I love a good burger and Fresh Burger certainly delivered with a juicy cheeseburger and fries. They're located on Yonge, north of Sheppard, on a corner, allowing them to have a decent sized patio. It wasn't busy when I went so social distancing was easy to observe. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries combo with a drink. It was dressed with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and FreshBurger sauce, and was moist, juicy, and delicious! I had burger juice running down my arms! I've been to the Markham location before and after this Fresh Burger took over my favourite Indonesian restaurant in the neighbourhood, I was reluctant to try it. I'm glad I finally came to check it out! Fresh Burger is known for their fresh meat. When they first opened in Markham, they introduced the primeburger and my brother demanded them to keep it on the menu and they did! The Primeburger is super meaty and juicy. It will overpower most flavours. My friend order the double with bacon and couldn't taste the bacon at all. I recommend sticking with the single patty Primeburger. The double was too thick and sloppy. The Primeburger is perfect. Back in the Markham location, the value was teetering on "not worth it" because the patty was so small. The north york location's patties seem twice as big! Big, thick, and juicy.. Totally worth it. I'm not sure if they changed it for Markham as well or not. If you're going to have a burger in the Yonge and Sheppard area, this will be the best you can get IMO. Tell them Charles sent you. You'll get no special treatment and confused looks. read more

Fresh Burger is a no-frills burger joint that's better than the nearby McDonald's/Wendy's (expected) and Five Guys (unexpected). This location near Yonge and Sheppard is no-frills as well, with a simple menu and sitting capacity for maybe 10 people. Given it was my first time at Fresh, I got one of their freshburger combos: a 4oz single patty burger with lettuce/tomato/sauce/cheese (to which I added cheddar cheese and mushrooms), poutine (upgraded from fries), and a drink. The burger patty was tasty and properly greasy, the bun was firm enough, and while they were skimpy with the mushrooms, they were generous with the cheese. This 'generosity' extended to the poutine, which they basically drowned in soooo much gravy sauce (not a good thing for me but others may like it since the gravy was tasty enough). Thankfully, the fries weren't overly soggy because of this, and the cheese curds, while not squeaky, were gooey enough to satisfy. My main disappointment was with the price. This combo (with uogrades) cost me $17, which is cheaper than the high-end burger places for sure, but not as cheap as I thought it would be based on the raving reviews I've read. That said, I'd still recommend coming to Fresh Burger. Sure, it's no-frills and more a takeout than dining spot. But it just might be the best taste-and-value-for-money burger in the area. read more

Fresh burger is a prime example of don't judge a book by its cover. I've always known about Fresh Burger, however I've always hesitated going in due to its not so appealing exterior. Although as time passed I saw positive reviews on Yelp but I would still be too lazy to go in because I saw angus burger and I was afraid it would be one of those thick juicy burgers. Don't get me wrong, I love me a thick burger but I'd take a smash burger over pub style burgers any day. Today I passed by and I saw a huge lineup so I decided maybes the day I try it. I am very glad that I decided to try it. The burger uses a soft bun, when you bite into the burger the bun seems to disappear. There's a really really nice textural difference. The burger is distinct with its layers. The beef patty has a crispy exterior but still juicy interior. I tried a bit of the patty by itself and it would really please ASMR muhkbang for that kronch. And they really don't skimp on the tomato. They use an appropriate size tomato slice where you can actually taste the juice of the tomato. That acidity really helps to cut the greasiness of the burger as well as the lettuce adds a nice freshness. Sauce was a mayo based sauce, wasn't too mind blown by it. But overall really solid burger, 4/5. read more

This is a small location in North York. Not that much space for dine in. But since the pandemic it's only take out anyway. We've gotten take out from here twice now. The burgers are decent & the fries are good as well. If you like your burgers well done you will have to make that request. Otherwise they will cook them medium rare. Second time I got a burger here I asked for carmelized onions & mushrooms. I liked the mushrooms. But it tasted like they put sugar in with the carmelized onions. It's not a taste I like so I won't be asking for carmelized onions again. Service was good. They cooked the food quickly & efficiently. They were also friendly. We came here 15 mins before closing (9:45pm) and to be completely honest we were IMPRESSED. I ordered combo number one, the burger itself was so fresh, so juicy like it just melted into your mouth. The chain offers arguably one of the best burgers in Toronto and automatically is the best burger in the area. Don't come here expecting anything fancy or over the top. Topping has sufficient flavor that I don't feel the need of any extra sauce or seasoning...seems alright. However, I'm not sure if it's from the onion or mushroom topping or something else, the burger kept dripping liquid and I was suspecting that was some excess cooking oil...since the burger indeed tasted a bit too oily to my liking. Another review suggested I get the prime burger and I'm happy I did. I added bacon as well. The burger was great. The patty was obviously homemade and juicy and seasoned well, the bun and toppings were very fresh. I also upgraded to poutine which was also really good. Quality cheese curds and good fries and gravy. I found out that this is actually another location of an already established place that has good reviews as well. Worth a try! read more

I got Combo #1 at Fresh Burger today, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The burger was fresh, the fries were great (not your typical fast food shoestring) and the service was friendly. It's definitely slower than a fast food restaurant, but I guess you can't really have fresh, well made AND fast. The price is a bit higher than I would like to pay for a burger like this, but since there are slim burger pickings in the area (aside from Wendy's and McDonald's), I'll be back.
