My mother agreed to trade it in about a month later and once again James did his methodical assessment. It was great because the silver prices had jumped a bit. He asked whether we wanted a check or cash which surprised me. Of course I took the cash! Both times the transactions were professional and attentive, and the rate exchange was very good. I spent maybe 1/2 hour - 45 minutes (place settings for eight) and was done. James is a nice person -- extremely honest and reliable. Yet, they offered me $93 for the entire ring! How insulting is that? This seems to be a common thing with their business and I'm truly wondering if they only lowball a certain demographic of people. It's bad business and a bad look! Thankfully, I took to ring to a coin/gold business for scrap and they took the stone out of the ring and gave me almost $200 for it. I sold it for scrap more than JA offered! And I kept the stone! So do yourself a favor and avoid Jewelry Authority if you want to get sell your jewelry.
