This place is really good! I love how the lights are dim & both of our steaks were cooked to perfection, the fried mushrooms & cheese sticks are a must have! Also our waitress was really nice & attentive! This is a perfect date night spot!

The service was excellent and the restaurant was warm and inviting. The food had high and low points. High: The Pepperjack cheese sticks with marinara dipping sauce were very good. The Ceasar salad and dressing were exceptional, possibly the best we've had. The fries were absolutely delicious. Low/ok: The baked Mac & Cheese was room temp and tasteless lacking any real seasoning or flavor. The Cole Slaw was bland and just ok. The 48oz Copper Creek Tomahawk Ribeye was visually impressive, but was tough and difficult to cut even with the provided steak knives and had quite a bit of gristle throughout. The sections that were edible were OK and had good flavor, but an edible 10 ounces of steak is not worth the premium price of this cut. I regularly grill Choice grade cowboy ribeyes from Sam's Club over charcoal that are much more tender and flavorful. Overall it was a good experience, but we would not order the Tomahawk Ribeye again.

The food and service were AMAZING! The steak was exceptional and the ambiance was great. The cheese-sticks were the best I ever had.

Dine in | Dinner | $30-50 Owensboro has a new 5 star restaurant! We made our reservation online and requested a booth. There were definitely people standing around wishing for that booth but the sweet hostess saved it for us. We were there Saturday night at 6, very busy. Caleb was a fantastic waiter. Very professional and apologetic for our small wait to order cocktails. No problem, the drinks came quickly and in the perfect antique glassware. Looking around I saw several different types of beautiful glasses depending on the cocktail. We both ordered a small salad before dinner. It was super fresh with homemade dressing. I ordered the steak Oscar, absolutely delicious with the sweet potato mash. The decor of this place is so warm and welcoming. They got the lighting just right? Don't miss out on this fine dining experience.

We had an incredible dinner celebrating a birthday. 5/5 service, 5/5 atmosphere, 5/5 food. I rarely order steak at a restaurant because it's tough to beat a prime steak made at home, but this steak at Callas was 5/5. High quality, from known national suppliers.

Very beautiful ambience here. The coconut drink wasn't very good-not fruity enough for me and too strong, but the food was good. I enjoyed the duck and thought it was cooked well and paired nicely with the sauce. The sweet potatoes were especially sweet and almost brown sugar encrusted deliciousness.

Atmosphere was absolutely great, the vibe was awesome. Service could've been better. Now let's get to the worst part, the steak. Went in for Valentine's Day and ordered the 48oz tomahawk. Presentation was great, the first bite was great, however once I cut into the center and found it cold and rare after asking for med rare, I was greatly disappointed. I personally don't believe in refired steaks as it dries the steak out, regardless I sent it back to be cooked to med rare. Steak comes back out not much different, first photo is before the refire, second photo is after. This was an absolute waste of $105 and 48oz tomahawk, I'm not sure what chef is preparing a 48oz tomahawk without an instant thermometer but i suggest they should invest in one. It's truly unfortunate that they're offering a great selection of meats, with high end steak house pricing, yet they cannot cook them to temperature.

This is by far the best restaurant in the tri-state area. Food was cooked to perfection and drinks were amazing. Highly recommend

Very good bartender. I had a bourbon and it was served right away. The amount was generous and not expensive.

My waitress was super nice and extremely skilled at her job. I had the ribeye with a loaded baked potato and house salad/ranch dressing. I left thoroughly impressed. I ordered the ribeye medium and it was absolutely perfect. The seasoning was much better than Texas Roadhouse. The baked potato was the best I have had in years, nice and soft and perfectly topped. The salad was fresh and not overloaded. The overall experience felt very relaxed. Even though it was seven minutes until closing when I finished eating, my waitress enthusiastically asked if I wanted desert. This is a quality restaurant worth every penny. I will be back.

The restaurant was very large and noise level was quite loud. Our server was amazing! She had our refills ready throughout our visit. We started with breaded mushrooms and we added a side of ranch. The batter was crispy and not only were the mushrooms hot and fresh but sooo tasty! The sauces are all house made and they do not disappoint. I ordered the house chicken with the chef's vegetable of the night, which was squash, zucchini, peppers, and onions and a side salad. I didn't get a photo of the side salad but it was topped with bacon crumbles, hard boiled egg, house made croutons, and it came with a piece of cheese toast that was to die for! My chicken was juicy and flavorful and the squash was delicious. My date ordered the chicken fingers, waffle fries, and onion straws. The portions were very generous and everything tasted amazing. The menu had many options to choose from and the prices weren't bad at all. It was a great place for our date night! Highly recommend!

My colleagues and I were staying in a nearby hotel and after driving past Famous Bistro I checked out the Yelp reviews. So many five star reviews! We decided to give it a try and made reservations for a Thursday evening. We dined outside because it was a perfect October evening. Our server was wonderful. We started with spanakopita bites which the chef recommended and they were flakey and delicious. The homemade bread was excellent. I ordered Salmon Dijonaise and it was served with herb roasted potatoes and Brussels sprouts. I also ordered a side of haricot verts. Everything was perfect, and the salmon had great flavor. My colleague ordered a small spinach salad and Sundried tomato pesto penne. Servings were generous and we ended up asking our server to box up half of our entreès. Lunch for tomorrow, yay! The food and service could not have been better. Highly recommend this family restaurant.

I had the salmon pita with lemon chicken soup. The salmon cheese mixture on the pita was unique and beyond YUMMY! My husband had the grilled tuna and bacon on wheat with potato salad. He's not much of a foodie, but he seriously enjoyed both and ate every bite, despite the large portions. We live 40 minutes away but Famous Bistro is going to be our new favorite. Great wait staff too! They were hustling and attentive without being pushy. I can't wait to go back!
