We did this to help limit the trauma & complicated recovery for our daughter due to her compromised immune system. We shared these concerns with the dental staff prior to our visit. In fact we let them know our daughter was traveling four hours each way weekly to Mayo Clinic for advanced & complicated care offered at Mayo. We clearly conveyed this to the Crego Dental Staff when scheduling our daughter's separate appointments. Nonetheless, during her first of two scheduled visits recently, the dental staff canceled her second appointment and performed both procedures without asking or so much as informing us. We found out only after the procedures were complete this happened. The dental tech was cavalier about the dual procedures and condescending with her response when I brought my concerns to her attention. It resulted in unnecessary, aggravated and extensive pain for our child during her recovery. She relapsed into an acute respiratory attack of intense coughing, hives, severe fatigue and extensive myalgia as a direct correlation of having two procedures done at one time. The complications arose because anestetics were used on both sides of her mouth and resulted in numbing her entire lower jaw. In fact, it was originally staff at the Crego Dental Office that informed us this would be problematic for most children. They initially advised us to schedule two separate appointments without knowing of our daughter's recent decline in health. At the end of the day, the Crego Dental Office staff and dental providers were clumsy and irresponsible with the treatment they performed on our daughter. It was careless and completely avoidable. While we did receive a call from the practice manager later that day apologizing for their blunder & oversight, that call was too late. My daughter suffered needlessly because of a decision made without care for our daughter's interest & wellbeing. We are now seeking another dentist...

He aggressively put the drill back into my mouth and kept drilling. It took me waving my hands and trying to sit up to get him to stop), and treated me like I didn't have a voice. This was one of the most bizarre interactions I have ever had with a professional. His tone when speaking to me was aggressive & condescending (i.e., he asked me, have you ever heard of a root canal before?). I am embarrassed to admit that I shed a few tears because as a 40-year old woman, I have never been treated like this before & was unsure how to respond. At one point when he left the room, his hygienist could tell that I was upset, & went on to tell me this is how men communicate sometimes. This was a horrible experience and I will never go back, which is unfortunate because my husband and I have seen Dr. Russell for years and she is great.

That was almost 2 years ago and haven't had any problems with the tooth since. The office has been closed for many months but has recently reopened. Any issue you tell them you have ever had will become a "condition"... and ALL collected data will be reported to your general dentist, your primary care physician, and will remain part of your shared medical record. Even the inaccuracies. They are first and foremost a money making machine - just remember that. Next, they are not attentive, truly caring, or committed to the comfort and health of their patients. They partner with insurance companies to collect data. They receive compensation for this. They really work for them. Not you. You will feel this from the second you walk through their doors until long after you leave. The icky feeling just sticks with you. You will not feel quite right. You may find benefit from Physical therapy, the therapists treatment and massage tips, and you may need/benefit from a splint, but those WILL BE COSTLY, both literally and figuratively... and it really is the figuratively you should understand most. This place shares inaccurate records far and wide. Inaccurate records. Records that WILL follow you and may haunt or hurt you later. Other dentists and doctors and insurance companies WILL get a plethora of information and a litany of "conditions" they see fit to create. Just remember, they do not work for you. There are limited Specislists locally, sadly. If you need the treatment, get it, but listen to your gut, heed the warnings, and pay very close attention to your chart records, get/review copies - and demand corrections - immediately. You deserve good, honest care, and you should not have to work do hard for it (especially if you are injured or in pain) but, unfortunately, you do. Trust yourself and be well.

She could get five stars if it were just for her patient skills, give her a raise! *I like the doctor as a whole. *The finance lady was an absolute nightmare, she was cruel, cold, and abusive. She talked over me, had a constant condescending tone, wouldn't let me finish a thought or question and kept repeating herself even yelling at me and literally forcing me to yell back to even be listened to and get a response which was not answering a question but saying she would get the answer, leaving the room, and not then just coming back.

Everyone was great and Barry really makes you feel at ease. The quaint practice has such a homey feel that you won't want to go back to work after your appointment. You know your in good hands when you'd rather have your mouth drilled on rather than be in the office. I recommend him to everyone looking for a new dentist.
