Gave City Burger at 17 & Van Dyke a try last night. Really had a good experience. The restaurant was clean and well stocked. I got the Dallas burger and added 2 onion rings as an extra topping. It was fantastic, bun was nicely toasted, the patty was substantial and there was a nice amount of toppings. They also included a nice portion fries with the combo. My wife got the Tuscan burger and really enjoyed hers as well. Would definitely stop back next time I'm in the area. read more

After driving past City Burger many times I stopped in to give it a try. I ordered the New York combo. The service was friendly and fast. The order arrived hot and well prepared. The burger was excellent and toppings generous. One minor complaint, the pickles were tough, not crunchy. The fries were very good and the side of slaw was just okay. Came here the other night for a burger and fries. The girl who took my order was quite rude and seemed annoyed. I had initially wanted a vitamin water and you'd think she would've looked at all the drinks they did have before coming back and all she said was "we don't got it" then proceeded to get annoyed with me when I asked what else they had and she's like "I'd have to check" okay you should've looked at all the options the first time. Mom really needs a booth to support her sitting style so we were bummed that there were no booths available and it was very cold inside BUT the service and the food was so good we overlooked this 'bummer'. The cashier/server was very professional, polite and efficient. My strawberry shake was huge and delicious. Mom had the big burger with the egg on it; she loved it. The fries were plentiful, hot and delicious. They have a wide variety of items to select from the menu. These burgers are 5 stars. When you order with fries everything comes in a nice cardboard box which keeps things nice and hot when getting take out or delivery. The fries are very good. I use to think 5 guys was the best quick burger, now city burger is my new burger spot. read more

I ordered at the counter and dined in. The customer service was nice. When I order she let me know everything that came on the sandwich. That's always a plus for me , just in case. I ordered the Bean Burger , I was excited that they had this as an option oppose to meat. The sauce is perfect . I didn't like that the veggies were cut so largely , made it rough to bite. The flavor was on point. Their regular fries are perfect ! Not too much seasoning and you can taste the potato. The portions were perfect as well. The ambiance was cleanly and I loved the decor of different cities , goes well with the theme. Restroom was clean as well. The reason I gave a 4 is because they leave the condiments and napkins on each table and mine were stained pretty badly . This included both the napkins and condiment bottles . Second time here. First time I tried their Green Bay burger which was a double decker burger with American and Mozzarella cheese, with homemade Ranch dressing and Mac and cheese. (About $14). It was a bit overwhelming, and just okay. The fries were a little unremarkable too. But I gave them a second try. Today I had their New Orleans burger with grilled mushrooms, zesty mayo and traded out American for the Swiss cheese that was offered. Add some lettuce and tomato and called it good. The mayo gave it a nice zing. Came with fries, coleslaw and a drink for $11.99. The fries still aren't my favorite but they are different. They have wraps, salads and shakes too but I haven't tried those. I give them a 3.5 rounds to 4. read more

Walked in the door at prime lunch hour on a Saturday. The place was empty. No cars in drive thru, no patrons in the restaurant, no employees in sight. I came here because another place nearby was closed unexpectedly. That was a stroke of good luck. My Beyond Burger was cooked just right. The fries were some of the best I've had lately, tasty, hot, and crisp without being overdone. Even the coleslaw was better than expected, not too saucy. My burger was good, I got the Miami with no Mayo to make it vegan. I wish they had a vegan Mayo substitute to go along with the burger besides ketchup but I will say it had guac at the very least. You can tell everything was made to order and fresh which I loved. The date suggested we come here last night and after looking at their website, I guess City Burger has two locations at either end of Van Dyke. There's this one close to M-59, and one at the other end at 12 mile and Van Dyke close to 696. We picked this location since it was closer to my job and a halfway point for us so nobody would have to drive terribly far. Walking in, the place has some pretty decent decor. I have no clue what used to be here before, but it has a drive thru window, so I would guess maybe fast food? They have a menu on the TV overhead, but we were given paper menus at the register to review with all their menu items. The date went with the Detroit Burger and I went with the City sliders with onion rings for a dollar upcharge. We also both got fountain drinks for a grand total of $27 and change. While I did have some sticker shock, that's about $13 a person, which isn't bad at all. The food came out about 10 minutes later and it was a lot of food I tell you! I couldn't finish my 4 sliders and took 2 home with some onion rings. The date was able to finish all his food and we both were surprised because he said he wasn't that hungry. I would come here again in the future and try a few more things but only if I'm starving since it is a lot of food.
