Came here to check it out. Cool place. Great use of the space as well. Sat right away. They have a large bar in the middle and seating all around. The front of the building looks like overflow seating and a gift shop. And it does look like a church but cooler. Decent crowd. They have all the liquor and some guest liquor as well. Prices are on the higher end. If you're going to drink here a specialty cocktail will run you $15 or so. Food will run you $14-23 on average. I got the amethyst salad. It was pretty good and a decent portion. Lots of stuff in it. I liked it. Server was ok. Helpful. She was waiting on a lot of tables. Plenty of parking. And like I said super cool space. I had an amazing experience at Burnt Church. The moment you enter you feel the place is well taken care of. Their staff is very friendly and professional. They were all great. Ambiance was also on point. We didn't have to wait to be seated and food & drinks came out very quickly. We were a party of 5 and can't remember what everybody else ordered but I know I ordered the Margherita pizza that was probably one of the best I've ever had. Loved the garlic on it and it was thin crust which was a must. I also ordered a margarita as a drink and even though I forgot its name on the menu I can tell it was very delicious and perfect for a hot summer day. We try to come back every visit we have to Hilton Head. Most recently for the first time we brought our daughter and everyone was super understanding and accommodating of her despite her getting overtired and becoming really fussy/difficult unexpectedly. There were one or two other babies too but we really appreciated the staff's flexibility and understanding. The food was delicious. The whiskey was great. And the chocolate milk moonshine is still one of the greatest liqueurs I've ever tasted. You'd have no idea it's a moonshine, it's so incredibly delicious, so smooth, not strong so you can just keep drinking it. Dangerously good. Looking forward to returning! read more

Burnt church distillery was something we found when we were just looking for a brewery in the area. I am not much of a liquor person, but I fell in love with this place! They do have cocktails and beer and as you see with the pictures there are so many inviting places to sit and hang out with friends or coworkers or entertain yourself by reading the history wall or just browsing the property. Service was amazing and the gift shop had lots of wonderful swag to choose from. I wasn't expecting to fall in love with this place, but we all did! It's a must try! I am not even sure where to begin. This distillery is quite the experience and my husband and I landed on this place on a Friday night. It was very busy however, the bartenders behind the bar were extremely kind and very fast. We were sure to leave them a good tip. I really enjoyed the ambience of this place and the overall vibe the bourbon flight/whiskey flight that I got was really good. Pretty bummed I didn't know you couldn't buy alcohol after 7 PM oh well next time I would definitely recommend going to this place and enjoying some spirits. I was a bit disappointed that we weren't able to purchase any small liquor bottles since they stopped selling liquor after 7pm, state law. I never knew that. What a great find! This was recommended by our hotel. This restaurant is a converted old church, which makes it very unique. They have live music in the evenings which made our night even more enjoyable. For drinks, since it is a distillery, you can sample a whiskey flight or pick one of their specialty cocktails. For food, they offer classic pub fare, and I highly recommend the BBQ nachos. They were a nice portion, filling, and absolutely delicious. The ahi tuna was also very good and nicely prepared. Service also really stood out. The server was friendly and, attentive. They even bring a water carafe to the table, which is a nice touch. Additionally, they offer a discount when you pay with cash. If you're in the area and looking for something a little different with great food, drinks, and atmosphere, this place is definitely worth checking out! I'm sure I'll be back. read more

Burnt Church was a fun experience. We stopped in after a round of golf. The atmosphere is awesome: stained glass, high vaulted ceilings, wood beams. The architecture was well done and resembles an old church. We got whiskey flights. They give generous pours for small flight glasses! Definitely worth $18. We shared the loaded boneless wings. Honestly, these were the only disappointment of our visit, the wings tasted fine but calling them "loaded" was certainly an overstatement. They had sampler flights, which was good for someone like me who doesn't know their bourbons. Amazing ambiance! Staff greeted us promptly on Valentine's Day night when we sat at the bar. We ordered two rounds of drinks and got apps. We got the pretzel sticks which were INCREDIBLE with the mustard. Loved it. I know we went here during a slow time of day, but the service was EXCELLENT. Bartenders were AMAZING. Every single one of them. I appreciated them listening to my questions and for making their suggestions that hit the mark across the board. We got 3 flights, a local beer, and an espresso martini. The flights were a moonshine, DIY flight, and whiskey, and each was DELICIOUS. I am so sad they don't distribute their spirits out here in TX yet! I loved all the moonshines, especially because none of them were super sweet or tasted fake. We did vodka and tequila for the DIY flight, and all of them were far smoother than I thought they'd be. I got the iced coffee, milk chocolate, chocolate raspberry, and the Burnt Church Bourbon Cream liqueur. ALL DAY. I was surprised time and time again with each of these flights. PLEASE COME TO TX! Holy cow! This place is amazing! Our server, Ashley, was FANTASTIC, patient and creative. She took the time to find answers to my husband's million questions. TOUR REVIEW: Burnt Church distillery is a restaurant as well as a distillery. We took the distillery tour and loved it! There were eight people in the tour group. You start off in the study where you learn a little bit of history about the area and the building. After learning a little bit about what spirits they make, you select a flight of samples that you would like to taste during the last part of the tour. Our tour guide was Clinton, and he was fabulous. He knew tons about the building history as well as the whole distillery process. He encouraged our questions. He walked us through the whole distillery process, took us into the barrel rooms and back into the study, where our samples awaited us! (The whole tour was about an hour and then we sampled). We stopped at the shop and purchased our favorites before leaving. Enjoyed! read more

Service was great! Wife is the bourbon drinker and ordered and old fashion! She did enjoy it! I had the vodka with ginger ale! No ginger beer, but I was fine! Appetizers were delicious! Pretzel Logs , and cauliflower pizza was excellent I'm giving this place five stars! Gift shop attendant was excellent and found me a tee Shiites from stock and remembered me as I was leaving! Now the downside was the sneaky way we were billed.(and maybe my fault for not reading the menu $$$$ first! They charge a buck for the large square secure used in the old fashioned! They charged for the cheese that usually just arrives with a pretzel in other places, but the worst charge was the tip being included with the bill.We us the credit card to pay but always leave a cash tip. Not seeing the tip was in the total we left another tip in cash. To be that's just stealing. But other than that it was all very good. Maybe it was the server being deceiving or just us having a good time not asking. Lesson learned read more

The distillery itself is beautiful with delicious food and mocktails. Unfortunately, the customer service for their Amethyst NA Spirits ordering leaves a LOT to be desired. One package I ordered last week was returned to sender with no reason given. It was meant to be a gift for a friend we were seeing on vacation. I sent an e-mail to the listed address, as requested on the website and voicemail for the distillery. Notably, no one is available to answer any calls when you call the distillery. I received neither a return call nor an e-mail, and supposedly the second delivery was made while we were on vacation. We had several people still at the house who got our packages and mail, but they did not receive a delivery from Amethyst/Burnt Church. I have now spent over $60 trying to buy two bottles of Amethyst from the only place that I can order it from (I live in Virginia), and I'm really frustrated with the poor customer service that they provide to Amethyst's online customers. Again, I sent an email and called and left a message but no one bothered to return my requests for contact. I will likely no longer attempt to purchase from their site as apparently they have no interest in doing anything but taking my money for my order. I'm going to move on to another product and inform others to avoid purchasing Amethyst online. EDIT AFTER SUBMISSION - They delivered it to Robins Road, which could have been my bad if there was an autocorrect on ship to page. But honestly, wow. This is even worse than I thought. Delivered to the wrong address once, returned to sender, no contact from seller despite multiple attempts to figure out what happened on my end, then re-delivered to wrong address. My review stands as written. My issue is with poor customer service. Even if I did something wrong the first time, there were 4 days in the interim of no contact from the company regardless of attempts on my end. read more

3*=A OK I really wanted to give this place more stars. But I've visited quite a few Distilleries. So I can give a solid opinion. This is planted in a beautiful building that looks like a previous church. One may think church and spirits do not go together, but spirits (in the liquid form) are deeply interwoven in a lot of religions. I was disappointed in the fact that I reached out to this company well in advance before my trip to inquire about a tour. No one ever responded. When I arrived, I mentioned this to several employees and no one seemed to care. My husband and I were approached to dine, as this place is mostly a restaurant. I told the mam that we were here for a tasting. He said we can sit anywhere. We sat at the bar. There were 2 bartenders. We sat right in front of them. It took 3 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. My husband chose the moonshine tasting and I sampled my own. After talking to the bartenders and letting them know some things about spirits, they let their guard down and became friendly. Some of the things we tasted were nice, some tasted very young. Prices were decent. I would return for a tour in the future. read more

It's Memorial Weekend. We planned to meet a friend here but couldn't get the hours on their website or on the phone !! Soooo, we stopped in on Sunday to ask about their Holiday hours for Monday (Memorial Day). YES, they would be open !! Sunday ~ First off, walking into this place looks & feels like an old Church.... We did finally order the Seared Tuna Plate. Delicious & light !! My husband ordered the Non-alcohol Bloody Mary with serano pepper..... just the right amount of heat for him !! While I ordered the Cucumber Vodka, straight on ice !! MMMMM, it is that smooth. On Monday, we did meet our friend. We sat at a table with Grace H. as our Server. A VERY delightful young lady. Pleasant and prompt in getting drinks to us. My husband ordered the N/A Bloody Mary again while I ordered their Old Fashion cocktail. Both were very good and Grace was very busy tending between her tables. This time we ordered the brisket sandwich with Bourbon baked beans & coleslaw. It came with some cornbread as well. Everything was delicious in flavor. Very tender and enough to split, in our opinion. We wished they had some BBQ sauce on the side to add more to the sandwich though. It was perfect for me, but my husband thought it was a bit dry. The extra sauce probably would have fixed that. Our friend ordered the Seared Tuna Plate, which she enjoyed as well as we did the day before. Our only complaint was ~ two days in a row, we had to ask for silverware settings. Such a gem! This place is aesthetically pleasing. I love the use of their alcoholic and non alcoholic products along the back wall on the black shelves. The mix of high and low tables is nice. The drinks were flavorful and presented well. The food overall was outstanding. Even my kids enjoyed their meal selections. We started with the Smokey Goat Cheese and pita chips. This was by far my favorite. All the flavors completed each other well. My kids chose the cheesy bread which was inhaled. For dinner selections, the Cesar salad was plentiful and of good quality. The buildings are fabulous!!! The ambiance is great too. It's a 10/10 visually. So, we were really excited to try this restaurant. The service wasn't great and servers weren't sure what tables they had. The server wasn't familiar with the menu either. They were out of beer except for a marginal can and the wine offering was dismal as well. We didn't try the spirits, but they did look good. The food was a big disappointment. It was served barely warm. I noticed unmotivated food runners bringing plates from the other building to the distillery side, so that that probably cooled it. The food lacked originality and creativity. Just bland and made with subpar ingredients. This place has so much potential. I hope they bring in a real chef and manager. read more
