UPDATE!!! The new manager (who was the former awesome manager) totally understood what had happened and immediately refunded my $20, after going in SEVERAL different times and interacting with other employees and a supposed manager. That manager is now gone and the great ERIN is back!! I'll still have this as my go-to dry cleaner because Erin made it right! I've changed my stars to 4 instead of 1! (I give Erin 5stars though) This has been my go to dry cleaner for years, loved any and all interactions with the owner. Such a gem of a man. Well he's still the owner but he is in Arizona and his son is running the business now... I came in to the laundry mat to wash our comforters on Saturday. I put a $20 bill into the change machine and got NOTHING out. Reported it to the lady working the drycleaner desk. Apparently she is the manager. She said she couldn't do anything about it and the owner would be in "tomorrow afternoon" and he'd have to look at the camera's and then could give me my $20 back. She said she had absolutely no way to get ahold of the owner. Hmmmm.... Well I came back the next afternoon, Sunday. That was Easter so they had closed early. Came back again today, Monday. A different gal at the front told me I have to deal with the manager and that she will be back tomorrow. The same lady that had already told me there is nothing she can do. She even accuse me to burn her machines when clearly I don't comer often. Is my problem that you have old ass machines that don't even work? Quality of the cleaning was great, but the customer service was exceptional. My mom was in Des Moines for a weekend and brought a linen blouse in but then subsequently forgot to pick it up before leaving town. After she called them, they offered to mail it back to her at no additional charge (despite my mom insisting that she would cover the cost). The blouse came back perfectly pressed and packaged. I've been going here for ten years without one single problem until last Saturday. I had a date with my daughters and needed to pickup my pants. Every single space on both sides all the way to subway was full. I pulled up next to a car at the end. As I was walking up to the door, I saw the guy working run up and jump over the hole in the counter, he flung open the door and proclaimed, "you need to move your car". I told him I would as soon as I got my clothes. He told me he wasn't going to give me my clothes until I moved my car. We had a fairly long discussion - but it was very clear the parking monitor was not going to give me MY clothes. I even asked him to call the manager or the owner to Mahe sure he was following their wishes - he refused. I was so mad. I ended up pulling into the drive thru and getting my clothes. Ill never come back. Period. I don't ever want to deal with this kid again, and there is only one way to make sure that doesn't happen-don't come back. I was going to go to the store Monday morning but I still hadn't calmed down. As the week wore on I realized it's their business, they know - or should know who they employ. I decided early on to not talk to the but instead just write a review on yelp. I want to add--the owners, the (I assume) managers, the staff - I've never had an incident. Every single one of them has always been very nice, friendly, courteous-my clothes have always been done right. But this kid deciding to control what goes on outside the store, him REFUSING to give me MY clothes, him REFUSING to call the boss. I don't need that stress for the privilege of paying you $50. No thank you. Im done. I'll find another cleaners. Fwiw- I usually park legally. The last two times I've been there, that little strip is busy and there are a lot of cars. By the numbers - even if someone came to the drive thru-which I've never seen - but if they did- the is nobody in the drive-thru. I'm the next person to be waited on. If you need your clothes by specified date for an upcoming special event, don't take your clothes here. Not only is it likely will you not get your clothes cleaned by the scheduled ticket date, you'll also get a bunch of excuses why they don't have your clothes ready and they won't return your clothes to you so you can take them somewhere else for service. I've used this business in the past and they were one-two day late returning clothes - I could work with that. But this time, not only did my family and I not have our clothes for a memorial event, this business had the same excuses (equipment is down, manager had personal family issues, clothes aren't tagged/bagged yet, etc...) why my clothes aren't ready, and the manager won't return my property! Apparently they don't do the cleaning there on location. There are hand written notes/signs posted on entrance door and counter asking that you call first to see if clothes are ready. I called several times, no one answers that business line. Three times I returned to this store hoping my clothes were finally ready and they are not! It's nearly two weeks!! If this business valued their customers, they would contact customers to inform them their clothes aren't ready so you don't waste your time/gas coming down there on scheduled pick-up date, and would offer a discount for the inconvenience. Instead what you'll get are excuses, no service and certainly not your clothes! I'm contacting BBB. read more

I've been using Royal Fabric Care since we returned to the area in 2010 and couldn't recommend them more highly. They have done everything from laundering my dress shirts to dry cleaning my wife's and my suits to getting out tough stains to cleaning an antique down comforter we thought couldn't be cleaned one more time. Most recently, they took care of having my aging leather jacket relined and restored. In this case, they out-sourced to their leather specialist, but he (or she) did a fine job -- in keeping with their overall high standards. Nope, never again. Turned in four white uniform shirts and three pair of dress pants. They all came back looking worse than when I turned them in; dingy, smelly, double-creased, and stains still present. Insult to injury, they must have pressed them with too hot an iron as they came back with "shiny seams". If you like your clothes to look well pressed and clean, try elsewhere. read more

It has been awhile since I went to one of these. I searches for quarters for days just to walk in and see the machines take card! Verd modern, I guess. There is a row of larger washers. I used two and fit two comforters/blankets in each. There are smaller machines though I didnt use those. The dryers- I put both of my loads in a large dryer for 55 mins. One comforter was completely dry and the others would benefit for 30 more minutes if not less. Personally, I thought that was really great with the thickness of what I was drying. read more

I have been using Royal Cleaners off and on for about 20 years. Last couple of times I have seen mostly new faces and a new female manager (?). I have not seen old owner Luke in quite some time. I have noticed staff attitude is more and more apathetic bordering on arrogant and rude. Today was final straw and I will probably never return. I walked into store, wearing a mask. Immediately I noticed four employees behind counter all unmasked. I was told by manager(?) if I wanted service I would need to walk around corner to a drive up window. I told staff I felt this treatment was hypracital, as they were not masked or socially distanced. I am from a small town on the east side of Washington and I had never been to a laundry mat before. I am a flight attendant in Training and had to get some of my laundry done that had been piling up on me. I came into Royal Fabric Care Cleaners very confused to how any of the machines work. Within seconds Becky was right by my side helping me. She was very personable and more then willing to help out. She is a great employee of Royal. I have on multiple occasions been witness or victim of the rudeness of the staff here. There was one instance where a member of staff was very rude and passive aggressive to a man who had charged his card to the wrong machine by mistake. The customer was not upset at all but when he simply asked if he could get a refund the employee was very rude to him. I have also been turned away twice when coming in to do laundry. I get off work late sometimes and if I'm even a minute late they will not let me clean my clothes, and are also very rude about it and unapologetic. My roommate and I often came here because they took cards at the machines, but the convenience isn't worth being mistreated by staff. They must not need the business that bad. read more

A lot of the dryers were out of order. Put in a dollar in a dryer and the machine didn't start staff couldn't retrieve it. Spent $5.75 on 2 loads for 45mins each - clothes were not even yet dry. I mean it was hot but the clothes still felt like it was wet. So I had to use 4 separate small machines and paid another $5 dollars for 20mins- thinking maybe it will dry faster. But damn it was still not yet dry. Sigh. Struggled for 2months having to pay a lot of money on dryers that didn't work or could not really dry the clothes. Only convenient because I lived 10mins away. Every week I come to this place- people would be stuck like 3 hrs for the waiting game and having to watch them move there clothes around from one dryer to another because they thought it was already dry but they had to wait longer because it wasn't . So far it was actually 6 large dryers that worked pretty well. Bummer. So best go after 2pm where the machines are pretty hot to dry them quicker and less money spent, if you go in the morning you'll end up spending $3.75 for jus a load when I believe it's decent to actually $2.25 read more

This business gets 5 stars, the employees are so patient they have to deal with every stupid customer who has never washed thier own laundry , and man a dry cleaning counter. I can't believe the reviews on here of course the place is at times unkempt because there are several customers who leave the trash don't clean up after thier kids and generally give the attendant a hard time. Rude customers who feel entitled to park wherever they please...move aside Mr. Entitled and wait like everyone else for a parking space. I have never been so happy with the cleaners and thier work on our garments an amazing job for employees that work for minimum wage. No employees should have to deal with the type of customers that come into the establishment , I have witnessed customer washing there own feces and an employee clean it up ...BRAVO ..cause I wouldn't do it. They clean the washers nightly and change the lint drawers on a daily basis, If you don't like it find a new cleaners but for me and my family we will always be loyal to Royal. read more

Horrific Cleaners, as well as customer service. If you are in the fabric care business for anything other than getting clothes clean and ready to wear again, you A) Need to find another line of work, and B) Stop fraudulently claiming you know what you're doing. Seriously - how difficult could it be to clean and press a white 'business' shirt if you are in the cleaning business? On the stitching of my collar there were little brown imprints from where the press had remained too long, on what appeared to be too much starch. I took it back one evening and asked the completely disinterested desk person if there wasn't some sort of conscious person who checked them when they were bagged to leave the store - her response, without even making eye contact: "When do you want this back" (Wow! I wanted it back right then - clean.. Oh well. Super sorry to bother her, eh?) When I went back to pick it up a few days later, hoping to speak with someone in charge, I ended up speaking with the owner (a woman), who could not have cared any less. You hear stories like this and you think to yourself "No... this person must be exaggerating!" Nope. She just couldn't have been bothered. So I checked the shirt before I left, only to discover a dark grayish smudge on one of the collar tips. I couldn't believe it. Wow... you'd think that in a day and age when retail and service places need every dollar they can get, and with the number of competing dry cleaners that SOMEone would care.. just a little .. but nope. When I pointed it out, a young man behind the counter, rather beligerant and who interrupted a lot... said... that is not a stain.. that is from the glue in the collar.. I do 30,000 shirts a year.. I know. In the first place, If you do 30,000 shirts a year and they all come out looking like that, there's something terribly wrong. In the second place, I have been ordering my shirts from Paul Fredrick for Years... I've had them cleaned 100's of times.. and have NEVER had that problem, or anything close to it. This is the First Time. I did a little research with some dry cleaners I know in other towns who explained to me that it was most likely too much soap in the wash, and with these new 'reduced water' machines, there's not enough water to get all of the soap out, hence the searing into the collars. You'd think an "Expert" in the cleaning business who does 30,000 shirts a year might know that - but he didn't. Nope.. I will not be using this Destroyer of Clothing again - they DO NOT CARE. read more

This cleaner destroyed clothes I dropped off for cleaning, leaving an entire sleeve nearly torn off. They didn't disclose the damage when I picked the shirts up, but were happy to take my $$. I found the damage on my own and went back to the cleaner to explain my concerns and to get a refund for cleaning of the destroyed shirts. Employee claimed he remembered these exact shirts more than a week after cleaning and that they were wrecked when brought to them and that I should just have the shirts tailored to address the damage. No offer of a refund, but instead some dude calling me a liar and completely dismissing my concerns and his failure to provide the service I paid for. I've been going to this cleaner for 8 years and had a myriad of issues that have been pathetically dealt with, but this takes the cake. From now on, I will gladly drive miles out of my way to avoid giving this local business another dime. read more

Its ten days until the wedding it's a Sunday morning the say we all can get together to the last finishing touches done and two out of six bridesmaid's dresses still need to be altered. The original place that we planned on going to was closed on Sundays which we were not told and we had to pay over the top prices! So we did a search on the web and found Royal Fabric Care Center and called ahead to make sure they are able to help us. We get there and its all service with a smile, got measured, and told us the dresses will be back by the end of the week, which is way faster than other places that said it could take up to two to three weeks. AND THE PRICE! Way less than what everyone else wanted! Super fast, super cheap, great service with a smile! This has got to be my favorite spot to do my laundry and dry cleaning all in one spot . The employees are helpful but busy usually there is only one employee so it's best to pack your patients or do a couple of tutorials on how to do your own laundry it is self serve coin laundry so you won't be a needy customer. There is also a subway and Papa Murphy's right next to them so that's a Win-win for me. I will say that if you are looking for specific alterations it is best to come in Monday -friday and talk directly to the cleaner and pressers..they know what they are doing and have been there a long time so they have experience. The place is as neat and tidy as one could expect for a laundry mat ..If some customers would clean up after themselves it would look cleaner , such as put the dryer sheets in the garbage They have at least 5 of them and They arnt there for ornaments. They are always willing to help if there is an issue with a machine but I have seen customers take advantage of the employees. This is near the airport and close enough to the library, post office and other city amenities so it is perfect if needing to run errands while washing , but while drying I would stay and watch my clothing because that is not the employees job they are not responsible for your clothing or lost items. The best time to visit this establishment is on Tuesday or Thursday not the weekends , and it's mot because of the employees it's because there is a different type of customer on the weekend mostly screaming unbehaved children and parents who let them trash the place ,though do be there befor 7:30 they company closes promptly at 9pm..I have been turned away after 730 and I understand that the employees need to het home to thier families too , so I just came the next day no need to be mad or write a bad review because I didn't manage my time better .Thanks Royal Fabric care for being such a great place and a safe place, I never worry about my safety the employees are keen on bad behavior and won't tolerate loitering, cell phone charging or using the bathroom for extended periods. I have been going to this laundrymat for almost 2 years. It's been getting worst. They don't clean the lint traps. The girl behind the counter is very rude. They put out of order signs on washers and dryers so no one will use them but them. They got dust hanging from the ceiling and the floors are sticky.
