I'm happy to say, I was extremely pleased with my food at Burrtio Amor! I ordered the Chicken Burrito, added bell peppers and topped it with a coconut tortilla. It was delicious. The table spaces they provide and also a great way to add a little kick to your burrito. The service was good! The food was delivered to the table fast, everyone's orders were correct and nobody had any complaints about their entrees. Drinks were as good and they were ONLY $6!! I'm not really sure what all the hype is about but I thought the burrito here was pretty average. I got the pork and pineapple burrito (139 pesos) which was good but not amazing like the other reviews stated. We came here on a Saturday evening and the place was packed. At first they said they couldn't accommodate a group of 7, but we asked if they could do so if they divided up the group into different tables. They agreed to that so we waited about 30 minutes to get seated. The decor I'm sure is cute but it was hard to fully appreciate at night since it was pretty dark inside. The burritos came out wrapped in banana leaves and were hot. I guess before coming here I was intrigued by pics of the green leaves covering the burritos and thought that was edible and part of the burrito. I guess I didn't read the reviews carefully but the green covering is actually banana leaves that you remove. Prices seemed very reasonable. Overall again the burrito was good but I didn't love it. I thought flavors and textures were just ok. I would consider coming back to try it again though. read more

Yes, this is definitely a touristy spot, but it does serve a great burrito. I got the rib eye beef burrito for breakfast because Im not big on eggs and what not haha so I usually skip to the lunch options. The meat was delicious and juicy, lots of flavours. On the table, it comes with a sauce tray, with four different sauces to try out. I think I recall two being hot and the other two didn't have any heat at all, but all four were flavourful. One of the best burritos I've had!! I got the chicken burrito and they bring it out while it's still nice and hot and wrapped in banana leaves. The ambiance of the place is very nice and chill. They have a pretty extensive menu with lots of different drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) and lots of different food options as well. Absolutely IN LOVE with this place!! What a find. Thank you Yelp! Our group of 10 were split up so 4 of us had to grab breakfast for everyone and we couldn't have come across a better place to do so. One of our friends has celiac and she was able to get multiple things which is amazing in an unfamiliar place. Two of us went with the alkalizer juice and another the caramel smoothie. The latter actually tasted nothing like caramel imo, but it was fantastic! You can definitely taste the figs -- it was such a nutritious treat. She also got the banana chia pudding which tasted just like a Samoan dish my dad would always make growing up called suafa'i. Delightful. Our celiac friend had the shrimp aguachile to which I blurted out, "holy f***" when I tried it. I don't think I've ever had a cevice sibling that was so fresh and flavorful. After all the shrimp was gone, I proceeded to eat almost all of the cucumbers that were left. Must try. I chose to share the smoked pork breakfast burrito and the eye fillet of beef. They didn't disappoint. I feel like you couldn't go wrong ordering anything here. Love the open air setting and laid-back style of the restaurant. All the pictures on here are accurate. The burritos are really good. We saw this place from the road and it just screams hip and trendy. The rib eye and shrimp burritos were really good. Of course I found Burrito Amor while searching on Yelp in Tulum of great places to eat! It was a short taxi ride from our resort, and we arrived there around 11am. There were a good amount of people already there dining or getting take out. All of their burritos are served wrapped in banana leaves and truly taste amazing. Coming from Hawaii where there isn't much good Mexican Cuisine, I was in heaven here! I decided to order a breakfast burrito and my boyfriend got an al pastor burrito. We also got horchata, and they have a variety of drinks to order from juices to cocktails. I really loved to see locals eating here, as well as visitors from all around the world. I ordered my al pastor burrito with a few keto accommodations (no rice, tortilla on the side, add cheese and avocado), and the waiter was super nice and on point about it. They also serve you these 3 bomb-ass sauces with your meal that add creamy spiciness to varying degrees. This was definitely my favourite meal during my Tulum trip. So much so that my friends and I came here twice! I'd recommend the vegetarian burrito (you can make it vegan w/o the cheese). It tasted amaaaazing on both visits and tasted great with their salsas. I loved the smoothie choices as well, which contained lots of health beneficial ingredients compared to your typical fruit only generic smoothies. Burritos were definitely delectable, and drinks were decently alcoholic and fairly priced. If I had to rate this spot just on food, it would be 4-5 stars. The real issues I had with this spot were how it is operated and the service. Maybe we stopped in on a bad night, but I'm pretty sure I've had better service at Chick-Fil-A. To get seated, you're asked to write your name on a list. This seems a little antiquated, and because customers are adding their own name, it's also a little bit of a free-for-all. Our wait wasn't that bad for 8PM around New Years; probably no more than 30 minutes. It would have been great if we could have ordered drinks from the bar, but this wasn't an option. After being seated, we were asked if we could split our already small table for 2 with another couple. From glancing around, sharing tables seemed to be common at Burrito Amor. I can't decide if this is due to them trying to squeeze in as many folks as possible to maximize business, or just a cultural norm to Tulum. Normally I would actually be okay with splitting a table that is large enough to appropriately share, but ours was already a little on the small side for 2 people. For these reasons we declined this request from the restaurant, but it was bizarre nontheless. We proceeded to order drinks, but it felt like an eternity before they arrived at our table. We're talking at least 20-30 minutes for 2 Mezcal Margaritas (nothing that complicated for a spot in Tulum). The time from ordering until receiving food took even longer. We also had to chase down a random server to request our check, and paying by credit card tacked on an additional 20 minutes. I would have expected this to be more of a fast casual spot taking 45-60 min, but the entire experience took over 90. Who knows how long we actually would have been there had we not continuously followed up with different servers. I can enjoy a nice dining experience that isn't in-and-out fast food, so as long as the food (or at least drinks) come at a steady pace. This wasn't the case at Burrito Amor. Overall, Burrito Amor seems to have nailed the food side of things, but logistically needs a better service system in place and/or more workers to maintain a better customer experience. read more

This place is so delicious and earth friendly. All of their seating is outside and it's in the middle of busy downtown Tulum. The prices are very fair and the people are nice. They have meat options , vegetarian and vegan. They wrap their burritos in banana leaves which i thought was awesome. Wow this place is amazing . They have great breakfast, lunch and dinner options . You must try the rib eye beef burrito. Better than any burrito I've had even in Los Angeles. You have the option of getting it in a handmade coconut tortilla or wheat tortilla . I tried the coconut tortilla and it was actually similar taste to a regular tortilla and not coconuty. The burrito comes wrapped in banana leaves. They also bring complimentary fresh and warm house made tortilla chips with pico de gallo . Guacamole is extra but also very good. They have 4 different salsas in a bottle too if you want to add spice ( habenjero, jalapeño , olive oil with coconut, and chipotle aioli) but the rib eye is flavorful enough just by itself . Pricing is way less than other restaurants near the resorts and beach. For breakfast, the vanilla muffin is out of this world . That with some fresh coffee is satisfying enough but I took it a step further and ordered the tropical fruit salad and added the natural unsweetened yogurt and house made cinnamon granola that is vegan, gluten-free and grain free.
