I ordered a meal at 9:50 pm, the counter worker told me they close the dining room at 10pm. I said fine and waited for my food, before i got my food the worker cleaning tables yelled at me that I can't eat in the dining room. I ignored her. I sat down and began eating she started yelling at me. I went to the counter and asked for the manager, told her I was feeling intimidated by the rude behavior of the worker, she apologized and told the worker to stop. the worker continued to berate me as I ate, she then came to the table and threatened to call the owner, I told her that would be a good idea. They didn't give me the hashbrowns and I sent my husband in because I'm 39 weeks pregnant and didn't feel like getting out of the car. The service here is always so slow. Oh my goodness, it does not matter what time of day or how little or big my order is. The speed of service is something that they do not stress enough here. The sandwiches are also just so so here. It looks sad and depressing. On the other hand, the lobby is always tidy and clean. The manager on 1st shift is awesome!! Always friendly, always personable, always with a smile! I used to hate this BK but after the recent remodel and seems like shift in managed and employees, it's becoming my favorite. My $1 large coffee and $1 small frappes are a Deal all day long in my book. Coffee always fresh and hot and made as requested. You'd be surprised how many places can mess up something as simple as "1 cream, 1 Splenda please". The frappes are always fresh made and frozen, not watery and melted like I've received from other locations. Inside has been super clean on the few occasions I've ran in because they drive thru seemed too long. They outside could use a cleaning up but as long as my items are current and fresh, I can over look that. Can't beat that $1 any size coffee and $1 small frappe. Plus, they now have that $1 taco. I am so disgusted with what I just observed in the kitchen at this location. The funny thing is, I came here for a plain burger - nothing else. The woman on the Burger station, albeit wearing gloves (like it matters) actually wiped her nose/face with the gloved hand, proceeded to wrap the plain burger and microwave it... while I stood there in shock wondering what the health department would have to say about that, I noticed a second employee hovering over the back station (I think where the chicken sandwiches are made) repeatedly eating lettuce and other toppings with her hand! I literally saw her hand go into her mouth and back into the lettuce!! Ohhhhh! that plain burger - was a treat for the dog and I threw it away upon my exiting the restaurant. So there you have it. Doesn't even deserve 1 single star. The Middle Eastern manager Trina was the rudest manager I've ever come across. I've been there twice and both times going were absolutely miserable. My girlfriend and I were at the drive thru the second time we went, and the one who took our order wouldn't listen, was rude, and when we got to the window we sat there for 15 minutes just to see 3 different employees standing at the front window talking to each other laughing, and goofing off while I'm sitting here holding the amount owed waiting for them to open the window and take my money. There was only 1 other person in the drive thru behind me so there's no reason why they couldn't at least take the money for my sandwiches. And when we called to see if we can still get our free 2 double whoppers that she promised us, she told us that we ordered something completely different, and was yelling at my girlfriend being hostile and volatile. 0/5 would not recommend anyone, if I were to say anything to anyone about this establishment, I would tell them to go to McDonalds, or the other Burger King a mile over. So far the worst experience I've ever had going to any fast food restaurant. Trina the manager has worked there for many years, and when I go through and read the comments and see reviews regarding her and how poorly she does at customer service, I'm honestly bewildered that she still works there. I see that it's not just the manager that's the problem, it's the owner and and district managers fault for not pushing for better services for us customers. I've been to this Burger King about 4 times and that's only because it's the one nearest me. The service here is amazingly horrible. The first two times I went there I waited 15 minutes for my food before finally going up to the register to see what was going on. Turns out they forgot to put my order in so they were not even making my food! I talked to the owner and told him my situation but he said my order wasn't in the system so basically I was SOL. I finally convinced him that I already paid and finally got my food. After 20 minutes I was finally eating. The food was decent, I'd rate it about 7/10. Tried to order breakfast from an employee and she had the hardest time getting the order right. When I tried to explain again what I wanted, she got rude and blamed me for the mixup, said it was my fault etc. I pull up to the window, the order was wrong. I explain again, more arguing from her and she tells me what my new total is. When I try to give her the difference, she starts insisting I give her all the change back then give her the new amount. I just handed her the difference which made her madder. Finally I told her she didn't have to be rude to people just because she doesn't understand. MAGGOTS!! Bill grabbed me breakfast this morning from Burger King. It was all great until I took the last swig of my coffee and felt something odd in my mouth. I bit down and then immediately spit out out on a napkin. I was inspecting it, trying to figure out how a piece of rice had gotten in my coffee, when I came to the horrifying realization that it was indeed a MAGGOT!!!!! I had to choke back the urge to vomit as I continued to inspect it, wondering how a hard, dried up maggot could get into my coffee!!? After brushing my teeth and mouthwashing a couple times, I still couldn't get over it. I worked in food service for years, so I've learned to let a lot slide. I just couldn't get over this one though. So, after I finished my work, about 3 hours after the discovery, I tried calling the number that Google had listed for that Burger King- of course it didn't work. I had to go dig my receipt out of the trash and call the number there. The reason for this post is because of that phone call. If I have an issue, I'm pretty calm, I'll talk to the manager and move on. I've also been on the other end, as a restaurant manager, and if there was anything I could do in a situation like this, I would do it. Apparently, Christina, the manager of the 23 & Van Dyke- Shelby Twp, MI Burger King, doesn't think that way. I asked to speak with a manager, she then snapped "yeah that's me" so, I politely explained the situation about the maggot and instead of apologizing, she immediately scolds me for not calling earlier, stating "You should have called right away, why didn't you call when it happened?" Seriously? I called within hours. Sorry, I was working and trying not to be sick. When I asked her why she was scolding me instead of apologizing, she copped an attitude, offered a hasty apology and then asked "Well what do you want me to do about it? Do you want to come in and I'll give you a free coffee?" Ummmm- no. No thank you, I don't care for any more maggot coffee. I told her that I would like her to find out why there were maggots to begin with and maybe be a bit more sympathetic to upset customers. To which she replied that "everything was sealed, so she doesn't know how it happened, what else do you want from me?" Wow. I was just floored. Clearly, she didn't care and the conversation was pointless. I thanked her for her help and hung up. So, if you like your coffee without any "EXTRAS" please avoid Burger King at all costs.
