We ordered two burgers and sat ourselves at the counter, enjoying the happy chatter between the kitchen and hostess while we waited for our food. I got the Number Seven Burger (pimento cheese, american cheese, smoked bacon, onion ring, slaw, and cajun mayo) as a combo which came with their peppery fries and a drink for $15.50. One gloriously messy bite and I was in transports. The BEEF...So high quality, dripping with flavor and perfectly cooked that I felt like I had blasphemed against the burger gods for defiling it by ordering it with so many toppings. Based on my research, the cut of meat that is used is USDA Choice, not Prime, and is cooked by the "Sous Vide" method by "suppliers", whoever they are! The meat is shipped to the individual restaurants, where it is cut into bite size pieces, and finished there, either in an oven or an air fryer, depending on whats available. There is no info available how long a time can elapse from the initial cooking to the serving, same with their roast beef. This follows their approach for the signature roast beef, it is shipped cooked to the individual sites and reheated. I chose to try the sandwich, which has nuggets, Havarti cheese, crispy onions, pickles, and mayo. This is not a good sandwich - the meat was dry and chewy, and because the meat is cut into "bite size" pieces, the sandwich is awkward to eat, meats pieces keep falling out, making this more effort than I care for! And I simply don't get the Havarti cheese - cheez! I will not order the Steak Nuggets again - probably worked reasonably well in a well controlled test kitchen, but out in the fast food world dominated by underachievers, this is a recipe for culinary disaster. I would suggest that you go instead to Texas Roadhouse and get the kid's Steak Bites.

She made him pour out the tea and get water instead, but the way she handled the situation was uncomfortable for everyone in the restaurant. A little kindness and discretion can go a long way. I arrived just before noon on a Thursday. It wasn't busy, so ordering was easy. But the prices stopped me in my tracks. A little bacon cheeseburger alone cost more than $10. By the time I added a small fry and a regular drink, my total was over $20 after tax and tip. The tipping part is what really stuck with me. When the payment screen prompted me to leave 5%, 10%, 15%, or 20%, I couldn't help but wonder--what exactly am I tipping for? This wasn't table service. I ordered at the counter, filled my own drink, grabbed my own condiments, picked up my food when called, and would clear my own table. Yet, out of guilt, I still tipped. That little moment of hesitation left a bigger impression on me than the food itself. And the fries--once a fun "extra"--didn't feel like a perk this time. My "small" order was far more than I could eat, and I ended up throwing half of them away. What used to feel generous now just felt wasteful. I enjoyed the meal, but walking away, I realized I'd remember the cost, the tipping awkwardness, and the wasted fries more than the taste of the burger. It made me think: for the same $20, there are plenty of other places where I could sit down, be served, and leave with a better overall experience. In the end, I'll probably shy away from Five Guys and fast food in general. They still make a good burger, but the value equation just doesn't add up anymore.

All the above items were solid, with the chicken sandwich and cheeseburger being the best choices. The crinkle cut fries here are one of the few such cuts that I'll eat. The prices are reasonable for the time. As I said all the items, I've had were good, but none of the items are the best in the Triad, or even in Forsyth County. Most of the spots that I would consider a better choice for each items are locally owned, stand alone restaurants. Though 2 chains provide better items, as we- Culver's and another NC chain, Cook Out.
