12/1/19 This is the first...no the second  time I have visited this store, but it felt like a first time to me. The store was pretty well organized from what I saw, but there was something missing from the time I was there. This is the lack of people. This is a good thing under the circumstances. When nature called, we headed to the restroom area and discovered it is now unisex...no. it has a woman's symbol on the door and the unisex sign on the left side of the door.  This does make any sense, but the guys have the same thing only opposite of what the ladies have. Some guys might not care if a woman walks into the men's bathroom, but women and loved ones might care if guys walk into the women/unisex bathroom.  If they are going to be unisex bathrooms get rid of the single sex bathroom icon...if this message is ignored, there are bound to be a lot of unpleasantness in the weeks to come. Aside from the bathrooms,  this place is okay. Found some great options for Big and Tall males in my family.   I will have to remember this for future shopping needs. read more

Please don't shop here. The supervisor, David, is incredibly disrespectful and rude. He treats people terribly and yells at his coworkers. I witnessed him on his phone while a line was forming, and only when it grew longer did he finally step in to help, but he was very rude throughout the interaction. I will never shop here again. After my experience, I looked at reviews and saw many complaints about this store, specifically mentioning him. He really should be fired. I spoke to a staff member at the front door who confirmed that many people have reported Redin, but management hasn't taken any action. It's truly disappointing. Burlington needs to do better. I plan on contacting corporate or the district manager. read more

I'm writing this because I was absolutely stunned by the treatment I witnessed at Burlington this pass week. I believe the individual I'm referring to, David, might be part of the management team, as I saw him with store keys while he was behind the register. His attitude was incredibly rude and nasty. He was berating one of his coworkers, making them feel completely useless. I even heard him cursing at them! It was heartbreaking to see someone in a leadership position treat their team so poorly. I had to ask a cashier for their name afterward, just in shock that someone like David could be in management and treat his peers like trash. There are cameras everywhere, and they should really see what he does. When I was there, there was a huge line and he was just on his phone, not helping at all. It's sad and unacceptable. burlington do better. read more

I think I am going to stop shopping at Burlington stores. Being a middle-aged woman, I remember shopping at Burlington and it was normal. Now I enter a Burlington, and am told they're limiting access to the space by a security guard, then when I get inside EVERYTHING IS LOCKED UP. Whether it be a plastic box an item is in, or items chained to the racks on which they're hanging, it's TOO MUCH. I don't want a seemingly prisoned shopping experience.It's a huge turn off how far Burlington has gone to prevent theft. There's got to be a better way. read more

Can't recommend this. It looks like a war zone. I've been here several times, and due to eating dinner at Longhorn, thought "let's see if there are any sweater deals." On a positive note there was a nice Champion brand sweatshirt for $15. Yet that wasn't enough, as clothes were all over the place, including the floor. Employees were at the register, and my best guest is the store needs help hiring people. They aren't alone, and it would be nice if customers put stuff back where it belongs. This store isn't alone on this. They did have a good selection of Christmas decorations. This area was nice looking, and I was impressed by what they had in stock. Unfortunately the clothes all over the place, were evidence enough to roll out. I didn't see a lot of competitive deals other than the sweatshirt. As for the store an interesting two story building. Sadly I cannot recommend this location, and a lot of Burlington's lately are looking sad. read more

On Sunday 9/15/24. Around 4;55 my friend and I was at Burlington, getting ready to check out. The line was so long. We had 3 people in front of us and about 6 or 7 behind us , one of guest ask for a supervisor we was told by the to come down stairs and check out after standing for 20 minutes or more . After another woman supervisor an we ask her could she over another line she replied that she couldn't. And her customer service was so bad and disprectfu. And told everyone to stand and wait and walked away with attitude. So we waited no one wanted to go down stairs. And there were to disabled people in that line that explains that they couldn't stand long periods of time attitude for supervisor is not a good look. I as a customer will not never visit that store again read more

I have such mixed feelings about leaving this review. When I go I can see the associates and their team leads or whatever you call the first level supervisors working hard. This story is BUSY and it's two floors so I am guessing they are a high volume store in terms of revenue. I'm other words, I think the associates have their work cut out for them. But the experience is not always great. Other shoppers just open packages or leave items any old place. Not hating on the DMV but people need to have some manners in the discount department stores because it's even like this in Wal-Mart and Target. I see the associates hurrying to clean up messes but they are outnumbered. And the bathrooms are atrocious. It looks like they have cleaning people come in but someone is trashing those bathrooms! The other thing is that the upper store management seems to undermine their people. Like one REALLY busy day I saw this employee (I forget her name but she had a long ponytail) trying to get more cashiers up front (there was only one!) and her boss would not let her. Traveling on my way out of town i stopped into this location in search of a pair of khaki cargo shorts. I mean nothing fancy, I just needed them to fit. Went through the racks and nothing. Any locations that I go to in maryland have an overload of them thats why I went specifically to burlington. After that disappointment my lady ended up in the kids section, and we picked out a cute pair of shoes for my daughter. I wasnt upset about not finding the shorts as much as I was when I got back home, and sent my daughter out with the shoes on. After 1 wear these shoes look like she's been wearing them for months. The paint has pealed and there is no way I can put her back in these shoes other then maybe going outside to play. Very disappointed with this store. will not be coming back. read more

I dont know who running it but it's the worst store next to a thrift store I've ever seen in the condition it's in. They need to close down reorganize, change management and do a grand opening. I know that in these tough economic times, our budgets are getting a little tight. So when I was looking for a new coat, I thought, "Hey, I don't always need to go to a mall or department store." So here I have come to Burlington Coat Factory. I don't care what you people think, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross, Burlington Coat Factory - these places are awesome to find new deals. Did you know you can get Under Armour at Marshalls for almost 1/2 the price at your normal sports store? That's right. Mr. Smart Shopper here. Anyways, I came here to buy a new winter wool coat. The lady was very helpful and told me that I should buy one a size up from my suit size since you would want to wear your suit underneath it. She helped me try on lots of coats and gave her opinion on each one. At the end of the day, I bought a new wool designer brand coat for 50% off the retail price. I was happy with my purchase, and now I'm much warmer for this winter. read more

This is the most organized Burlington I've ever been to. I mean, that's not really saying much, but it gave me a great first impression. (Then again, I only stopped at the top level where the men's clothing is. I didn't dare venture downstairs to the women's section...) The staff here is very friendly, but they definitely work at their own pace (which is just a polite way of saying they're so SLOW). Long wait lines are to be expected. But for the prices, who wouldn't wait? I came to this Burlington because the Fall's Church one doesn't have a tailor, and all the tailors in Alexandria are swamped for some reason. The tailor works from 3-8:00 most days, and there's a number on the door to call because he's usually not in. We called him at around 6:30 PM and he said he'd be in-store at 7:10 PM. The tailor is a cute little Korean man and he seems to be knowledgeable when it comes to his job. My boyfriend was getting his suit pants hemmed, and he also suggested they be taken in an inch to fall better. I will update on his actual skill level when we pick the pants back up. To hem the pants and take the legs in cost $22, which is a great deal in my book! He was also willing to rush the order a bit, so they would be done in less than 24 hours. The other places in Alexandria quoted us 2-3 days, at least! UPDATE: Picked up the pants. They were ready earlier than he said they would be, which was awesome. However, we were running late to pick them up (we called him at 7:50 PM, right before closing) and he said he would wait for us outside so we could get them tonight. Long story short, I took a few wrong turns and was 15 minutes late... but he still waited for us and wasn't upset at all! The pants are hemmed very nicely, and he took in the pant legs an inch to have them fit better. I will definitely be back! read more

This place leaves me with a definite tepid feeling. I've gotten some great deals on coats here (the only department that consistently has a good selection), but the disorganization of many of the departments plus poor quality and selection of a number of types of items and I usually only end up coming here when all my other targets have failed to produce the item I'm questing for. I'll even hit up the smaller TJ Maxx next door before venturing in here. As always - the selection is driven by what they pick up from other retailers to sell but I've been here easily 4-5 times every year and can remember actually only purchasing a handful of items over a decade. The store layout and the fact that there's often stuff just strewn all over - I don't get the yen to just stroll and checkout what's available like I do at its competitors. Having to troll for a parking space in the far too small lot to have a TJ and a BCF side by side, doesn't help matters either. I'm a big fan of Burlington Coat Factory, but this location isn't one of its shining stars. read more

For a BCF, this locale is pretty good. It's mostly clean and not horridly unorganized. And there are definitely some great deals to be found. The checkout process was painless. The worst parts of the trip were the parking lot (way crowded) and finding the right size (pay no attention to the sizes on the hangers or the rack, just check the tags). read more

I have only been to one other Burlington store in my hometown so my frame of reference was limited. Honestly, walking up to this store "oh, hell no" was circulating in my mind. Despite my initial hesitation, I decided to venture in anyways. It's two floors and my main target, baby stuff, was on the lower level. The inside of this store (and the facade) are desperately in need of an update, especially the inside which, honestly, looks dirty. Again, I decided to just start browsing the clothes and was floored at not only the selection and pricing but also the precise organization divided into 0-3 months,3-6 months,etc. While browsing, I found very few misplaced sizes which made my shopping quick and painless. While there were some items on clearance, the regular prices were very fair and reasonable. I found several items I had seen on Amazon as well and they were half the price at Burlington for the same items. This included not only clothes but also sleep 'n plays, blankets, hats, bibs, socks, washcloths, burp cloths, etc. I spent $69 and walked out with 13 different items. I could have gotten more but had to restrain myself since I know I'm not yet done shopping. I absolutely plan on returning here as I spotted additional items that are 50% more on Amazon that I would be more than happy purchasing at Burlington instead. Despite my initial impression, I am glad I didn't judge a book by its cover or I would have missed out on some pretty sweet deals! read more

I can't really believe that I stopped in here to look around. WOW what a dump! I am all about the bargin and cheap clothing deals but this is not the way to go people. Maybe a BCF in another state or area of VA would be better to visit and improve my opinion or review but this one is sloppy and dirty. The entire stored just seemed to be in disaray and over shopped or just not stocked. It does feel very similar to TJ Maxx and Ross but just bigger with a larger selection. This is my favorite location! They've reorganized and everything is neat to find. Staff is diligently working to keep the store straight and tidy. Sizes are usually in order and sales are clearly tagged. Cashiers are efficient and always more than 4 working at the same time to move it along. read more

Its a good place to find good deals on things that otherwise might crack your bank account. They always seem to have some kind of unique looking shoe for me. Hey, I can't afford to spend over $50 bucks on shoes anymore with this economy. I'm not big on their selection of clothes. Its a matter of looking and finding something somewhat decent. Burlington is a hit or miss. More miss than hit lately, but it depends on what you're looking for. I love their household section.

A jammed pack Burlington that is mostly self-service and long waits for check out. On the plus side you can usually find an employee on the floor if you have questions about the location of something of a department. Huge inventory but not enough space, so it can be messy and crowded. The coats, the women's clothing, the baby section, they share the lower level. Not so in the men's section -- they get the entire upper level to themselves (except for a small selection of electronic accessories). An old-fashioned arrangement from the days when men were too busy to do anything but dash into the department store and didn't have time to look around and certainly wouldn't be caught dead buying baby items. This is a popular strip mall, but even with that, close in parking is usually available. The location of the mall is such that there are multiple entrances and exits, some with traffic lights so that entering and leaving is not a nightmare. I used to avoid this place because their security system was always malfunctioning. So after spending hours looking for that perfect bargain, then dying of boredom in the checkout line (pre Smart phone), invariably the alarm would go off as you exited the store and a real security person would demand to search your bags even though you were technically outside the store. Yeah, I know I shouldn't comment on something that's been fixed, but I tend to hold a grudge when I'm buying from you and you threaten to call the police. read more

This place is dingy, smells funky and is hard to navigate. The fitting rooms are poorly lit, there are clothes scattered everywhere and it's hard to make and rhyme or reason as to how the women's clothes are laid out...... That said if you have the time, energy and patience to dig there are some awesome, inexpensive gems to be found in this place, especially in the clearance section. read more

Burlington Coat Factory, A place to buy clothes for less. Now I've been coming here for over a decade and well, I haven't ever blown my money on here simply because the clothing selections aren't my style. Well not only that but it isn't the best place to find things where it's said to be. Now I've enjoyed many things from here but many times the jewelry has missing pieces & the clothing is in the wrong sections and hangers just about never match the clothing. Anyways disregarding all that the customer service is indeed not the best what so ever. Once I tried returning some stuff and they where a pain in the anus. The main thing that I like from here is mainly just the dresses and the complete set of jewelry that they have. Aside from that I haven't ever bought anything else. I do prefer Tj Maxx, Marshall, and Ross over this place. However you can sometimes find something really good here. I guess you can try your luck with this place. Messy store! High prices on everything. I don't know how these people are still in business. Tip: Marshall's and Ross will sell you the very same brands at lower prices. When buying indoor car accessories, please make sure to read the small warnings on lead, harmful chemicals that may cause birth defects and cancer. If you have the patience to look through the racks, sift through the shelves, and stand in line, you should apply to be an angel (that's how they hire angels, right?) because this store is soooo disorganized. Men's wear is on the main level whereas everything else is in the basement. I've spent the most time looking through their baby section and I have to admit that I've found good deals like a Boppy pillow and Avent bottles. The Avent multipack bottle boxes were all opened and some were missing bottles though. And the clothes section is a huge mess - literally no size organization so you can't find a damn thing. Thank goodness the TJ Maxx next door is more organized so I could buy some clothes for le bebe quickly. read more

you can find some decent discounts here, and if you want to check out some of the floor models, you won't find pushy sales people like some of the other big baby stores. Most stuff is about the price you can find on Amazon, so it's nice if you don't want to wait for your two day Amazon Mom shipping, but it is in the basement of a Burlington Coat Factory, so keep that in mind, adjust your expectations accordingly, and you just might find some cheap baby clothes or gear here. read more

The cashier at the customer service checkout purposely held up the line and made customers wait almost 40 minutes. All of the lines were long at 3pm in the afternoon, on a Thursday. The manager said nothing about it and acted like it wasn't a big deal. You make your money by customers getting through the line. read more

One step into this store and I feel like I'm in a cheap discount store. Oh wait, I am...The store looked like it was in super disarray. I have been spending a lot of money at Gap, Old Navy and Motherhood Maternity for maternity gear that I will wear for another 4 months (I only started to wear maternity clothes 5 months into my pregnancy) and wanted to check out what discount maternity clothes this place has. Go down the stairs (or elevator) and you find 3 small racks of maternity clothes. The slacks were not worthy...sizes were super baggy for proper fitting, but they did have a lot of maternity jeans for only $9. I already have 2 pairs from Old Navy that fit perfectly. I needed clothes that I can pull off to look somewhat professional at a downtown federal agency. I got a few simple shirts at around $10 each, they weren't dressy to say the least but pretty basic that I can dress up with accessories (not name brand and I think only made for Burlington). However, if your maternity fashion involves t shirts that says "Bun in the Oven," or "My Baby Rocks!", and other phrases, then this place is for you! I don't recommend coming here for work maternity clothes. Stick with online Old Navy, Gap, Loft and elsewhere...They did have a lot of baby stuff (and yes even at different addresses it's the same store), but prices were not at a steep discount. If shopping in a messy unorganized store in hopes of a discount, then maybe this store is for you...otherwise, I'd stick to online shopping at mainstream stores for maternity gear. Buyers beware at this store! I spoke with the person in charge about a jumpsuit missing a belt. Jeff said the item could not be further discounted because that is why it was placed on sale. This incomplete item didn't list that info on the tag, and spoke with Jeff and customer relations that supported this statement- things on sale may be defective and Burlington is only obligated to list safety issue markdown on tags. To me this translates into shady territory, and consumers to be very aware of sale tags at Burlington! read more

Great store, high quality coats at about 1/2 the mall price. I picked up two for my original budget for one coat. I browsed the suits and shoes so will need to go back to further explore formal wear. The staff is scarce, but courteous. The checker even used her code to give me a $15 discount. She didn't have to do that, but that kind of consideration is what will bring me back. read more

Spring Break for me this week - so, lots of time to troll Bailey's Crossroad's stores - and- Burlington Coat Factory deserves TEN STARS!!! I don't shop this emporium for customer service, friendly shop clerk greetings, ease of returning unwanted merchandize, short time to check out, or organization of rack sizes. I shop because EVERYTHING I buy here is inexpensive! I try on EVERYTHING and examine all merchandize with a fine-toothed comb! The selection of goodies here is terrific! I have NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED with any merchandize from Burlington! Parking is ample and free. read more
