I went to this place to get something to eat to kill some time and just sit and people watch. The carnitas burrito was pretty good, not bad. Kind of a "Chipotle" type process in making the burrito. My only problem is they charge 55 cents each for a little cilantro and a small amount of chopped onion. Will I be back? Maybe. But I'll get the burrito plain next time. read more

The second to hottest salsa had my mouth tingling but was delicious. I always add jalapeños. However, they weren't necessary because the spice level was there! Great selection of meats and toppings and an affordable price for under $3 a taco. The chicken was tender and tasted of slight char. It seemed to be grilled fresh. Which isn't the case at some taquerias. I recently went here and got a chicken burrito which had a good amount of delicious, perfectly cooked and season chicken with a solid ratio of meat to rice and beans. I would note that some toppings cost extra but they don't let you know (e.g., onions, guacamole). Burrito Bros also does not mess around with the spice level-I have a high spice tolerance and got the salsa with ghost peppers and could not finish my burrito because of the spice level. My husband and I used to eat here every single weekend. we moved away 10 years ago and every single time we came back to visit it was our first stop we always raved about how amazing the food was to friends It looks like at some point new owners took over and the quality went to crap, they charge for things that the original owners never ever charged for, they don't provide chips anymore with the bowl, the rice recipe changed completely and was hard and old, it was always spotless this time was gross and not clean.... Ok, so after going through the reviews, I realized that most of the 5 stars are from 4 years ago and every thing makes sense. The food is NASTY. Down right horrible; they should be kicked out of City Market. The nachos were inedible because the chips were disgustingly stale. The burrito was edible but overall lacked flavor. Chipotle would have been better and cheaper, and that's saying A LOT in itself. The employees talked so low that I could barely hear them and then laughed at me when I asked them to repeat themselves. The Burritos are very filling and they offer great portions, I definitely had leftovers. The salsa that they offer adds a lot of flavor to the profile of the food and is a must-have. The food is made fresh right in front of you and you pick all the filling. Finally tried Burrito Bros after walking by it numerous times throughout our visits to River Market. The food here always sounds good and smells good when you walk by. The menu has a pretty good selection and you can do veggie options too. I had the street tacos and tried three different protein options. The tacos were done relatively quickly and look delicious. The gal definitely added way too many raw onions. The tacos were better than I expected and their hot sauce had a ton of flavor. I did get a piece of plastic wrap in one of my tacos which came from the protein that was in the taco. I can't say this really bothered me because this kind of stuff can happen easily but still not a great thing when you are a public restaurant. The veggie burrito we got was really good and actually had a ton of flavor. It was nice we could eat out in the main walkway area during a cold December day due to the garage doors being closed and the heaters being on. I wound up selecting the burrito with chorizo, but it just did not hit the spot since it was average at best with how it tasted. Walking around the River Market on a Monday lunchtime, I noticed this place was extremely busy. I did have a burrito a couple days ago, but the folks I was with insisted on eating here, so I complied. I had the carnitas as I had a steak burrito a few days ago and wanted pulled pork this time. Sadly guacamole costs extra and the price was already a bit steep for a burrito, so I opted not to add it. Their cheese was delicious, as were the sauces. The tortilla chips were flavourless, so I only ended up eating a couple pieces. The pulled pork was okay, but I will admit I've had better. Excellent quantity though. This place is counter service, so there wasn't much to evaluate for service there. I ate lunch here with my fellow associates. I ordered a steak burrito ($6.25) and a fountain soda ($1.75). It was similar to Chipotle where you tell them what you want on your food. Oh and almost everything costs extra like cheese, guacamole and some others that I forgot. I think every order comes with chips. There weren't too many seats inside because the place was pretty small. The steak burrito tasted good and even better with the hot sauce on every table. The steak wasn't like what I'm used to in California where it had a grilled taste to it; however, this was still good. I forgot to take a picture of the hot sauce but try it out if you like your food spicy/hot. It was pretty busy while we were eating and the line almost went out the door. I enjoyed my chorizo burrito at Burrito Bros. It was delicious, and way better than the chorizo Chipotle used to offer. My only issue with the experience was that the employee accidentally knocked my burrito basket over, spilling my chips on the counter by the register. Instead of getting me new chips, he just scooped them off the counter, and back into my basket. The burrito was wrapped in foil, so I was able to enjoy that, but I did not eat the counter chips.
