Not bad for a hotel restaurant, and convenient. My colleague and I decided to dine here rather than going out for dinner as we have a busy work schedule this week. I ordered a veggie burger and side salad. We also shared an appetizer, firecracker shrimp. The shrimp was delicious, and my veggie burger was very good with fresh toppings and made to order. The salad was just ok, probably poured from a bag and the croutons too. Service was good. Our server brought us drinks as needed and checked on us a few times. I would give it no stars if it would let me. The weight staff is inattentive completely. You would think for being in a nicer hotel next to the convention center of the food would be better, but it was all seemed like it was pretty just frozen and just warmed up. My sister got chicken fingers and they forgot to bring the sauce and she told the the inattentive waitress that it was missing and she didn't bring it back until after my sister was done with her food. In between can never get her attention because she was too busy, flirting with four construction workers that decided to come in there to eat. She only had her and the four construction workers and she couldn't even pay attention to everyone. If I could review the hotel, I would, but the hotel wasn't great either and it's all owned by the same stuff. So there's just management problems everywhere. Save your money and go to other places. They're way more places in town. They're locally on there are much better and there's a lot of places within walking distance of this place that are way better too. read more

Here for the hotel. I always like the convenience of a restaurant in the hotel when in town on business because it takes away the stress of trying to find places when you're from out of town and short on time. The hours suck. They're not open for lunch and closed on Sunday nights which is when I arrived. The food isn't amazing but it's pretty good. I think almost everything I ordered had an issue (the chicken sandwich was a looong wait, the waffles didn't come with fruit and whipped cream, I got wheat instead of white toast, they were out of any wine I would order, etc) and the service isn't super friendly. But for the convenience a solid 3.5 stars I'd say. read more

The food is pretty good. The fried pickles had a nice crunch and the sauces were good. The fish sandwich was really good it wasnt overfried or anything and it wasnt greasy and the flavor was really good. The fries could use a bit more flavor but theyre good. The ambiance is nice other than it is in a hotel and we arent in their busy hours so it is pretty sparce and quiet. Since there's barely anyone here the service has been great. read more

We were told this was a great burger joint however we were disappointed over and over. The service was bad. The classic burger was supposed to come with grilled onions but came out with chopped raw onions. We asked for medium burgers and they came out very well-done. The food would have been delicious had it been hot. From the appetizer to the meal it was barely warm. The fries seem like oven fries you make at home that weren't baked long enough. The nacho fries had a fabulous flavor and would have been divine if they had just been hot. My husband loved the BT Boss burger. It was super cheesy and had a great flavor. This was my second time giving Burger Theory a chance. This time it was for breakfast which isn't hard to mess up, so I was hopeful. My fiancé and I both ordered omelettes. Ham, bacon, sausage, cheddar cheese, peppers, onions with a side of breakfast potatoes and toast. Both ordered the same thing. I was shocked to see the portion sizes varied greatly when our plates came out. He had about 1/3 bigger of a portion size than I did. The toast should have been advertised as croutons because it was hard and crunchy. The cherry on top of it all was the black hair I found in my breakfast potatoes. Yum. Our waitress was so sweet and tried to rectify the situation by offering a replacement meal or free lunch, but we needed to head back home. The meal was purchased with "breakfast coupons" through the hotel the restaurant is located in, so to get a refund the manager needed to coordinate with the hotel. He advised that he was aware of the situation and was sorry. I was disappointed to see that he was aware of the situation and didn't come talk to us at our table, but instead we needed to approach him about the matter. That's just poor hospitality. I will not be visiting a Burger Theory again unless it is against my own free will because it's just that bad. I understand now why I've never seen this restaurant as a stand-alone establishment. read more

Been coming here for a few years now. Service was excellent and super friendly. But now that they reloaded in staff, covid most likely, service and food is horrible. It take 30-45 mins to get your food, this is with only 2 other 2 person tables, the food comes out either cool to the touch or completely wrong. ( eggs over medium were eggs over well). Who has another 30 mins to wait on a remake. Very very disappointed. read more

We were staying at the Holiday Inn so thought we would give this place a try for supper just because it was convenient. We should have ordered in somewhere else. The menu is a bit limited. My friend ordered a beer and I ordered the strawberry margarita. Her beer was brought in a bottle, wasn't asked if she wanted a glass. I waited over 20 minutes for my margarita (there were 2 customers at bar). Because it was made with a purée..it separated so was a bit chunky in flavor. I ordered the breaded chicken salad. My friend ordered the spicy chicken wrap, no blue cheese, add onion. It came with blue cheese on it and the onion was put into my salad. Minus the onions, my salad was good. The fries were good at least. We were given our check, not asked if we wanted dessert or anything. I think our waitress may have been the only one, but there were 1or 2 hostess folks that just sat down and talked to each other. The staff just seemed oblivious that their purpose was to provide service. Unfortunate. read more

Burger Theory has delicious burgers. My favorite is the Veggie Burger, Hubby enjoys the Rueben Burger. Delicious onion rings and fries. The view is amazing. Watching the Ohio and the barge traffic and pleasure boats. Down river you can see the Riverport and up river the Blue Bridge. The service is great! read more

Just attempted to place a carry out order during Burger Week here in Owensboro after verifying Burger Theory was open for business. The gentleman i spoke to said he could certainly take my order in a moment. I agreed, and I could hear the gentleman on the phone perfectly as he gave change to customers and asked kitchen staff if there was anything else they needed from him. I also clearly heard kitchen staff moving around the kitchen for around ten more minutes before the phone was picked up and I was hung up on. If I'm leaving a bad review, it has to be bad, really, really bad. We decided to go for lunch with some old friends today and this was our pick due to the location on the river. There were a total of five occupied tables and it took over thirty minutes just to get a club soda for me and coffee for our friends. It took another hour to receive our food order but one person in our group had ordered oatmeal which took another twenty minutes to make it out. The hanger was real. Great service, great food and wonderful view. First of all our server was awesome, she suggested a drink for my wife and it was delicious. She checked on us and made certain everything was ok, after my wife told her how much she love the drink she came back with the bill and a hand written note with the drink recipe. The restaurant is very hard to find and is awkward in town to get to. Once inside, hunting down a hostess to seat us was impossible. The hostess on duty SAW us, but literally avoided us. After thirty minutes of waiting to get seated, we sat down and were waited on after another fifteen minutes. We were at the restaurant for over an hour before we got out food. The food was good, but not "fresh out of the kitchen" hot, just "was prepared ten minutes before you got it" warm. The price was reasonable, but not for the quality of food we got. Would not recommend, there are MANY other restaurants in town that offer a better bang for your buck. read more
