Well the GMC has a rebate on the new Sierra 1500 4 cylinder truck. I called to see if they had one on the lot. The saleswoman said they had crazy discounts and listed them they added up to about $3500. None were the rebate so the dealer or at least the salesperson was trying to offer me discounts missing $4000 minimum and then tried to convince me that the GMC website was wrong. Beware of the fine print with the scratch and dent warranties I had a very small ding but because it barely cut into the paint 1/8" they would not cover it most of the people I showed it too said if they didn't cover that small ding they won't cover anything, it's a complete waste of money! Don't let them talk you into it. read more

Don't help the customer We purchased a Buick Envision in June of 2017, not cheap! On July 2, 2017 with only 6,017 miles I take it in for an oil change. I show the gentleman how the paint is pitting near the wheel area and under the doors. He suggested I purchase mud flaps for the price of the vehicle they should have come with it. I went to the auto body shop to see how much it would cost to paint these areas. I let them paint the car and attach the mud flaps for a nice cost of $943.61. Remember I only have 6,109 miles on the car. Winter time rolls around and then comes spring 2019 and I'm able to wash my vehicle by hand and notice pitting in the same areas that were just painted. At this time I only have 12,000 mile, hardly driven. I drive to the shop and showed them the pitting and told them their paint job didn't work and questioned why there was no clear coating. Jonas who worked there tells me they did a good job and that it's because the state changed their winter materials. Jonas says that he'll get back with you it's been over four months, crickets. To cover all areas I called PennDot maintenance and spoke to a nice gentleman Mr. Decker to see if they did change winter materials. PennDot has not changed any of their materials for years. Jonas from Thomas Auto Body lied to my face! I decided contact someone higher up in the company and emailed Mr. Ingram on 9/12/2017- crickets. Thomas is more than happy to take your hard earned money BUT they do not stand behind their vehicles. This is very sad because my husband and I decided to buy locally to help the Johnstown economy and this is the thanks that we received. We'll never buy from Thomas ever again. We'll drive to Altoona before we ever do this again. Yes, I did reach out to Buick directly in the beginning and that wasn't covered by them. And yes this is our first American made car. read more

Terrible dealership. After I left the lot they wanted nothing to do with me. And I'm guessing they never inspected the used car I bought, when they got it in because when I got it home, I had to change the brakes and the pads crumbled apart in my hands they were so old. If they did inspect it and let it get sold like that anyway, then they are just negligent. And I purchased it in November with snow all over. It was a dangerous ride home but I had no idea how risky it was with the brakes. Never, ever, buy a car here. read more

Told me my brakes were bad and needed replaced for inspection. Waited 2 months and finally got it in the shop to have them replaced. Shop called me asking why I wanted my brakes replaced they both measured over 10/32. Your tech wrote 3/32 and 5/32. Stealership trying to get money out of me. Cut and welded a new catalytic converter on my vehicle. It was the wrong one out of the two. Voided the factory warranty when you cut it. Which then took you another 2 months to admit and buy a new factory catalytic converter so my check engine light would go off. All I ask is for honestly from a dealership. I'll give it 2 stars because of my sales guy being a great person through most of this. read more

Purchased a hummer in February and mentioned that this hummer was extremely loud when I test drove it . I was told by management that it was loud because of a special add on muffler that the previous owner put on because he wanted the loud noise. Muffler fell off 2 months after I purchased it and they wouldn't fix it because it wasn't a "special muffler" it was a rusted muffler. I know I should have looked under the truck myself before I purchased it but I guess I am a trusting guy. read more

We were very excited to purchase our first brand new vehicle with less than 100,000 miles. We drive it home and quickly found that the headlights were not to our liking. We immediately called Tom Kirby our salesman the next day of business. He promised all kinds of things and gave a list of options. I took the vehicle in on the scheduled day and no parts were ordered! It was very frustrating and we dealt for over a month with a brand-new vehicle and no results have been made. We tried to contact GMC and no results to date have occurred. We are very frustrated and are now trying to return the vehicle. But because of Tom Kirby and saying that he was able to do things we are now too late to return the vehicle and I'm sure by now my trade-in has already been moved to another dealership. Now we are stuck with a vehicle that we do not feel safe driving at night. We constantly got the runaround and the problem that we were having with the headlights were never addressed. They attempted fog lights but that was basically mounting a flashlight to the dash. Now we have a chrome grill and fog light covers that appear to of been chewed up by the service department. I think my toddler would of done a better and more careful job! We were so excited to finally spend the extra money to buy a brand-new vehicle. (We have never owned a vehicle that was new to us) Now it is nothing but a frustration and a disappointment in the GMC family. Our new car buying experience has now been tainted by faulty customer service and shady salesman. I would love to talk to the owner Mark Thomas and stress my concerns. This is an issue that he needs to be made aware of. read more

I have had service several times at Thomas. Once I went in for an inspection, I was quoted $150 as it needed brake pads. The next time I spoke with them it was $250, then $350 and finally $650. We had body work done from an accident, it looked pretty good but the hood has a bit of misalignment. I took in my certified truck, I had a check engine light. They reset it and said if it happen again we will fix it, it is only an hour plus drive to the dealership. My wife caught a rock and had her windshield replaced, the dealership told us as we are regular customers there is no cost for an inspection. We took it up to have the sticker replaced, it cost us $9.00, I should have had it inspected. There are many small issues with the service department that could help it much. We took our car in for a regular service, oil changer and tire rotation. The tech said there is a lot of mud in the wheels which he had to remove to rotate them and told me it will most likely vibrate while it is being driven, why did he not knock off the mud while he had them off? He also never adjusted the pressure on the tires from the rotation. The salesman tries to help but it seems useless. Tom may have sold his last car to us, I expect professionalism and quality, it seems to be missing there in their service department..... read more

Since moving to Pennsylvania 4 years ago, I have been dealing with Thomas Buick for maintenance and repairs. Due to some physical challenges, I own a customized car and therefore am unable to drive a "loaner." The service department knows that, and has consistently provided prompt, courteous attention to any work that's of a more urgent nature. In February of 2018 I began the major task of looking for a newer car to replace the 12-year-old Lucerne because it was now getting into high mileage. Knowing my special needs, Mr. Ray Riley, in service, had Mr. William "Bill" Ingram, General Manager, contact me by phone. I advised him about my circumstances related to driving, explaining that since I cannot test drive a vehicle, I have to make sure that it meets my requirements for customization and eventual operation. I therefore have to purchase any car before I can drive it at all, because it must first be adapted. From that point on, Mr. Ingram very patiently and painstakingly searched for a vehicle which I could access relatively easily, and which would readily lend itself to modifying with the equipment I needed. Over a period of about two months, Mr. Ingram showed me several vehicles, including both new and pre-owned, until he found one that would meet all the necessary criteria. One extremely important detail involved the initial accessibility of the seat itself. I settled on a pre-owned vehicle that appeared to be in excellent condition. Mr. Ingram then very respectfully agreed that one of my family members could examine the vehicle for me. The family member reported that the car looked to be "a good 8 to 9 on a scale of 1-10," including the underside. He reported that the 8 was mainly due to the combination of slight wear on the tires, some mileage and such factors related to a pre-owned vehicle. Following his assessment, he recommended two changes, to which Mr. Riley agreed. I immediately purchased the car. Thomas Buick's drivers delivered it to Total Mobility, located in Boswell, PA, the business doing all the adaptive work. I picked up my customized Buick at that garage on my now "lucky" day, Friday April 13 when I drove it for the very first time! It was perfect! I sincerely thank Mr. Riley for referring me to Mr. Ingram. I thank Mr. Ingram for the amount of time, patience, and resourcefulness he put into this assignment. He was with me every step of the long journey. I strongly advise ANY driver with special/mobility challenges to please ask for Mr. Ingram when embarking on the search for another vehicle.
