Older lady is rude and condescending. She tried really hard to annoy me. She succeeded. Won't be using this place ever.

DON'T GO HERE! I should have did my research and stopped being lazy in wanting a place close to home. I dropped off a blouse and a coat that I picked up in Los Angeles and stated that I needed by Friday. I came to pick up my clothes a week later and my gorgeous blouse was marked with black grease like stains all down the back of the shirt. The lady says, "We no clean". I tell her the shirt was not like that when I brought it to her. She said, "You bring like that to me, I no get stains". (Insert a slew of expletives) I lost it. I demanded to know why if there were these stains that just magically appeared on the shirt, that she didn't call me and let me know. Her response? "We too busy, I forget". I lost it. I demanded that she pay for my shirt and I would take nothing less. The owner ended up coming and writing me a check for $50. It was $20 less than I paid, but at that point, I just cut my losses. Great place to get items altered / tailored! This was my first time here, so I can only speak to this one experience, but they really hooked it up. I came to them with a fancy dress with three layers of silk / chiffon that needed to be shortened by about 2-3 inches. I was on a tight time constraint and budget, as I was leaving within a few days for a wedding on the east coast where I needed to wear this dress. I went to a different place in Queen Anne originally, and they told me it was going to cost $280!!! (??!) I went to Burien Plaza cleaners, and they said they would be able to get it done within the time constraint (which included 4th of July weekend), and it would cost about $65. They did an absolutely beautiful job. It came out perfectly, I'm so happy. The employees were extremely kind. One of them even offered to carry the dress out to my car when I picked it up! I'm a fussy, designer-wearing, difficult fabric-loving stain magnet and the couple who run this place hit it out of the park every time. I'm really pleased I found them. Everything comes back perfectly, carefully pressed and gently handled and they got Korean gochujang paste out of white silk so really I can't say better than that. Highly recommend. Unreliable, rude, and not customer-service oriented. I've used this dry cleaner a few times, and they were adequate, but after my last experience, I'll definitely be taking my business elsewhere. I dropped off a coat for cleaning on a Friday. They told me it would be ready on Tuesday. I came back on Tuesday to pick it up, but the clerk said it wasn't ready yet. When I asked why, she said, "I forgot." No apology or anything. She told me to come back the next day and it would be done. When I returned on Wednesday, the same clerk was working. She rang up my coat and other items and told me the total was $26. (The coat was $12.) I asked for a discount, because the coat wasn't ready on time. She said $25. Wow, a $1 discount...I was not impressed. Then she started saying that last time I was in, I didn't pay, or I insisted on a discount...I don't know, it didn't really make any sense. That's not true, because I never asked for a discount before. I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she confused me for someone else, but still, it's not very good customer service to accuse your customers of trying to cheat you when you're the one who messed up the order!! There are plenty of other dry cleaners in Burien. I'll be giving them a chance to earn my business now, because Burien Plaza Cleaners has lost this customer. read more

I've been bringing my clothes here for over 15 years, and I have never had a single reason to complain. The owners are really nice people, always friendly and helpful. English isn't their first language but we've had no trouble communicating and they've always gotten things right. My clothes have always come back clean and in perfect condition, and they do excellent mending and alterations. They work fast and their prices are reasonable. I can recommend them without reservation! (I don't know where some of these other people here have been going, but it sure doesn't sound like the Burien Plaza Cleaners I know. Especially the fool who talks about the washing machines and the location next to Fred Myers... Umm, excuse me, but Burien Plaza Cleaners is next to Safeway, three blocks from Fred Meyers, and it's a dry cleaner, not a laundromat!! If you're going to trash a business with a two-star review, couldn't you at least make sure you're reviewing the right place?) read more

I needed my pants hemmed after picking them up from Martini Cleaners because of a dispute with them and it was near closing time for most alterations places. Luckily, I drove straight by Burien Plaza Cleaners did a U turn and went in. The lady was super nice, made me feel very comfortable and helped me quickly but not rushed. She asked me if I was a student, I said yes and she gave me a discount!! On top of all that, she would have my pants ready to pick up three days sooner then Martini Cleaners would have. It's amazing how this 15 minute experience changed my mood in the best way for the rest of the night. They've 'pinned' me as a new, loyal customer!! read more

Bummer experience- nice Nordstrom shirt was returned with a stain on the pocket (that wasn't there when I brought it). Noticed it when I got home, so I brought it back this morning. The lady, in her broken English, basically accused me of being a "bad man" (I think that is what she said) for pointing out the stain and would not reclean or offer any other solution. Won't return to Burien Plaza, I think Michelle's note below describes her attitude well. (I usually try not to judge a business by the actions of one employee, but I'm pretty sure she is the owner, as I have never seen anyone else work there. Trying Nu-Tone down the street(which is actually cheaper!). They were nice when I walked in and think they can get the stain out! (???). read more

I've really enjoyed Burien Plaza Cleaners. The folks there are nice - turn around is quick - and they are responsive to my concerns. My husband and I have needed dry cleaning for uniforms and dress clothes for more than 30 years. We've lived all over the states and used all kinds of cleaners. Burien Plaza is at the top of our list. The trick is to start a personal relationship with people. Get to know them and be interested in their lives. Listen to their stories and they'll listen to you. As far as the cleaning goes: tell them explicitly what you need and what you don't need. Example: The uniform shirts my husband wears always have a neck wring - I'm sure to point that kind of thing out. And he hates starch - it makes him itch. So each time I remind them "no starch!" The more that we talk, the more responsive they are. read more

Do not use this cleaners! Poor service, unprofessional and rather than clean they damage your clothing! Ruined expensive Kate Spade shirt many black stains inside of blouse and covering front. They denied all responsibility claiming it was turned in that way. read more

I took my pair of Seven jeans in to get hemmed, the clerk seemed like a nice lady. (Boy was I wrong) When I picked up my jeans and took them home to try them on, one leg was shorter then the other and one flared out way more then the other from the difference in lengths. I went back to have her fix them and she told me to press them and they would be fine. She said she measured them and it was correct. Another customer came in to pick up her cleaning while I was trying to get the problem resolved and she just brushed me aside to help this other customer. I didn't think anything of it at the time but now i know she did this so the customer wouldn't hear her tell me there was nothing wrong with them. I asked if she could fix them and told her I could not wear them the way they are and she flat out refused, started yelling at me that there was nothing wrong with them. Now I have a pair of expensive jeans that I absolutely cannot wear. The cost to do them wrong was $20.00. (which seems a little expensive) That place will never get my business ever again!!!!! read more

I typically don't like to write bad reviews, but I've given this place a chance and ultimately they just do not do quality work. They literally ruined a pair of jeans trying to do a simple hem. To make matters worse, their attitude toward customers is completely unacceptable - they make you feel like it's all your fault. The woman was even screaming at me. I don't care what the issue is, you NEVER treat a customer that way, especially when they were the ones making the mistakes. You can't do crappy work and then blame the customer when they say something about it. I would never recommend this place to anyone - they don't do a good job and they don't treat their customers well. Try Martini or Strom's cleaners instead. read more

Absolutely awful. Do NOT go here. Had a dress altered there. I had to go back at least three times for them to get it right. No apologies from them for the inconvenience this put me through. Gave them a second chance and requested that they hem some drapes. Hemmed 2 inches too short. They completely denied any error on their part. That night I received a call from them asking for me to come back in so they could refund me the cost of the alteration. I thought that they had re-considered their poor service. I was so wrong. When I showed up the next day, they claimed that they had called me to charge me for the curtains, which apparently they had forgotten to do when I picked them up.
