Two nasty burgers wrongly served three times!

Date -December-2-2021 No I wouldn't recommend my dog eating here!!! That's how bad it is in Lecompte, Louisiana. One- we ordered 8count nuggets (got 7) ordered 2 double meat cheeseburgers ...only Ketchup and mustard. (Not too hard huh?) no customers anywhere-not busy...sooo then they add Mayo...on both burgers...then we back up and say-only seven nuggets... And Mayo on burgers...can we get no Mayo please... she responds-it's white cheese!!!! the cook in back screams -NO, I added Mayo on both burgers...so she gives us two new ones slapped with ketchup and mustard as you see in photos!! Then I realize we paid for double burgers...-backed the car up again-because the inside is locked at 3:30 pm in the evening for some weird reasoning....then she hands us through the drive through two plain meat patties to add onto our sloppy nasty "cheese burgers" !!!' What in the heck is wrong with this situation??! Like a million things....why are they open period if your business can't even unlock the doors inside or serve a simple three item order correctly??? Health inspectors in Louisiana should pop in ASAP!!! This is disturbing on so many levels!!! Someone do something about this Burger King! Either shut it down or remodel and run the place as if it's a real place that serves food.....out of a billion dollar franchise building!!! I'm so angry about this! It's not the first time either!!!

It's a Burger King, stay away. Life is to short to eat at fast food restaurants. Drive a little further and eat something better for your health and taste buds. You can make it to another food venue. You will not die of starvation. Keep going. Save yourself. I have faith in you.

When you asked for an ice cream cone they took no pride and fixing it

They are super slow. Didn't have onion rings. Didn't give us marinara for the cheese sticks. There is a reason locals avoid this place.

Not many places offer ham and I always loved Sunday dinner ham so that was my choice for lunch. As so many say, they are known for their pies and the wife enjoyed her pecan pie slice. I was a little too full for pie so I got a little dish of ice cream that hit the spot. Service was friendly and efficient. I would definitely stop here again for lunch if we were in the vicinity at lunch time.

Shoot, once again I forgot to take a picture! There were three "blue plate specials" available,…read morefried chicken, turkey and dressing and ham with two sides, carrots&peas, and squash. We got the turkey. For the price(15.99), the serving of turkey wasn't very generous, maybe a scant half-cup of turkey. One the plus side, they did have dark meat, and it has some cranberry dressing. The corn meal dressing was very generous, and moist. It had a generous serving of carrots&peas, not so generous with the squash. We did get a slice of Bumbleberry pie, and peach pie. I was really looking forward to the Bumbleberry pie, as it was supposed to have raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries. I hope that's correct. I was picturing a slice of thick pie just brimming over with fat, juicy berries. Instead I got a thin, flat piece of pie with the bottom 3/4 of the pie filled with a pinkish-red opaque jelly of sorts, and a sparse, then layer of mashed berries on top, just plunder the crust. The body of the pie was just under an inch thick, maybe 3/4" thick. It was an EXTREME disappointment, considering how the town is supposed to be the ""Pie Capital of Louisiana". If I were you, don't bother getting the Bumbleberry pie, but do get the peach; it was outstanding! I wish I had the recipe! The flavor of the peaches came through, it was sweet and delicious, without being heavily sweetened with spices, overwhelming the peaches. Yummy! I'm only rating it a "three", as the service was lacking.

Mama's Chicken -- Opelousas, LA (Where diets go to die and…read morenobody's sorry about it) We rolled into Opelousas four deep, hungry, and feeling righteous. The mission was simple: real Louisiana fried chicken. Not "inspired by," not "elevated," not served on a slate tile with micro-greens. Just fried chicken that makes you question your life choices. With a name like Mama's Chicken, we figured we were at least in the right parish. Then we walked in. Packed. Locals everywhere. No tourists asking what a roux is. That's when you know you've done something right. The table immediately locked in on fried chicken orders. Boom. Boom. Boom. Shrimp and fish po'boys tried to flirt from the menu, but we stayed faithful. This was a chicken church and we were ready to worship. Then... betrayal. A small sign. Barely noticeable. Almost whispered. Chicken & sausage gumbo today. I folded instantly. Zero resistance. Straight to jail for crimes against the fried chicken alliance. I ordered the gumbo and red beans and rice because I have impulse control issues and the Lord understands. The food landed like a heavyweight title fight. Fried chicken stacked high--golden, crackly, unapologetic. Light and dark meat with that perfect crust that snaps back at you. Mac and cheese doing grown-folk mac and cheese things. Fries seasoned like somebody actually cared. And then my bowl showed up. That gumbo was dark-dark. The kind of roux that lets you know it's been places. Thick, rich, unctuous, and absolutely not here to be polite. Chicken and sausage swimming like they belonged there--because they did. The red beans? Creamy, silky, plump, and riding that rice like they've been together since high school. Let me be clear: You don't know fried chicken gumbo. You think you do. But you don't--until Mama's humbles you. Mama's Chicken doesn't need hype. It doesn't need branding. It doesn't need your Yelp opinion. It just keeps feeding locals and ruining outsiders' expectations of what "good" used to mean. Come hungry. Leave happy. Nap immediately. And don't pretend you're ordering the salad.
