect smash burger. The toppings all mesh well together. Love the waffle fries! - nice crisp without any soggy pieces. Love that they offer vinegar. Reminds me of how I used to eat my fries at boardwalk fries - a little ketchup mixed with vinegar lol. Don't knock it until you try it! Not good parking around the area but you can park one street over and walk back.

Happy Burger specializes in smash burgers. They also have pastrami burgers, Impossible veggie/vegan cheeseburgers, chicken burgers, and hotdogs. Combos include waffle fries and a drink. They also have extra sauces for $1 extra. Being a smash burger, the taste is excellent. But as all smash burgers in downtown Toronto, they are more expensive then the typical burger. A single cheeseburger costs $7.95. Prices have increased by $0.50 recently. We ordered: 1. Happy Cheeseburger Combo ($14.95). If purchased separately, it would cost $15.40 so there isn't much of a savings. 2. Double Happy Cheeseburger ($11.95). Both burgers didn't disappoint. They were as tasty as any smash burger I've had. It comes with cheese, shredded lettuce, pickles, and chopped onions. The waffle fries were also good. The staff has courteous and happy to explain how they make their beef and chicken burgers. There is a unique burger called "Oklahoma Onion Burger". It was invented in 1920 in a town in Oklahoma (USA). They combined onion into the beef (onion was cheap and beef was expensive) into a patty. It became very popular during the Great Depression. This is Happy Burger's second location which opened on 2022-04-22. There is outdoor seating. There is one Hugh chair for toddlers. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant has WiFi but they don't want customers intefering with the bandwidth of their WiFi since they use it to run the restaurant. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible but there is no door-open button. There are separate male/female washrooms but they are too narrow for a wheelchair to enter. There is limited paid street parking. Review 2022-055 You can also find me on Instagram @chuan_chee. Thanks.

Favourite SMASH burger in city. Great to see them busy and love this new location. Fries also excellent.

Fantastic burger! Just make sure to get a double-patty. A single patty is not enough in my opinion. They have rather unusual-looking but tasty fries. The service was great! The staff was super friendly. The only thing I would change is to add an option of real Swiss cheese from Switzerland as opposed to offering cheddar cheese as the only option. I cannot stand cheddar cheese. The reason why I deducted one star is due to their pricing. $18 after tax for a "cheeseburger + fries + pop" combo is too much. I would expect it to cost $14-$15 after tax.

Wasn't expecting anything too much from my visit to Happy Burger on Yonge since smashed burger joints are a dime-a-dozen these days, but what I liked about their menu was that the drink, fries and burger combo was only $15. Most cool independent burger spots in the city charge $12 for the burger itself, $4-6 for the fries separately, and $2-$2.50 for the can of Coke. I figured the portion size would be super small here, but I was wrong - the value is really great relative to other similar spots in the city. Contrary to the base cheeseburger combo I reference above, I ended up getting the Happy Chicken Sandwich combo for $17.95. I added the Happy Sauce for $1.25 as I love to try a restaurant's house sauce. I also upgraded the Fries to Onion Rings for $1. Overall, it came to $22 after tax and a -$1 Uber Pass discount. So... how was the food? Let's start with the side: the Onion Rings. These were phenomenal. They were piping hot, but what I loved was that you get such a big serving of them. They use a nice thick crunchy batter and the taste was pretty good. Not the most distinct I've ever tasted, but the texture and serving size put these over the edge for me. I really enjoyed them. I wanna just talk about the Happy Sauce for a moment as this was the only disappointment for me. It honestly just tasted like a more watery PC brand honey mustard. Was it bad or gross? Absolutely not - I finished the sauce, but I love when a restaurant develops a distinct and original sauce that tastes unlike everything else out there. Of course, Chick-Fil-A Sauce comes to mind and Dave's Hot Chicken as well. Cabano's has a nice sauce too. I would try a different sauce at Happy Burger next time. Now for the main event: the Happy Chicken Sandwich... it was phenomenal. The potato bun had a great taste along with a nice soft doughy texture. It didn't fall apart mid-meal either which often happens with some buns. I loved the thinly sliced lettuce, pickles, and mayo, but what really stuck out to me was the cheese. Typically, places will charge extra for a slice of cheese on a chicken sandwich. The choice of including the cheese on the base Happy Chicken Sandwich is a great one and I hope they keep it that way. The chicken itself has a nice breading and was very juicy. The Happy Sauce was not needed for moisture and instead of being a bland slab of white meat, it tasted great. I want to try the signature Happy Cheeseburger next time, but trust me: I'm tempted to order this amazing chicken sandwich again. As for the staff, they were super friendly and cool. Wait time was like 10-12 mins with steady orders going out and people stopping in to grab a bite. The inside dining area had 6 tables and was clean. We ate on the patio out front which had 4 picnic tables. The patio isn't right out on the sidewalk where there is constant foot traffic within inches of your table, so I really enjoyed that. I will definitely pay Happy Burger a repeat visit. Tempted to re-order this great meal, or try the slightly more economical Happy Cheeseburger combo which seems hyper-competitive. I will order a different sauce next time however as the Happy Sauce left me a little cold.

This place reminds me of when I used to blog and I will find random restaurants during my walks and I walk out very happy. This business was built and operated right: airy, moderate energetic music in the background, clean, fresh and with ample seating. I haven't even started talking about how their burger made me smile (yep, I found that message at the bottom of the box). Their happy cheeseburger does make me very happy as this smash burger was with crisp, delightfully crusty edges and moist centres cooked the way I like. The combo comes usually with generous serving of waffle fries but I am a sucker for onion rings, and happily, that too was deep-fried to crunchy perfection! Foodie finds like this makes me miss my blogging days. Definitely recommend this place

Today, I made the mistake of purchasing a goat roti at Randy's on Yonge Street. At 1:20 PM, the place was completely empty. I approached the counter and was met with no greeting, no smile, not from the cashier nor from the two women near the hot table. The roti shell was undercooked, gummy, and doughy. The filling was 95% overcooked, tasteless potato, with only a few tiny bits of actual goat. The entire filling was dangerously well below safe temperature. When I politely requested a small amount of pepper sauce, a full whispered "committee meeting" began behind the counter about how to handle my simple request. After their U.N.-style debate, the final decision was: "Here's a tiny squirt of pepper sauce." Seriously? Penny‑wise and pound‑foolish has never cost a business more. Absolutely shameful.

Whenever someone brings up something foolish that I did in my youth, I touch the back of my hand to my forehead, toss my head back and proclaim "Oh but t'was in my salad days, when I was green in judgement!" LOL. I really should have been an actress! But enough about The Bard and my career choices, what about the food, right? It was good. I had the Salad Days Special ($8.49). It was romaine and iceberg lettuce, sweet potato mash, 2 dolmades (grape leaves stuffed with rice and spices), tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives, feta cheese, hummus, tzatziki, and your choice of chicken, cooked salmon, smoked salmon, tuna, meatballs, smoked ham or falafel. I chose cooked salmon and asked them to hold the hummus. The salad was huge, but the majority of it was lettuce. Still, a really good deal for $8.49. The cooked salmon was a good size, which I liked. It was cold, but still flavourful and didn't smell fishy. I would have preferred it if the kalamata olives had the pits removed, but they were still ok. They have other set salads or you can make a custom salad. Their model is like Freshii, but I like them much better than Freshii. Staff were nice and efficient. So this is the location in Cumberland Terrace, just west of Yonge. They have another location really close by in The Hudson's Bay Centre, just east of Yonge. I like this one in Cumberland Terrace better because there are a few seats right next to it that is only shared with Esther Queen of the Soups customers. It's a bit more secluded. Note that the Salad Days in Cumberland Terrace is not in the main food court area.
