Based on good reviews, I called them on Monday and spoke to a nice lady that answered. I explained that I had a condo in Reno that my stepdaughter lived in, that needed some service because only one of four outlets in the kitchen were working. She took down my name and number and said someone would get back to me that day. On Wednesday, not having heard from anyone, I called again and spoke to Dan and explained the matter to him. He was very nice, took down my name and number and said that a technician in the field would get back to me in the next hour do discuss the job further. I guess they decided they didn't want the job because no one got back to me at all. At that point I called another company, who responded promptly and made an appointment to help me out next week. I do not recommend this company because of lack of follow-through of the techs, even though the front of the shop seemed helpful. I would have preferred they tell me that they are not interested in new jobs at the present time. read more

Exceptional service from Burnett. Had a 220/50A installation, their quote was reasonable (better than others I received) and service was great. They also came up with suggestions and ideas that made the install better and helped save me some money. Always responsive and I had a formal quote within a couple of days. After this the work was complete on time and done perfectly. I would single out Joey, who did the work for us. He was friendly, on time, took time to explain things, and everything works great. I have dealt with people who delay, are not responsive, or throw changes at you in the middle of things. None of that with Burnett. One of the stores I work with recently had to move. After a time consuming properly search, we found an awesome warehouse. Although, this warehouse completely met our needs, we still needed to enlist the help of an electrician to get this space fully operational. After a lengthy search, talking with a number of electricians based in and around Reno, I ultimately decided to work with Burnett Electric. Why? Jim (the owner) was the most friendly and easy to work with electrician I met with. He was funny and receptive to our needs. Our quote needed to be drafted a certain way but that was no problem, he did what he had to do to make sure we were happy. His electricians were hard working and on time. They completed the work quickly and without any sort of bait and switch change orders. Everyone we worked with from Burnett Electric was completely knowledgeable. Burnett is amazing. I usually review restaurants and I go over the top on those reviews and I don't review service industry companies, but in this case I make an exception. Imagine you own a condo and have a young lady as your tenant and she is renting her first apartment from you. She works hard, two jobs in fact, but she doesn't know too much about maintenance on a building. Imagine then one Sunday afternoon and she is doing laundry and hears some funny noise coming from the grey box in the closet and smells a burning smell coming from same closet. Well, she is going to call you and you need to have someone to call because you fear the whole thing is going to go up in flame. I avoided the flames by calling Jim Burnett with Burnett Electric. He went out on a Sunday, climbed the stairs in his crutches (I didn't know hed had surgery) and he identified the faulty electrical box, fixed it that same day and had my tenant jumping for joy as well as me. Crisis averted - both fire and an unhappy tenant and it was all done in the span of about two hours. I figured I would be working on that sucker into the middle of the week. These guys are awesome and I will definitely be using them for all of my electrical needs. I hired them to replace all of the outlets and light switches in my house from the 60s to modernize things up a bit and make sure my wiring was safe. Jim and I corresponded completely over email and his responses were always complete and prompt. He sent two guys here to complete the job and they were both so respectful, competent, and friendly. They had to be here for a good 6 or so hours during COVID-19 while I was 30+ weeks pregnant and they were awesome about wearing masks the whole time without complaint. We needed a qualified electrician to find out why our fuse would pop every time we plugged into a particular wall plug. Our house is only 2 years old so it didn't make sense. I had Jim Burnett Electric out to hard wire LED motion lights, and LED garage light just before winter. The other day my power popped off for just a second, and the motion lights wouldn't go off. So, I called to see if it's a reset button, or just what the heck. Well, he advised to turn power off at junction box, wait for 30 seconds, and turn on. Did that, and the motion lights turned off. All OK? NOT, I was having a stroke, because the new freezer, the beautiful Samsung fridge, not back on, including parts of the house. I'm freaking out, called Jim one more time, and he walked me through the process, calmly, patiently, and I got everything up and running. Never take power for granted again. I was totally disappointed with the service I received.First they were a half an hour late.Then they told me they had to go buy wire at Home Depot. Really? an electrician didn't have wire?!? Then while the one was out he needed to stop and get gas?? One should be ready for work when they arrive at your job.Then to top it off they raised the price. We were referred to this company by our realtors. We needed 2 GFI outlets installed and were asking for a quote. The company stated that it would be cheaper to just replace the outlet, as the cost of the quote would cover a large portion of the actual repair costs. This sounded reasonable, so we agreed to have them come out for the repairs. They set an arrival time of 9:00 this morning. Unfortunately, the electrician did not show up until 10:30, and even though his work orders stated that he was to replace the GFI outlets, he did not have any GFI outlets in his vehicle. We had to wait another 45 minutes for him to leave and return with the outlets. They were installed, seemingly without incident, but the electrician left several screws on the ground below where he was working instead of cleaning them up. This is in an area where our children play, and the screws could have been stepped on by our youngsters. This was a very poor performance, we will not be using this company again, and I hope to prevent others from using them as well. Completely unprofessional. read more

The owner, Jim, took the time to personally walk through every single item on my list and made great suggestions that not only made better sense, but saved me money. There were a couple of projects that other contractors had quoted -- but Jim was the only contractor who said "no, you cannot do that; it's against code." I appreciated that honesty. The quote was provided super quick, accurate, and fair. Updating the electric in my entire condo was my first major project as a single woman, and I was terrified that contractors would either take advantage of me or criticize my ideas.
