This is specifically a review of the softball fields. It's really nice to have 3 fields together…read morefor softball purposes, and the grass in the outfield is fairly well maintained (although the ground is uneven), but other than that the field needs a big upgrade. The dirt infields are terrible. Around the bases and home plate are like a sandbox into the 1st game of the day, let alone several games later. It's a hazard trying to run around the bases here because you don't know what kind of surface your foot is coming down on, and several people end up pulling or twisting something they wouldn't have if the ground was solid. Supposedly turf is a few years out (it was a few years out a few years ago too), and that'll solve these issues. But, until then it's a convenient place to play, but really not great. Also, while they have a few water fountains by the fields, none of them work. You have to walk all the way to the bathrooms by the parking lot to get water. Finally, parking can be a major issue here if there is soccer, softball, and cricket all going on (or some variation thereof). There's a ton of wasted woodchipped areas between the existing parking lot and fields that should be converted to additional parking.

When it is sunny, I take advantage of the weather and head here and it seems like a lot of people do the same. I appreciate everyone here being so nice and welcoming, offering to let me the ins-and-outs of the place, showing me the main area as well as the small dog area, and the amount of fixtures the dogs can play on at this park. Only downside is that the parking lot for the big dog area is a little small but seems like most people park on the street or in the small-dog lot of need be. Can't wait to come here during the summer and meet more furry friends!

I will say that the parking lot is rather small and it can be very challenging to find any parking during the summer. When I arrived on this particular day, there was literally a line out to the road with vehicles trying to find parking. It can get pretty cut throat, too. The park itself is generously sized, in the splash pad has a lot of unique features that my kids really enjoyed. My favorite part is that they had features for small children as well as larger children. Usually when I go to other splash pads it smells funky or like chlorine. But this location smelled fresh and seemed to have been upkept recently. Western Washington is a notorious area for high amounts of trafficking, so I always have to keep an eye out wherever we go. But thankfully, this area seemed pretty safe so we will definitely be back next summer for more playtime.

He gets so excited when the van pulls up, and I know he's in great hands. His brother Kevin has been going for a while now too, and he loves it just as much. The staff treat both of them like family, and I always know they'll come home tired, happy, and full of tail wags. We're so grateful for the care, fun, and love they get every time. There might also be a line of.cars waiting foe the nearby ferry. It's been cleaned up a lot in the last few years, no more open air drug market.

The park offers complimentary parking lots, plenty of picnic areas for both large and small groups, a playground, covered shelters, outdoor restrooms, and it's very dog- and bicycle-friendly. One of the best parts is simply relaxing along the waterfront path and watching the steady stream of Washington State Ferries traveling back and forth across the Sound. During the summer months, the park even features an outdoor swimming pool. Our main reason for visiting was to see Bruun Idun created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo, and it did not disappoint. While walking the Puget Sound trail to find the troll, we also spotted a bald eagle perched in its nest--very cool! After snapping photos, we were treated to a beautiful sunset over the water. With nature, art, and incredible views all in one place, Lincoln Park is absolutely worth a visit.

My toddler loves the boardwalk portions and the bridges that cross over the creeks. I love that you can barely hear the traffic and city noises (even less so now with reduced activity due to COVID-19). Especially in the rain. Birds chirping. Leaves rustling. Rain drops if it's raining. It's so peaceful and zen. There are tons of salmon berry bushes in the spring. Another thing I love is it's easily missed so I rarely see another person here, unlike the much busier Lincoln Park down the road. The paths are well laid out, although there are some mini trails that lead to dead ends other people have made. It can get a little muddy in parts if the weather has been wet, but not slippery. Just don't wear your nice shoes. If you stand around too long there are mosquitoes. So if you're not chasing a toddler and there to meditate or meander, bug spray. Sometimes there is trash on the path which makes me sad some people don't care to carry their waste to the provided trash can at the entrance.
