Years ago the park ranger would enforce the rules and close the road after 10pm so cars dont drive by. it was complete chaos. people just did what they wanted. drunk people walking around peoples campsites when sleeping. vomiting everywhere. the day use area had parties till 2am and it even said its closed at 8pm but the gates werent closed like they are supposed to. im never coming back here again and Ive been going here since the 80's. its to bad this used to be an amazing camping site.

There were a couple of leveled spots for tents. There was a little road noise from the highway behind and above us, but not too bad. Since we were at the top of the loop, everything was below us so we had a nice view. The bathrooms have running water, and flush toilets. There are showers on the other side of the building. The bathrooms were decently clean, but, since we were staying AFTER the main season, the showers had become a back burner item. Wear your flip flops in there !!! The rangers drove by several times a day, but were basically useless. The people next to us had 6 cars parked in and near their campsite, sometimes partially blocking the road. The ranger just drove right by. Overall a pleasant stay, but I hope the open up Bushay next year!

The hot tub monitor looked after the tub every day we there ensuring water quality and chemicals were exactly as they should be (we had one of the hope tub camps). Hiking, disc golf and an absolute classic old school pee wee golf course was clean and well maintained. Really had fun playing the 18 holes. Public clear water pool and hot tub. The little store is great with many necessities on hand. Well stocked with many things. The Arcade was ridiculous. 6 of the exact. same stuffed animal machines only there to take money. Can't wait till they upgrade it as it will be great when they do The only racecar machine was out of order. Really cool old town buildings. It's got tent, partial and full pull through hookup camp for any size campers or trailers. Public bathrooms, showers, dish wash station and laundry rooms were immaculate They also have a dump station. The grounds include a Skunk train station which is a Must do activity. We're going back for sure. Love it. Oh yeh. If you have an RC Car they have an amazing RC course which is very cool. Having younger kids (grands) and others in our group we love the exclusiveness of the resort. We've met some of the same guests year after year. It's so tranquil and peaceful, just what a vacation should be. The kids love the swimming area, the cabins a yurts are always clean. We fish, we rent a boat, we've seen bald eagles, osprey and the kid's favorite, turtles. It's a dog friendly resort, which is one of the main reasons for loving The Narrows.

Montgomery Woods State Natural Reserve is such a beautiful and peaceful place. We came for a little…read morehike and had a great time exploring the trails and scenery. There are plenty of relaxing spots to stop, hang out, and take in the quiet nature around you. We even spotted some newts along the way, which was such a fun surprise. There was some construction happening during our visit, so it wasn't quite as peaceful as usual, but the workers were extremely friendly and respectful, which definitely made up for it. The trails are well-kept, the air feels so fresh, and the setting is perfect for anyone who loves nature, photos, or just getting away for a bit. Overall, a really lovely experience. Good time all around and we would absolutely come again :)

The roads were a bit bumpy but nothing we couldn't handle. Restrooms were well maintained. We didn't use the showers, but it was nice knowing we had the option if needed... and it seemed like they were nice and hot since other guests were using them and the mirrors were fogging up (not complaining). We did notice a lot of brush piles, so hopefully they are actively taking care of the forest to prevent forest fires. Loved that we weren't too far from the beaches and enjoyed a day at Fort Bragg. We will definitely return.

Come early and enjoy a beautiful hike in the redwoods with barely a crowd! Morning drive to Mendocino made us make a pit stop at Hendy Woods State Park as we heard there were beautiful spots of Redwoods that we must check out before going on our way. Pay fee was $8 dollars to get in which wasn't the worst but as we kept driving, we got a little worried about where the Redwoods were as a portion of the drive looked pretty sparse & dry. But worry not, once we got very deep into the drive near the end where the hike begins, the trees started popping up everywhere! Trail was clean and so much greenery everywhere, from the tall Redwoods to the short ferns growing all over the place. We stumbled upon a massive felled Redwood tree which was perfect for photo captures. This place is a perfect spot to stop by if you want to spend a couple of hours soaking in the fresh air and nature!
