Overall, there have been some changes, and so far they don't seem to be good ones. First of all, right when you walk in, there's a person standing dead center of the entrance, staring you down in what looks like a mix between security guard gear and combat gear. I don't know enough about the shapes of the compartments on the black vest to know if she was armed with a firearm or not, but the head to toe black getup seemed very intimidating. Which perhaps is their goal if the intention is security. Either way, definitely doesn't give off a welcoming vibe. I've been to high-end stores, particularly in Europe, where they do have a security guard upfront, but the approach is different... More of a tall gentleman in a black suit kind of look. That doesn't interfere with the shopping experience as much in my opinion. The store is currently undergoing some renovations, so the fitting rooms and then one other area were closed off and covered with blue tarps. I understand sometimes you have to renovate so while it would've been nice to try on the clothing I ended up looking at in a fitting room, I understand sometimes that's not possible. Something else I noticed is that there's a lot more security in terms of the items on the shelves or where they're hanging. There's some things that you can't even browse without hitting a button or getting a store assistant's help. It just feels like a lot of things are locked down, which again gives the impression that there's a lot of theft at this store, which again takes away from the overall enjoyment of the shopping experience. One of the things I love about going to a brick and mortar store is looking at the displays and the beautiful merchandise... This interrupts that vibe. Ultimately, I did find some great items and was pleased with what I got, but at the end at the checkout, the associate asked me three times within just a few minutes if I wanted to get the TJ Maxx credit card. I listened to his whole spiel the first time and then politely declined. Then as he was bagging up my items, he proceeded to ask me again, citing additional benefits and I said no thank you I really don't need it. Then when he was about to take my payment, he asked me one more time. This just feels excessive, especially given the short window of interaction. I understand this is most likely the corporate policy, but it felt very pushy to me.

If you have been to one Target, you basically know what any Target has on offer. The layout may be different from Target to Target, though. Aside from having all the same departments and items, I will say that we have noticed the produce at this Target location doesn't stay fresh as long as others we have shopped at. We have decided just to not buy any fresh produce from this Target anymore, unless it's something we have to grab on the way somewhere and can only stop at one place (if it's Target). They do have quite a few eateries nearby, which is nice if you want to grab something for dinner/lunch after you've been shopping. Raising Cain's, McDonalds, and that type of fare - nothing fancy. They have their own food options within Target too; Pizza Hut, Starbucks, and some grab and go things near the registers. My only other complaint, and this is about ALL Target locations - is that they keep it very toasty in there! No matter if it's Summer or Winter, it will always be sweltering in any Target. If this is the only Target you can get to, it's not BAD by any means - I just think it's one rung below other locations when it comes to a few specific things.

There are signs throughout, so it is relatively easy to find the area you are hoping to shop in. Each time I've come to search for something, I have not had any luck. The main reasons I have not bought anything here are either of it. Nothing fits my frame/style (This store is much more geared towards women than juniors, and business/cocktail attire than anything casual), and that the price point is high above competitors I shop at. Overall, I do not think I am their target market, but I am shocked that people come in and spend what they do for items you can get cheaper elsewhere. Probably just a matter of opinion, but I do not frequent this store often for that reason. I do know a lot of friends who get great deals with within the shoe clearance area -- this seems to be what they're known for! I looked around, and did see some decent deals, but nothing that I needed. Overall, I would come back here to shop at the shoe clearance, but probably nothing else.

Until recently it was mostly shopping, and now of course you have the "been around forever" Wheatfields, another Popp eatery, Andres, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Red Mango, 801 Chophouse, and the belle of the ball, Trader Joes. It's funny to think most Omaha millennials might remember Trader Joes as the only Abercrombie and Fitch in town for awhile. How fitting it became another millennial destination! The parking is kind of a mess, it's very cramped and most parking is for TJ's. One bright spot is Zen Coffee has a drive through there so you can grab a delicious matcha latte before your weekly shopping. I'm glad to see new life and staples stay in this plaza.

I get my hair cut at Five Salon which specializes in Aveda products. Next door is L'Occitane which is a line of beauty products and fragrances from Provence in the South of France. Kinda pricey but it's the real deal. Fun just to look at their beautiful packaging. Last year I started buying dress pants for work at Talbots. Again, not cheap but high quality (and they have frequent sales). There's a Bath & Body Works, Sur la Table for high end kitchen ware, Wheatfield's and Andres Tortillery for dining options, and other small boutiques. Last but not least, I absolutely cannot visit One Pacific Place without stopping at Nothing Bundt Cakes and picking up a couple of bundtlets - one chocolate chocolate chip and one Flavor of the Month!! Truth be told, sometimes I make up an excuse to stop at One Pacific Place just to go there. :-)
