UPDATE: On Oct 20, 2025, John and Andrew with Super Electric arrived to do some additional projects at our home, including an uplight for our American flag, installing two motion detector security lights/cameras, and adding a few outlets indoors and outdoors. They arrived early, did a walk-through with my husband to confirm the scope of work, then got right to it and completed all the jobs previously discussed and a few more my husband threw in as they went along. Everything works great, and Andrew even offered to come back and reprogram the timer on the flag light if it wasn't quite lined up for dusk to dawn. I reached out to Super Electric to fix an issue with losing power in certain walls. When the two techs came, they walked out to my braker box came in and said it was an issue with the power company, charged me $130.00 dollars to trouble shoot and left. After a phone call with the power company, I decided to call another company. They came out spent over an hour, found the problem, replace a part and my issue was resolved. The kicker was that they charged me less then Super Electric. I realized the two techs just didn't feel like working and passed the buck. We had a problem in our living room. I was watching TV and the electricity just went only in our living room. We've lived here for 5 years now and have had numerous power outages but this was in just one room. My husband check our electrical panel and said everything was fine. So we heard about Super Electric through a friend and gave them a call. My husband called and the owner Terry answered right away. Terry talked with my husband over the phone trying to see if they could figure out the problem without having to come to our house. When they couldn't figure it out Terry had his son Andrew come out to look to see what was wrong. Turned out that one of the sockets was wired wrong and had burnt out. A outlet in a bathroom caught fire because it was not correctly installed. The day after the Reno Fire responded (by the way they were excellent) we called Super Electric the next morning and told them that the power to all the bathrooms was cut off at the breaker by Fire, and that we needed someone to come out and replace the box. Within an hour, an electrician came out, identified that the outlet was not wired properly and fixed everything, except the fire damage. I could not believe that they would be out here that quick. The best contractor/trades company I've worked with in Reno or anywhere else. They are easy to schedule, efficient, and priced well below other companies. I've had them come out and do two jobs so far. The first was to run conduit from my breaker through my crawl space and to a sauna. The second was to change a light fixture that was about 20 feet up, one in my bathroom, put in an outlet in my bathroom which required fishing conduit through my attic. They also ran wire to two new outlets in my garage. My wife and I wanted to add three ceiling fans to our home, including our front room with a 14' ceiling; two sconce wall lights; and an additional coach light to the front of our garage. Terry came out on April 14, assessed our goals, climbed up into our attic where he would have to run wires, and determined everything was accessible and possible. Our attic is difficult to get up into and crawl around because of the scissor trusses and the many elevation changes in our ceilings throughout the house. Terry had asked me not to buy the fan for our living room until he came out and determined there was enough clearance in the attic above our living room laminated beam to get the wires up through it and then run to a power source. He determined there was enough room to run the wires so we ordered the fan that day. Terry had everything else installed by early afternoon. I was very impressed with how he listens to the homeowner's needs/desires, how quickly he surveys and assesses the situation, how quickly he formulates a plan, and how quickly he completes the installation. Terry takes the time to cover furniture and to clean up when he's done. When our 70" living room fan arrived, Terry came back out on a Saturday with his son Austin to install it. Best company ever! Andrew arrived a few minutes early to install our ring floodlight and greeted us very respectfully. He was super knowledgeable and completed the job within a reasonable amount of time. He then saw that our ring doorbell was placed on the wall instead of at the actual doorbell sight. He offered to fix that for us too, right on the spot for a very reasonable price. He completed both jobs and then kindly offered us a 10% discount. After both jobs were complete, I asked him to quickly come in and give me a few more fast quotes, which he did. He definitely went above and beyond for us and we couldn't be more satisfied. There is a reason it is called Super Electric; they do excellent work. I had an exterior GFCI go bad when I strung up Christmas Lights this year. I placed a call to Super Electric and got an appointment within 3 days over the holidays. The Electrician called to let me know he was on his way and arrived on time. He replaced the GFCI within no time and then he asked if he could examine the Main Electrical Panel. I said of course. He found several of the wire holders very loose....loose enough for the wires to move around freely and this could have caused an electrical fire. He tightened everything up so I now know the Panel will not cause a problem. He did NOT charge me for this extra work. Best home repair service I have ever had in over 50 years. read more
