Saturday lunch while in Lawrenceville. I'm not usually a burger sit down guy, but in searching for lunch spots in the area, I kept seeing recommends for this place. It started in trying to go to the south side location but it was just a window, and I really wanted to experience the full outing so we doubled back to the strip and Larryville. Anyway - we sat down and were helped immediately by a very animated waitress with red hair? Place is very industrial - large signage and some tv's - kind of like a Buffalo Wild Wings. I ordered the double stack make your own with beef, regular bun, cheddar, bacon and burgher sauce. As my side I swapped for mac and cheese. The food came out fairly quick. The burger was VERY GOOD. Seasoned nicely, stacked high, and really just a solid burger. I added an extra side of the burgher sauce as well to dunk the burger in which was really good too. The macaroni was good - just wasn't hot. The cheese sauce was nice and flavorful, not bland at all Overall - I would come back here. And I would recommend.

Underrated spot right in lawrenceville. Service is great and very nice and open space inside. The smashburgers are some of the best i've had in the city. Upgrading to the rosemary fries is a musttttt!!! They are absolutely delicious.

When you first walk in, you're greeted by a sign that says "Seat Yourself." It took a little while before someone came over to take our order, so service felt a bit slow at the start. I ordered the full Smashburger of Shadyside, which comes with Swiss cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms, and mayo. The patty was definitely smashed as advertised, but I found it a bit too thin and dry for my taste--I usually prefer a burger with a bit more juiciness and some pink in the middle. Decent burger overall, could be better with a gently toasted brioche bun. All burgers come with a side of fries, but I upgraded mine to the Dirty Fries for an extra $4. They were topped with chili, cheese sauce, pickled onions, cilantro, and roasted chiles. Good ratio of toppings to fries, definitely was full by the end of the meal. Plenty of street parking is available. I didn't try any of their beers or ciders, but it seems like a cool place to hang out for a drink--definitely has that laid-back vibe.

Stopped in while visiting Pittsburgh, but unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the spot. I'm not sure if the air conditioning was out, but it was very warm inside, we were literally sweating while eating! The burgers were decent, but the buns could really use an upgrade. A brioche bun would've made a the burger 10X better. Overall, nothing really stood out. That said, the service was great, and the layout of the restaurant was cool. It just wasn't our top pick.

Polamalu burger w/ mac and cheese

This was my first time here. I ordered Polamalu smash burger with a side of cheese and mac. The burger was so delicious, slight crisp to the outside, fully cooked inside, each bite was delicious. The Mac and cheese was surprisingly made with their homemade cheese sauce which was amazing, similar to a creamy velveeta cheese. Bun was also soft and fresh. The bartender was very good and attentive and appreciative. Hats off to the staff and cooks. I am not from the state and come to PIttsburgh, Pa twice a year and I came here as something new to try and this will definitely be on my list to come back to. Good food, good beer, good service

A group of six of us went here after a quick stroll through Lawrenceville, and it was a mistake. The sign at the entryway said "seat yourself," so we began moving two small tables together. A server immediately reprimanded us for doing so, then told there was a bigger table in the back. One of the girls went to pull up a chair to the end of the table, and the same server got an attitude with her. The same server interrupted us and said "123, eyes on me," to take our orders, and it was obvious that it wasn't a joke. One member of our party specifically asked if the kids grilled cheese had the same cheese combination as the adult one, and our server said yes. This is an important detail. The food came out relatively quickly, and it was good, but nothing remarkable. However, the member of our party who ordered the grilled cheese immediately noticed that it was just a Kraft single and not the same cheese blend as the adult sandwich. The server acted severely inconvenienced when she asked to send the sandwich back. I am so, so disappointed in the service we received. None of us had been here before so we were excited to try something new, but we were all let down. I think it's safe to say that none of us will be back.

Came here after walking on the trail over the weekend! The indoor was closed for a private event, and we weren't sure we would be comfortable outside since it was a hot day. The shaded pergolas were great and they had music playing on the patio! The service was great with a little outdoor window to order at! We got the polish hill burger and a specialty burger. The shoe string fries were very good! The burger patties were smashed and crispy, I think the patty could have been more flavorful but the overall burger was good. and I'd definitely recommend the mojo sauce. They had about 8 beers on tap, and it seemed like there was something for everyone.

I got the Oakland burger this time. But honestly I wanted to order multiple because I was having a hard time deciding. It was so good. I can't wait to go back and try another or make my own. Our waiter was super nice. And it wasn't super busy we went on a weekend night. Sat down right away. Also easily found parking on the street.

Great food, service, and beers! I had the Morningside burger. It was excellent. I like that it had an egg, bacon, and mayo. I had the Wainwright and Deutschtown Pils beers. Very good! Also, great service from Kelly. You gotta go!

Our server, Lauren was on her first shift at Burgh'ers and she was cracking us up the whole time with funny jokes and quips! She made our experience so much better. The burger was awesome - I was starving so I got a triple and it was exactly what I needed. Best part about the extra patties is that they give you an additional piece of cheese on each patty - pro move. If getting a triple, I would recommend asking for extra sauce on the burger. Fries were also really good. The restaurant is an industrial vibe, nothing crazy, but overall a good time.

Casual smash burger joint in Lower Lawrenceville. The food was delicious -- the themed burgers were fun, and the Polish Hill burger was very tasty. They had a variety of seasonal beers on tap, and everyone in my group who tried one was happy with theirs. The portions are very filling! We all ended up getting the mini smash (single patty) vs the full smash (double), and between all of the toppings that come on the burger and the pile of delicious rosemary fries on the side, even the guys were full after that. This Burgher can't wait to go back and try their other burgers :0)

The atmosphere was OK, the burger was good, the beer was best. Those metal chairs and bar stools may be easy to maintain but they are not comfortable and on a cold evening...they are cold. I built my own burger and I enjoyed it-chili, cheddar, bacon, and jalapeño. The pretzel app was very good. I had 4 different beers and they were all excellent. Our server, Steven, was attentive and did a good job. The fries were great!

Service was fabulous! I can't remember out waitresses name but she was very attentive and had a great personality. Food came out speedy fast. I felt that the food was a little expensive for it just being burgers and fries. Our meal came out to be $80 when we only got a draft beer and water to drink... Ambiance is very casual. Don't have to dress up. Overall it was a good burger and so were the sides, but the meal felt overpriced. Burger reminded me a lot of five guys.

Wow! What a great sandwich!…read more My wife and I visited Pittsburgh for the first time on July 30th, 2026. This is gonna sound crazy, but we stopped in for a sandwich at 9:00 a.m.!!! They've been around since 1933 and when you walk in you can feel the history. The walls are covered with painted caricatures of famous locals. This place is an institution. My wife and I sat at the counter and ordered a roast beef sandwich. All sandwiches come topped with tomatoes, coleslaw, and french fries. Yes, you read that correctly, they pile fresh cut fries onto all their sandwiches! The sandwich was massive and delicious! We are so happy we sought this place out and you will be too! Seek it out!

The sandwich itself was okay - just wished that the pastrami was actually hot - it was a little weird, since the items seemed to have been heated on the grill. Bread was forgettable. The fries were tasty, as they were hand-cut; honestly, they were better pulled out of the sammie and eaten separately with the cheese sauce. Staff were friendly, and there were a handful of people dining in; we were thinking of stopping by earlier, but there was a line during the lunch rush. You can also order online for a convenient pickup. Metered parking available in the area. +cheese sauce +tasty fries +friendly staff

My daughter and I went to this establishment today to buy milkshakes for our employee's for 'Staff…read moreAppreciation Day'. We chose to go here instead of making the drive to Chick Fil A on McKnight Road for milkshakes. My daughter & I noticed 1 worker handling food with no gloves on, pulling her hair back to a bun then proceeded to handle the food without 1. Not washing her hands after she handled the food and 2. not putting gloves on to handle the food. I politely asked the employee, do you wear gloves to make milkshakes. She responded, yes we do and she was very polite about it. The other worker came and asked her what I said and she told her. The other worker came to us with MAJOR attitude taking our milkshake orders. She proceeded to say to her co-worker, please pull my hair back because I don't want to hear anyone BITCHING about it. My daughter said, Ma'am, my mom just asked if you wore gloves because she was handling food, she pulled her hair up and then she handled food again without washing her hands nor did she have gloves on. The young lady became extremely upset and shouted.....I AM NOT TALKING TO YOU. At this point, both my daughter and I were shocked. The conversation became heated because we were explaining we asked a simple question and she was very upset, uprupt and rude about how she responded to the situation. I then asked for the manager, she stated she was the manager. I said can I have a conversation with you. She stated 'no you cannot' I am done with it. I asked her, how can you not address a issue that needs to be addressed. She stated again, I'm done talking about it (VERY RUDELY). From the time she started making the milkshakes her attitude was off. And boy, from the taste of the shakes you can tell. They were not good and extremely watered down. There is so much more to this encounter. Such as shame. So much for NOT going to Chick Fil A. We will take the drive the next time. Manager could use managering skills. I'm still so upset.
