I was initially told the correct replacement would be sent at no extra cost. However, after the item's price increased from $259 to $299, I was asked to purchase it again. While I can't say why, the timing certainly raises concerns. For a company selling collectible and expensive items, this level of quality control and customer service is simply unacceptable. It sounded odd. Fast forward to last week, the owner wore it and the front steamed up right after he put it on. I took it to Southern Digital on W Gate City who said the seal was like brand new and the guy in the mall put the wrong size battery in. She even showed me the difference in size of the batteries. Don't take your watches to the mall to replace batteries. I LITERALLY paid for that lesson I believe for myself and others.

Months ago, I took a really nice 5 row diamond channel ring in Jewelry Authority to be sold. They offered me $415 but I declined it. So they gave me a piece of paper STAMPED with their business logo along with the price offered and told me it was good for 7 days. I waited a couple of weeks for gold to climb a little more in price and when I took the ring back to be sold - Zane (the guy that works there and makes offers) literally looked me in my face and offered me $360!! Even though gold had went up in price, he literally offered me LESS that what he previously offered. That's crazy!! On top of that, I questioned why he had offered me LESS and explained to him that they had offered me more the first time. He asked me if I had the piece of paper that they had initially gave me with the offer and when I showed it to him, he shrugged his shoulders and didn't say anything else. So why even ask me for it? That was my LAST time dealing with them and I would highly suggest that if you have a nice piece of estate jewelry, try to sell it elsewhere before taking it to Jewelry Authority.

After having another diamond fall out, the decision was made that I needed to trade the engagement ring in, as it was defective in design. It was understood that I was only trading in my engagement ring and that my wedding bands were to be soldered to the new ring. I was told, to trade in my defective ring I needed to choose one double the value of my current one. After picking out a new one, we did the paperwork. In writing, signed by myself and the sales associate, it states that the jeweler, was to resize my new ring and solder my existing bands to it. The whole time I was in the store it was made clear, I was there only to turn in my faulty engagement ring, even though the ring and one wedding band came as a set. I payed a deposit and opened a store credit for the balance. I left the store expecting to pick up my new ring the next day. I received a call informing me that they were taking my engagement ring and wedding band. At no time, was an offer made for me to keep my band. I went back to the store, stated to the manager that I didn't want to give up my engagement ring, but had to, due to their faulty craftsmanship. Giving up my wedding band was out of the question. He became very pious, letting me know to go forward and call higher management, as he was untouchable and my complaints were not valid. He even threatened to kick me out of the store. I've spent 7 years replacing diamonds, making a three hour drive to this store. Then I'm spending more money on a new ring, and he refused to offer a way for me to keep my wedding band. It took over 30min for him to refund my deposit and give me my old set back. I was in the store a total of 4 hours, only to be threatened and have my credit score affected by opening and closing an account on the same day. My signed recipient and paper work were a contract, one they broke and refused to rectify. I later learned (after talking with corporate) that the manager, Mark Phillips "under his discretion" could have let me keep my wedding band. Mark refused to make their wrong right. Over the years of bringing my ring in, I worked with another manager Brook. She was outstanding, she remembered me and my ring, every time I walked in the door. I will no longer recommend anyone to Reeds. And I have filed a complaint with the BBB.

Clothing is always strewn everywhere, shelves are disorganized, and the words "neat and tidy" have no connection to this retailer. Imagine shelves of stacked shirts; someone pulls one out from the bottom, opens it up, and then shoves it back on top of the stack wadded up. No,w repeat that with the next one on the bottom, etc., and that is pretty much how the shelves are. The racks are the same, with stuff on the floors, hanging over the top of the racks, hanging by one end of a hanger, etc. Even the jewelry and watches in cases are not neat or aligned. Finding an employee here is like panning for gold in the Pacific Ocean, which is probably why nobody is around to clean things up. Finding a cashier is even more challenging than that. And when you do find an open cashier, expect silly lines. On this visit, there was a place with 3 cash registers but only 1 cashier and 9 people in line in front of us. Macy's is trying to emulate WalMart and doing a fine job. The only reason we stayed in line was that our granddaughter ate a bite of a lollipop so we needed to pay for it. We have stopped going to Macy's; this was the last time we went to one. Pretty much the only thing you find there now is store brands and clutter. You are better off going to Nordstrom, Saks, Neiman Marcus, or smaller stores like Black Market, White House, Ann Taylor, Talbot's, etc. Two stars and sadness at what this brand has become.
