816 Day Scavenger Hunt Stop Tasty taco bursting with flavors and textures. Loved the addition of the sweet and mild corn salsa. Beware, hot means hot! The second to hottest salsa had my mouth tingling but was delicious. I always add jalapeños. However, they weren't necessary because the spice level was there! Great selection of meats and toppings and an affordable price for under $3 a taco. The chicken was tender and tasted of slight char. It seemed to be grilled fresh. Which isn't the case at some taquerias. The service was fast and friendly, I'm so surprised I have never stopped by this place since it's conveniently located right in the heart of the river market now, I'll be adding it to my rotation of favorites!

I was craving chipotle today and decided to finally give this spot a spin! It did not disappoint. I wasn't even sure where to start, and the worker at the counter was patient and offered suggestions and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Service was prompt, portions were huge, and my bowl came with chips! The queso was extra but was worth it because it was delicious. A small space that's easy to miss but worth stopping in for delicious fast casual food.

The better, friendlier chipotle. Fast service, generous servings, and fresh ingredients. Plus free tortilla chips if you ask for em. Tons of seating options around the market to enjoy your food.

You're telling me I could have been eating burrito bowls this good in River Market instead of driving to the nearest Chipotle or Qdoba?? I love supporting local when I can, so this is going to be my go-to spot now. My online order burrito bowl was made with lightning speed - literally ready for pick-up in 5 minutes. The portions are huge! Tons of the toppings are included with the bowl price, but it's worth it to splurge for the guac. delicious! This place checks all the boxes. I love that you get a bag of chips and salsa included with your entree. They periodically have deals on tacos so keep your eyes on their social media!

Perfect Mexican food - abundant portion sizes, excellent taste, and top notch service.

This food was very good and very filling - Didn't know if I had it in me to finish my second taco! Workers were very nice and options were easy to read and find. Would be great to eat outside with nice weather but was also nice there's heaters for chillier days like today! Would come back.

Sat Jan 23rd My wife brought this home for me once before and I have been craving it since. I ordered the Chorizo Burrito with tomatillo salsa and it was very flavorful, it also comes with fresh tortilla chips and a side of salsa. The Burritos are very filling and they offer great portions, I definitely had leftovers. The salsa that they offer adds a lot of flavor to the profile of the food and is a must-have. The food is made fresh right in front of you and you pick all the filling. The price and the quality of the food are definitely a reason to try this place if you have not, I have been back several times since then and will be a regular moving forward.

Nice atmosphere in City Market! Felt a lot like we were in Mexico with the music and concrete/brick atmosphere! The nachos were good- the corn chips were very corny! The shrimp burrito was an adequate portion. We'd eat here again.

I was craving a breakfast burrito and was in the area, so I gave Burrito Bros a shot. I wound up selecting the burrito with chorizo, but it just did not hit the spot since it was average at best with how it tasted. It was lacking a distinct ingredient or two to make it standout and be worthwhile to order again. Chips are provided with the cost of the burrito; however I didn't see a salsa bar and no salsa was provided or offered. If there are other options close by you may want to give them a try first.

Just say no! (To the nachos at least!) I don't eat meat very often. I thought I'd splurge. Ordered nachos with pastor. HUGE let down! I guess I ordered the wrong thing! The so called cheese 'sauce' was comparable to movie theater nachos. No joke! I even asked what kind of cheese they use- they couldn't tell me! And it was greasy! Large portions, and I would say fair price but no, not for movie theater tacos. Taco bell nachos were better! And the pastor was just salty!

Burritos were not good in the slightest. Tasted acidic, stale, and was just not good. At least the chips tasted good though!

Even worse, we arrived after the Friday lunch rush - around 1:30-1:45p - and despite plenty of staff and few customers, we were largely ignored. Maybe it was because the server presented us with the dinner menu and we asked for the lunch menu. That was apparently our mistake because thereafter, we became invisible. When our food came out, the plate was hot but everything else - enchilada's, beans etc. were barely lukewarm. Flavors were very ordinary - honestly think it was on par with fast food. The World Cup was in KC and all the restaurants included a tip, so perhaps the lack of incentive was contributed to the poor service (no drink reorders, no water or salsa refills, nothing. Needless to say, try it if you don't mind being disappointed - would never recommend this place in a thousand years!

I called to make a reservation and the hostess had a had time hearing me, even though I could hear the conversation of the 2 employees near the phone. Instead of moving, she asked me to call back. When I did she still couldn't hear me, but again I could hear the conversations of the people around her, so I spoke up louder and had to repeat myself several times. The hostess said in Spanish, " This bitch is being rude and annoying." When I spoke to her in Spanish and she realized I heard what she said her attitude changed. All of a sudden the background noise stopped and she could hear me very clear and was able to help out. When I asked for her name she hung up on me. At dinner the table ordered a round of drinks and it took 25 min to receive our drinks even though it was a Wednesday and the restaurant wasn't busy. Our waitress only checked on our table when she took the order, dropped off the drinks, and drop off the check. The food was not worth the service I received. Most of the waiters were just standing around talking amongst themselves.

Arriving on a taco Tuesday at 6pm to an empty restaurant probably should have been my first clue, but at this point still hoping I was in on something good and everyone else was just missing out (very wrong). First, $5 for chips and salsa - not always fun to pay for chips and salsa when most places don't charge, but I understand it. However, chips were on the stale side and the salsa, while flavorful, was very mild and way over salted. We couldn't enjoy much of it. I asked the server about taco Tuesday specials featured directly on their website, had to ask the question a couple different times before she landed on telling me they got a new pay system and since the deal wasn't in the system, she couldn't honor the deal. She also seemed confused, so I didn't push further. Ordered waters (never received them), house margaritas (not too sweet, generous, and strong - pretty great marg!) and street tacos (chicken, pastor, asada - all incredible dry and under seasoned, didn't taste like they had marinated in anything, I was genuinely baffled by this). My tacos came out a full 10 minutes before my friend's tacos (same exact taco order - and I'll remind you we're still the only people in the restaurant...). We then watched our server get a little upset with the cook while pointing to our table, so there were some interesting, public communication issues among the staff. Finally, when the time came to pay, they presented their tap system, where the server was walked me through my items and processed it, quickly selecting the tip amount on my behalf me and finalizing it before I could say anything. I asked her about the tip, she pointed to show me how much it was, and I shared that I understand that but she selected it for me. She laughed, said thanks, walked away. I wasn't planning to return based on the food, but the forced tip amount at the end of a pretty bad dinner experience was what really changed the tone of my review. I love local Mexican spots and I hope they read this and make some changes to their service. NKC is growing and I'd hate for them to fall flat among the other competitors doing a little more for their customers.

It's located on the west side of the railroad tracks, just west of Santa Fe & Kansas Ave. They typically have a little bit of seating and a tent for shade set up, if you want to eat on site; however, we've simply ordered online and picked up each time, which has worked flawlessly! Our meals have been ready within 60 seconds of checking in each time! We've tried all their basics - the street tacos, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, and sopes! Despite the food in the namesake, our favorite has actually been....the burritos! In fact, my son - who is at the intersection of picky boy and growing, hungry teen - absolutely LOVES their burritos here! Despite the fact that they are fairly large (not quite Chipotle-size...but knocking on the door!), he swears he could "easily eat two"! I haven't let him try yet...but between you and me, I'm sure he probably could...and WOULD! My daughter's favorite is the tacos birria, and while I have enjoyed it all, I, like my son, have a soft spot for the chicken burrito or asada burrito! My last note on the food: you MUST try their salsas! The verde is extremely fresh and bright, and the spicy (orange in color) is an incredible add-on to most of their dishes! (As someone who's comfortable with spice, I'd rate the spice level at a 0/10 for the verde, and a 6/10 for the spicy!). I literally douse almost every bite with the spicy salsa! The folks working the truck are always very kind, helpful, and friendly! The prices are on par for what you'd expect. My primary beef (pun!) with their pricing is that you can get certain different meats on the tacos, tortas, and sopes., but NOT with the burritos or quesadillas! I'd die of happiness if they'd offer at least the Asada and Pastor options at no-additional-cost for the burritos! Food = 5/5 Facility = 3/5 Service = 4/5 Ambiance = 4/5 (one over "average" due to seating/shade on site!) Value = 2/5 (one below "average" for charging extra for meat options)
