I like my SUV, but I want to make sure that they have good gas mileage as well. So after a search I found what I thought I was going to like and Bud's had one that I wanted to test drive. I have never been to Beaverdale before so coming to the area was new to me. When you come upon Bud's it is kind of like BAM, here's our cars, right up on the road and all the way up the hill. It was a bit odd, but not unexpected. The hardest part about this place is that the office is located across the street from the car lot, so going back and forth you need to be careful because this road is the main through way in the area. The day I showed up we had just had a winter storm, so the cars all had a good amount of snow on them. I walked into the office and told them that I wanted to test drive one of the cars on the lot. It took them a minute to locate and clean off the car, while I waited for them to do that, they did a little paper work on their end to pull up my information and what not. Once the car was ready I took it for a test drive and then came back to the office. I'm always nervous when I go car shopping, the worst part is waiting to see if your credit is good enough for the numbers to match. I knew my credit was decent but what was hurting me here was the negative equity I had on my current vehicle. Here is why this place is good, instead of stringing you along and trying to crunch the numbers to work for them to get you into a car they guy that was helping me just spoke the truth. I really appreciated that, and not sure if he knows how much he helped me. He told me because of the amount of negative equity that he would not feel comfortable getting me into a car just for the sake of getting me into a car. Instead he told me that my best option was to purchase a new car because that would be beneficial for me because of my unique situation. Not only did he give me this advice, but he also referred me to a dealership that he knew would help me in this situation. Although I did not go that direct route he gave me, I did take his advice and use it. Who does that? Gives you advice to go to another dealership and lose a sale. A genuine person, that's who. I previously looked at jdbyrider which was amusing to say the best. You never look at a car at jdb and they want 10+ references. I've heard they video tape your transaction if they get you into a car. My credit isn't the best but it's also not the worst. The problems on my credit weren't related to my doing. Without dealerships like C&R people would be stuck in the never-ending loop of buying junk cars over and over again. That is if you can find one since the government made people smash em so they could buy from Government Motors.

The salesman and I waited an hour for the sales manager to come back from his lunch so he could do the appraisal on my current car. Now mind you I had this car there not 3 months ago because I was interested in purchasing a new truck then. The appraisal then was $9000. Granted I get the engine is going to cost roughly 4k so I'm guessing they'll come back around $4500ish. Boy was I wrong. They offered me $1000 for my trade in. A thousand bucks! So I asked why on earth is it so low. The sales manager says it's because the engine cost $7000. Ahhhh no. The service manager just quoted me $3875! So he goes and talks to the service manager who of course back tracks and says it's impossible to find the engine anywhere. And the sales manager says that's why it's so low. I think at this point he forgot everyone carries the internet in their pocket. I pulled out my phone and after a 5 second search and a 30 second phone call I find an engine for $2950 with a 5 year / 50k miles warranty. I give him this info. He increases the offer to $2000. Give me a break.... The first salesman says he'll see what he can do and give me a call before he leaves at 5:30. Here I sit the next day 24 hours later with no call back.
