Made an appointment with the receptionist and even called to verify someone was coming that day. She confirmed. I waited an hour and no one showed up. I couldn't get ahold of anyone, nor did anyone call me back to let me know they couldn't come. It was a complete waste of time. This is a rental property, so standing outside waiting without a phone call to let me know someone couldn't come is unprofessional. read more

Aaron is a crook. I paid $475 to have Burk's Custom come to my house to repair small dings in our drywall and touch up paint. The painter who came to my house did a sloppy job. I had to call them to come back out and fix the poor job (there was excess wall paint that went into the ceiling and streaks on the wall) and since I did not know the color of the ceiling paint, I agreed to pay the $85 paint match. There was scheduling mistake with the painter so I had to call them again and during that time, told them the correct paint color ("swiss mocha"- it was actually swiss coffee, but anyone who does paint should know this - swiss mocha doesn't even exist at Dunn Edwards). They came out 3 days later, fixed the mistakes but I was still charged the $85 paint match even though NO PAINT MATCH services were rendered. When I called back for a $85 refund, Aaron told me he needed it to pay his guy and that he would not refund the money because he had to pay his painter labor for coming out twice. If he did the job right the FIRST time, there would be NO NEED for a 2nd visit. He refused. I told him to keep the $85 and I will be happy to share my experience with anyone who is considering this crooked company. Aaron called it "above standard quality work" - what a JOKE. We feel fortunate to have found Burk's to repair three textured doors that were botched by our general contractor's painter who delivered them damaged and peeling. All they needed to begin with was a light fresh-up coat and they came back ruined instead. What a nightmare! You can imagine how picky we were about finding someone up to the task who we could trust. Our previous painter who was fabulous retired, so we were anxious about finding the right person. We also had Burk's paint 14 new cabinet door fronts. The paint job on the cabinet doors is so beautiful that the paint looks like lacquer when it is really Dunn Edward's Evershield, an interior/exterior semi-gloss water based paint. The finish is like the skin on a baby's butt. Just beautiful. All doors came carefully wrapped in two layers of butcher's paper to protect them. Very impressive. Aaron, the owner, aims to please and make customers converts for life. He's extremely conscientious and has an eye for detail. The fees are a little pricey compared to some others, perhaps, but they deliver a high quality product. We are very pleased with the service and expertise of Burk's and will use them again. read more

We have used Burk's Custom Painting twice in the last six years. The first time was for painting the outside of our house, and this last time was to repaint a large patio pergola on the back and side of the house. In both cases the quote was reasonable, and very detailed. They started on time and finished on time. Significant overspray protection of the house and patio was done. The pergola was power washed, primed, and painted. In addition they replaced several boards on top that had rot. The pergola now looks fantastic! I was really disappointed when my estimate was more than double the price of four other painters that estimated my job. The other four estimates were from fully bonded and insured painters. I should mention that I had to call twice to even get the written quote. I did however, find everyone to be very friendly during our contacts. His crew is always professional, punctual, respectful, and meticulous in their daily clean-up. Aaron is often creative with his estimate in that he makes suggestions based on his professional experience. They use only high quality materials and take obvious pride in their work. The process started with a checklist of exactly what was to happen and then I was emailed with progress reports. Aaron and his crew are the best. We moved into our home 16 years ago and did nothing for 16 years. To say our house was in need of some painting love is an understatement. When Aaron came out and we did a walk through of the job, he kept emphasizing that the majority of the time will be on preparing our home. Because without the proper prep, the paint job won't last... And that is where he sold me. Aaron came out a second time to talk about the colors we had chosen and that was more for us to put our minds at ease with the colors we chose. The prep was thorough, the painting professional the end result WONDERFUL. We also talked with Aaron about our "oak" front door and he mentioned that it really dated our home. So we also had him refinish the door with the same stain that we used on our recently remodeled kitchen cabinets. It took 1 1/2 days to prep it (completely sand it down and remove all the oak stain/finish) and 1/2 day to finish it. Our door looks AMAZING! Aaron's guys worked around and with our landscaping company who was in the middle of completely landscaping our home. Could not recommend them any higher. I would use Aaron again in a heartbeat. read more
