Since 2020, i have seen a gradual decline in quality and the variety of offerings. Tonight was by far the worst i have experienced. Even the server said that there have been allot of complaints regarding the food. The order was simple. Chicken strips, fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. The chicken and hush puppies were way over cooked! Hard, dry and i simply could not eat them. The fries were limp, cold and greasy. The worst was the coleslaw! Warm, obviously not refrigerated and looking spoiled. My wifes food was the same. They offered to remake the order, but since we both ordered different things and both orders bad, i chose not to accept that. If they remade the food, i cannot believe it would have been better. If they have not hit rock bottom, i cannot see how they can continue to survive. This place used to be packed on nights. It is so sad to see an icon die like this. Long enough to wonder if we were forgotten, as we watched other patrons come and go and pickup orders going out the door. She eventually came back and informed us that they were out of mushroom gravy, but we could do peppers and onions instead. We said that was fine. A few more minutes went by and they finally brought our food out. No peppers or onions. The beef tips definitely were not med-or med rare, but they were still good and most of the pieces were tender, although they were all different sizes so some were overcooked. Still a great flavor to them and the sides were yummy. Our waitress came back to say they were working on the peppers and onions. By the time she came back the second time, we'd finished eating our food. She apologized that no one brought them out to us. Oh well. In my visits here, I've had breakfast - eggs cooked perfectly over easy, and the shredded hash browns are excellent. For my lunch visits I had the Cheeseburger Club (excellent), the Chicken Livers (very nice, not the least overcooked), Country Style Steak, Hamburger Steak, and twice I chose Vegetable Plates - they have around 20 vegetables on the menu. I have tried pintos, stewed potatoes, collards, cabbage, fried okra, fried squash, mashed potatoes, corn, and cucumber salad.
