It reminds me a bit of the Goblin Market in Mount Dora, only not as busy with the decor. Service is top notch and I believe reservations are required, although I'd HIGHKY recommend reserving in advance either way. We reserved the night prior and only 9pm was available, which is way later than we usually eat. Anyway, we ordered the she crab soup, shrimp and grits, corn bread fried oysters, sweet potato ravioli, and the chef's fried chicken. Our favorite was the Shrimp and grits, but really every bite of every dish was amazing. Wow. I really don't need to say more! Went there by friend's recommendation during a day trip to Savannah, and we easily spent 2 hours there. Food is amazing!! We had to order seconds of those delicious crab beignets! Green fried tomatoes, salads, fish, fried chicken.. everything our party had was prepared with love. Service by Emoni was impeccable!! We tried making reservations online but said they were full so we tried calling at it was so hard to hear the person on the other end of the phone so we opted for walking and getting a reservation in person. Even with our reservations at 9pm at night the place was still busy with people coming and going. The food we ordered was delicious and came out in a timely manner. The Olde Pink House was the perfect way to wrap up our first day in Savannah. First of all, it's a big beautiful pink house. All the vibes as you walk in. It's dark and cozy and so historic. We were seated in the best little nook on the lower level, just off the bar. We could hear the live music trickle in as we enjoyed dinner. The food was amazing, from start to finish. The drinks were some of the best we've ever had. We had the best service from the bartender at the bar while we waited for our table to be ready to our server - who was full of recommendations and suggestions. First things first. If you want to eat here, you need to plan ahead and make reservations (unless of course you want to go at an off time or really late). We were there for a conference and luckily someone made a Friday night reservation months in advance. It's funny that an Uber driver for one person in the party commented to not eat here because it's a tourist trap. Well I'm glad that we ate here. The service was awesome and the food and cocktails were great. Was it pricy? I'd say slightly but given the great service, great food, and great cocktails, it was a good value. I'm not sure if this is an every night occurrence but there was a female singer roaming the floor also. She had a booming voice. We were in a semi-private room and she came in to check in on us a few times which was really nice. I had a Bloody Mary and it was really good with a good amount of heat and generous vegetables. For dinner, I ordered the Crab Stuffed Grouper special. The portion size was good and it sat atop mashed potatoes alongside green beans. My plate was clean! Several people ordered the shrimp and scallop fettuccine and like my plate, those plates were also clean. Had a nice day visit the Historic District and stopped in for lunch. We were celebrating our anniversary, and decided the Olde Pink House was a great choice. The servers offered us a few different choices for tables. They had a table in the main upstairs dining room and we were escorted upstairs. The mansion is stunning and really makes you look around amazed. After we were seated Jaden came by to talk to us, and take drink orders. We tried the Pork Nachos, as per Jaden's recommendation. The grits were a grit cake, with the shrimp on top, with collard greens on the side. Amazing flavor, so delicious. The fish sandwich was delicious. I had mahi mahi with a flavorful dressing, and a side of spinach. The mahi was huge and perfectly cooked on a tasty brioche roll. Since we were celebrating our anniversary we decided on dessert. Before our dessert came, they brought a candlestick to the table. Nice touch. We had the Peanut Butter and Praline Mousse bombe. Outstanding! So rich and delicious. After so many outstanding reviews saying this is a must stop restaurant in Savannah, somewhat disappointed in our first meal of the trip. Our server Wendy was excellent but the food fell short. Drinks were great, we tried the planters punch and pink lady. For apps we got the low country she crab soup and the crab cakes, both delicious and also the homemade biscuits- chefs kiss, perfect! The entrees we ordered the filet mignon and special stuffed grouper, but a long lag of probably 30 mins between apps and entree was unexpected. Our server apologized but once food came out both were more room temp than hot off the stove sadly. Based on their prices and difficulty getting reservations you would expect a lot more as far as food quality, timing and temperature. The experience left a lot to be desired. For the life of me, I can't grasp any experience at the Olde Pink House as anything less than special. First, our server Brianna was excellent. In addition to her attentiveness, she never hesitated at getting answers to questions in which she didn't have expertise. Her manager, Justin, Aldo made multiple table visits to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. The food was outstanding, both my wife's salmon and my grouper. Perfectly cooked, with balanced textures and flavors. Our blackened oyster appetizer was also excellent. Even their biscuits were among the best I ever had. The wine list is not as extensive as other restaurants of similar class, but its diversity exceeded many of those others. Having access to a Spanish voldeorras was a real treat! On our next visit we plan on dining in the historic basement tavern. The candlelit walls and tables appear to take it back in time. As a side note to gentleman diners, if you're not comfortable in a tie maybe you can at least find a shirt with a collar. And maybe leave the ball caps at home. I've been disappointed by this place twice. We arrived in Savannah on Friday. My reservation was made months in advance in celebration of our 1st anniversary. I check in with the woman out front to confirm the reservation. She asked a few questions and soon a photo of me comes up. I ask about the reservation and confirm the photo on her tablet was me. She asked me again for my phone number and then my reservation is now gone. She again asked for my name and phone number. She is visibly confused as she fumbles with her tablet. After several attempts at her trying to find my reservation, she says that I do not have a reservation and earliest I could have dinner was 9 pm. Willing to give up my dinner reservation I asked to reserve a time at lunch. She did a few things on her tablet and said I had a reservation at 11 am for lunch. She added that I would receive a confirmation. On that Saturday, I did not receive a confirmation nor did I receive a phone call. I must say I was very disappointed as this place was highly recommended by friends. I don't know if I'll try to reserve again next time I'm in Savannah. And there's a tariff for that prettiness - you dress up and smile and sit quietly and agree, "Yes, that's certainly pretty," and your wife is happy. It's what one does. The Olde Pink House is a famously pretty place, and I dutifully told my wife about it while researching our trip to Savannah. We made reservations - and, yes, it's got that "pretty tax" attached to the pricing. Oh goody. Anyhow, when we showed up, I kinda had to eat my grumpiness. Yes, The Olde Pink ("Pinke"?) House is beautiful - pretty/Pretty/PRETTY like a museum (albeit a creaky one) - like the professionally restored (by the famous Jim Williams) and enlarged old mansion it is. And the service is sweet and very gracious and friendly (Thank you, Aya! congratulations on your degree and good luck on your Masters!) and - here's the shocker - the food here is REALLY delicious. My wife is still carrying on about her crispy flounder with the spicy apricot salsa, and I have to concur that the creamy grits and perfect collard greens that accompanied it were perfection. (The fried green tomatoes with pickled red cabbage and creamed corn didn't do it for me - I'd skip them next time. I've had perfect FGTs before, and these were not they.) The Olde Pink house in Savannah,GA is undeniably stunning. The moment you walk in you feel like you have stepped back in time. From the Ballroom to the architecture really shows how they have kept this houses history intact. I highly recommend making a reservation, they are always busy. Our waitress even gave us a mini history lesson right at the table, which added so much charm to the evening. She told us about the speakeasy in the basement and we were able to see it on our way out. It's so classy and reminded me of something out of the pirates of the Caribbean. As for the food, it was good, but it didn't quite live up to the high expectations set by many of my friends. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, southern sushi, the filet mignon, and the fried chicken. The fried chicken was definitely the standout- flavorful, juicy, and served in a huge portion. It honestly felt like the best thing on the menu. Overall, the Old Pink House is absolutely worth visiting for the atmosphere, history, and romantic setting alone. But next time, to save a little money, i would probably go for lunch instead of dinner. read more
