    Thanksgiving Turkey sub
    Jessica S.

Had to try the thanksgiving turkey sub and it lived up to the hype. Although kind of pricey and the size of the large felt smaller than 12" subs at other places but i would get it again for sure.

Medium Hook n Ladder sub with pickle.

The subs were well-made and fresh. We had them delivered and they came on time. The price was half off. We got a good deal.

Lots of meat on a fresh roll. We tried the tuna our next time around and bang! It was one of the best tuna subs I have eaten. The owners are two friendly guys that take their product to Helltown to get the word out. I would like to go to their actual place next time I am in the Woodland Hills area.

We ordered the sandwich without dressing, in the future I'd get mayo or oil and vinegar. Good sandwich even dry. The slugger is meatball with crumbled hot sausage and banana peppers. Great sandwich! Spicy, flavorful, hot, with a shot of flavor every time there's a banana pepper bite. The star of the meal tho was the potato salad. I think I tasted pickle juice and mustard in the wet part of the salad, and they also added bacon. I kept picking at the potato salad even though I was stuffed, it's so good! I'm glad this place opened close, I'll be back for sure, and will def try out different sandwiches next time too. Oh yeah, Mancini's buns! Yum! But be careful, the soporific effect of these buns is not to be underestimated.

The side of the meat that was not covered with the juices completely, it was sticking up, was dark and hard, inedible. We did order late in the day so it was probably sitting there all day. The owner and his wife were very nice and I feel bad cause we liked them so much to post an honest review. They were fiery friendly. It's located in Carrick in a questionable part of the neighborhood, I've lived here for over 39 years and never noticed it. That could be because I normally would not visit any of the establishments where the store is located. Parking is difficult. There is no area to eat in so take out only. They do deliver locally.

Sam's Sun? How about Fox's Moon?…read more I know Sam but I don't know his son so I'm not sure why I'm doing this review. As much as I love to support family businesses and as much as I agree with every other of you which says Sam is a wonderful nice friendly genuine man, I really don't like his food. The chicken seems to be flavorless Frozen chicken strips instead of actual seasoned Middle Eastern chicken and the gyro does not do anything for me either. The only reason he gets three stars is because he is so nice and it's family-owned.

I had to stop into Fredo's after seeing photos from my daughter who had just spent two weeks in Bosnia. The interior of Fredo's is like stepping into a small shop you'd find in Bosnia. The yellow walls are welcoming, and cozy. There's a small variety of snacks, and beverages on one side of the shop, and a large counter where you'd place your order. There are a few tables for dining in, but I chose to take my order home. I ordered a small Cevapi and Sirnica, plus picked up some Croatian chocolate for dessert. The Cevapi were delicious skinless beef and veal sausages, that were nicely savory and well browned. A cup of chopped onions, and what I think was a yogurt sauce came with my Cevapi which added more flavor and an overall goodness to the Cevapi. A bread similar to a pita made eating Cevapi easy, and filling. The Sirnica was equally delicious. A wonderful mix of flaky, chewy phyllo pastry, and cheese baked inside the pastry. It definitely hit the spot with a nice balance of a light pastry and mild cheese. I ate the leftover half cold, and it was just as good! The lady at the counter was friendly, and patient with me. The menu is truly a deli menu full of sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. If you're wanting to go for the House Specials, you won't be disappointed!

They have a couple of tables inside for dining and we chose the one closest to the coffee bar. The one employee there took our order and made our food right next to us at the counter/kitchen set up located behind the register. We did see several takeout orders get picked up while we were there. My mom had the gyro salad and I ordered an Italian with no onions or dressing. My mom was disappointed that the "greens" were actually chopped romaine and/or iceberg. The gyro meat was flavorful and had a nice crisp to the outside and the homemade dressing was delicious. The Italian was also decent. I'm picky when it comes to hoagie rolls and this baguette was soft and fresh. I typically prefer more of a crisp exterior, but this was fine. The meat and toppings were fresh and the sandwich was served with a small bag of Lay's on the side. Overall, we had a nice experience dining in the small deli, but with so many options in the Pittsburgh area, I can't say we were wowed enough to be repeat customers.
