Miguel and his team are hard workers and he is an artist. he stripped the old paints and stains on a 60 year old redwood panels and blended a new garage door beechwood to reflect a beautiful stained finish.They left each day with a clean workspace and communicated with us concerning the process and color we wanted. Excellent service, very professional. We had Rick Jamison painting come out to do maintenance and refinishing on a custom wood gate and redo the stain on our front door threshold and jambs. They were recommended to us by Garden Passages, who did the original gate for us. At first it looked like the colors weren't going to match on the door jambs but project manager Stephen worked very hard with us and his worker to make sure they matched the stain colors as best as possible. The end result looked great. Sadly a week later we had to get a new fridge and the threshold was damaged in the process. Stephen came back out and did some touch ups for us right away. Sometimes, when a company makes a mistake you find out if that company stands behind their work and if they are made up of people with integrity. Back in April 2021, I called the company that installed my beautiful cedar wood garage doors to recommend someone to restain them. I trust the garage door company because they did a spectacular job installing the custom doors. He recommended Rick Jamison Painting (RJP), who has good Yelp reviews. Rick came right out right away and gave me a quote. Once the pricing was set, we made an appointment for his workers to do the job. But, not long after, I was scratching my head as the doors were looking dry and brittle. Rick came back out and determined that another coat would solve the problem. I had to pay more, but I didn't care because I really wanted my doors to look nice. After the second time they stained it, which was in June, OMG, the stain started to bubble. Feeling really confused and somewhat angry, I almost wanted to cry . So, Rick sent his son out to look at it. They came back out at the end of August and completely fixed everything. Now my garage doors look brand new again! RJP will have my business to maintain the doors from now on. I love my garage doors; they are beautiful. They look brand new! Rick and his crew did a good job retexturing my ceiling after a leak, then matched the existing color. Also painted my French doors after having new handles put on. The doors needed some additional work since the people who installed the new handles didn't perform the best job, leaving raw wood and cracks exposed. Rick's crew took care of that and now they look great. Also had Rick and his crew repair and paint the wood trims on the back of the house exposed to constant sun and heat. Really came out nice. Minor touch up in the kitchen and family room also. They were able to match a hard color for the kitchen island and now it looks good. Special thanks to Pedro and Omar, his two man crew who did the work. Reliable, responsive and quality. As Rick says during the initial quote, he isn't the cheapest, but one of the best. Not the job I expected at $2900.00 for two garage doors, one 16 Ft. and one 9 Ft. they were new doors that needed staining and coated. I could have done a better job myself and almost wish I had, but at 77 years old, a bit much for me. These are the most dishonest people we have ever worked with. We paid over $3000 for them to stain our front door. With that much money, the worker left nail holes and uneven stains. The owner sent a second crew. They filled the holes and claimed they would fix the problem. One month later, we saw smear marks all over the front door. The owner came and blamed us for using Lemon Fresh as a polisher. Big joke. If he really used top quality stain as he claimed and charged us for, it should not smear with a standard wood cleaner. Over the last 2 years, I've hired Rick Jamison Painting to stain and seal a fiberglass front door, stain and seal 2 wood gates, and repair, stain and seal a wood balcony because it was not done properly the first time (by another company). When they stained the front door, I thought it looked great but the stainer was not happy with the final product so he re-did it without me even asking him to. Just had the exterior of our home in Newport Coast done using Rick Jamison Painting after a neighbor in our complex recommended them. Met with RIck to go over the job and received a competitive estimate quickly. Was a bit surprised when only one person instead of a crew came to do the work, which was extensive. Thus the whole process took a bit longer than the estimated 8 days to complete, but this turned out to be a positive because his man Miguel does absolutely great work. He is also just a pleasure to deal with, coming on time with a can-do attitude about anything that came up each day. He also had a young man to assist on most days who also was eager and pleasant although just learning the trade. Only saw Rick a couple times in the process, but this was no problem since communication with Miguel and Abby in the office was consistent and easy. When things went beyond the expected time, the only thing they were concerned about was doing the job right instead of hurrying to finish.
