My wife and i has such a great time here. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The crew and ladies are Super nice and were helpful in every way. Special shout out to Louie for his continuous work ethic. We saw him getting things done no matter where we were on the site, ALWAYS. The hot tub monitor looked after the tub every day we there ensuring water quality and chemicals were exactly as they should be (we had one of the hope tub camps). Hiking, disc golf and an absolute classic old school pee wee golf course was clean and well maintained. Really had fun playing the 18 holes. Public clear water pool and hot tub. The little store is great with many necessities on hand. Well stocked with many things. The Arcade was ridiculous. 6 of the exact. same stuffed animal machines only there to take money. Can't wait till they upgrade it as it will be great when they do The only racecar machine was out of order. Really cool old town buildings. It's got tent, partial and full pull through hookup camp for any size campers or trailers. Public bathrooms, showers, dish wash station and laundry rooms were immaculate They also have a dump station. The grounds include a Skunk train station which is a Must do activity. We're going back for sure. Love it. Oh yeh. If you have an RC Car they have an amazing RC course which is very cool. I stayed here a week in a Class A motorhome. I had a wife, teenager, an 8-year old, and a Corgi. Everyone liked the experience. We plan to come back next year. Suggestions for improvements would be to just keep things maintained. Don't put a sign on something if it is broke, fix it. Way too many signs about everything. Make a disc golf map. Post the Skunk train schedule so we know when to go to the depot. Keep the mini-golf area nice. Make improvements. Actually put up a basketball hoop. Put up a volleyball net and weed the court. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to speak up about my recent experience. What was supposed to be a relaxing time turned into something deeply uncomfortable and unsafe. First, the presence of wasps was completely out of control. Swarms were everywhere, making it impossible to cook, eat, or even relax. Multiple people were stung, including myself, and nothing was done to address it. I couldn't even use the restroom without wasps flying under the door. They did come out to spray some vinegar, vanilla, and something else. None really worked. The fact that this has been allowed to get so bad shows a clear disregard for basic safety. Even worse was the hostile and racially charged environment. Some people were treated with respect and given freedom to be as loud and rowdy as they pleased, while others - especially people of color - were told to quiet down or faced unfair scrutiny. The double standard was blatant and offensive. There is no excuse for racism or negligence, and I hope the management takes this seriously. Until real changes are made, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. read more

Extremely Disappointed - Not Worth the Money I recently stayed at Mendocino Redwoods RV Resort in Willits, CA for four days with my kids and some friends. We were really looking forward to this trip and even paid extra for an upgraded tent site -- but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. From the start, our site was swarmed with bees, making it uncomfortable and even unsafe for the kids. We brought this up multiple times, and it wasn't addressed until the third time speaking with the owner. When they finally placed a trap, they put it right at our site, which actually attracted even more bees, and my kids ended up getting stung. The general condition of the campground was also very poor. Weeds were growing through all of the sports courts, rendering them unusable. I also found multiple screws in the gravel where cars drive -- a serious safety hazard. There is only one set of bathrooms to service the entire back half of the campground, and they're located closer to the cabins, which already have bathrooms, rather than the tent sites that actually need them. The pool was another major issue. The filter covers kept popping off when splashed, and I personally watched multiple children fall through them, getting scraped and gashed. When I brought this up to the owner, he brushed it off, told me I was lying, and said nothing would be done unless I called the health department to change the codes. I even suggested putting cones around the area for safety, and he responded that it would require "too many cones." To make matters worse, a large umbrella at the pool blew over in the wind, landing almost on to our group while we were sitting in the lounge chairs. It broke and we removed it from the base to prevent further injury. After reporting it to maintenance, they put it back up with a different base -- only for it to blow down again the next day. Eventually, the owner added a second base... and it still blew over. We asked if they could just remove it for safety, and were told no. The only positive thing I can say is that the front office staff were kind and tried to be helpful -- but their hands were clearly tied. The owners, on the other hand, were rude and dismissive of multiple serious concerns. I feel incredibly disappointed to have spent so much money on a trip we were excited for, only to be met with safety issues, poor maintenance, and unprofessional management. We will not be returning, and I would not recommend this campground to others. read more

Just returned from a fun & memorable family visit to Mendocino Redwoods RV Resort. Here's the tl;dr: We loved the property, our stay & the friendly, helpful staff. Everyone was consistently friendly & welcoming from beginning to end. Even while calling ahead to ask questions. Loved where it's located, how it's set up & run. Speaking with management, it's apparent they're prideful of the property & they're continuing to maintain & update it. They seem genuinely interested in providing a good experience to visitors. The campsites were spacious, level and well maintained. Water & power well appointed and reasonably private. This was our first trip of the 2025 Spring RV'ing season & our first time staying at this property. The Mrs. found it online while looking for a family friendly place, with easy access & to park our 30' RV trailer while hosting our adult children & our grandsons. This place checked all our needed boxes. We stayed in Site #69 which had a brand new hottub with a picnic table & umbrella on a nice concrete deck. There was a lot of privacy too. The wi-fi was solid throughout the park. When I mentioned that to the staff, we were told they recently upgraded the mesh system throughout the resort. We enjoyed hiking, fishing, playing horseshoes, mini golf & playing in the arcade. Mendocino Redwoods RV Resort is underrated & at the top of our list of places to stay! read more

I've been to plenty of campgrounds tent camping in my life. This our first time RV camping. I absolutely love their facilities. I was worried about coming because of previous reviews. I'm still here, but I'm so impressed with their service and cleanliness that I had to leave this review right away! I am camping here Monday to Thursday so it's definitely quiet so I can't speak to how it is during the weekends. The folks at the front desk/registration were so nice and helpful! Fellow RV campers were friendly and neighborly as well. Kids loved the splash pad, pool and hot tub. Restrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen camping. I loved that they had a small dog park too! In response to the employee: The wasps are not being handled if they are still present with nests at a pavilion area. Trash was not left anywhere and we made sure to pick up all remnants. Our kids actually dropped something one day and we were actively standing over it attempting to shoo wasps when your employee came up and had the audacity to say we were feeding wasps. Is she blind or is that just the racism that we are so avidly directing your attention to??? At no point were any adults addressed by staff of anything that you speak of. The only address made to adults was to our elderly family members where they actually felt threatened by your residents approaching them with aggression in the dark. You say you stand by your integrity, there was none. I definitely stand by this review. And considering there are others shaming your efforts of keeping up your campgrounds before we ever visited I am sure whoever reads won't hesitate to think twice. My family and friends go camping every year, we like to visit new places and explore campgrounds that are family friendly. We wanted to love this place but it fell short of our expectations. The first issue was the wasps, out of control. There were wasps at the picnic pavilion that conveniently had electrical outlets, enticing our kids over just to get swarmed by wasps. We complained every day and it was addressed with vinegar and vanilla spray. The campground was confused why there were so many wasps traps around our tent sites... because they put them there? They were there upon arrival and the indignation of the campground staff was a bit beyond me. We were told to keep food away because they attract meat. So, we are camping but can't eat outdoors? We have kids at a supposedly kid friendly campground but the kids also cannot have food outside? We couldn't cook or eat without being swarmed and this employee claims there was trash left? We couldn't leave trash anywhere or we risked getting stung. We had 40+ people with kids and 2 dogs, 10 or more of us got stung at least once if not multiple times. Thank God we didn't have anyone allergic with us. The claims of the campgrounds are hilarious because we couldn't even let the dogs eat outside the tents or we would be swarmed. There's no way trash was left anywhere because we could not handle the wasps. And not once was this addressed to us as adults, the only things we heard were petty and sarcastic comments. Which leads into the real downfall of this campground, their racism. If you're white it's ok to be loud and disruptive but if you're black it's definitely a problem. 95% of our group was African American and boy were we treated as such. The first night we were simply told we were too loud from talking. We were just trying to feed our kids hotdogs after dark because the wasps were finally gone. But the next 3 nights the other camp sites were lively and never told to be quiet. Even after complaining the other sites were never warned or asked to lower their voices. We heard clapping and laughing late into the night. They had cute potential but fell super short. Waiting an hour to have the splash pad turned on and then seeing it up and running day after day for other people just showed why they were treating us the way they did. Pay close attention to the type of people saying this is a great place. Because they definitely hold a certain demographic. read more

My wife and I plus our kids stayed here for two days. It was fun! We had a cabin...pool was fun for the kids, the location is nice and the views were great. You're also very close to a Safeway if you need stuff. It has a splash pad and play area. I would say it just need some TLC. They just need to fix small things , but it was very clean and safe and everyone was very friendly (4.2 ) We would definitely come back next summer! read more

This is one of the most family friendly , RV park ever..... if you have a family, this is where you should go children love it adults enjoy it and I didn't see anybody that didn't have a good time...... there are all kinds of accommodations, little rental cabins, smaller rental apartment, type things, and RV and tent camping. The pool is full all the time on a nice day which everybody enjoys visiting and the children enjoy also The kids enjoy the recreation area with the toys on it playground and the splash pad. , anybody that had children I think, played miniature golf with them at some point that was great. And the evening watching 10to 12 kids going down to play baseball was just awesome. It just brought joy to your heart knowing that they had a place they could be safe and play together. Even if you don't have children, I'm sure you could enjoy it, but it makes it more enjoyable with watching children and having children there and lots of us grandparents had kids there We were going to stay one day and we decided to stay two days then we changed it to five days. It was amazing great place to stay and Oscar and Cari are great people. I can't say enough about this place. It was perfect for our month-long trip. read more

My husband, black lab and I have been long term residents here since March of this year. The RV park we had been living in for 3 years gave notice that they would be shutting down and we would need to move. I set out to explore several parks and when I walked through Mendocino Redwoods my first thought was, "this place is well-managed! I can tell from how tidy and clean it is!" And I wasn't wrong. From our space in the long term area we watch campers enjoying the trails, the bicycle race track, one of the playgrounds. Individuals and families participating in all this park has to offer including the pool, water spray area, miniature golf course, disc golf and catch and release fish pond. And the staff continues to manage it all with a smile. Imagine a team that is committed to managing over 100 spaces (tent, RV, cabin sites) to serve diverse campers enjoying their stay whether for a night, a weekend or longer. I imagine it to be a monumental task of triaging complaints from moment to moment to keep everyone happy. As a former business owner I also see campers carelessly avoid the campground speed limit of 5mph, leaving their trash on the ground, trash in the creek, and not picking up after their dogs as the plentiful signs request. It's rare, it happens. BUT! The maintenance team is ON IT! Trash cans are emptied regularly, and from one day to the next I see trash on the ground has been picked up by the maintenance crew. One aspect of enjoying outdoor activities is the wildlife. This includes yellow jackets and wasps. These stinkers are attracted to food, and with a lot of outdoor cooking going on in a concentrated space they can be plentiful in the summer. Smart campers know to avoid wearing perfume, aftershave, and clothing that has been laundered in perfumed detergent or fabric softeners. Bees, wasps, and yellow jackets love those flowery smells! We appreciate all that the management team here at MendoRedwoods do to make camping experience fun. Including the ice cream socials, music on the weekends, and movie nights. I have camped all over the west coast for over 40 years and I can honestly say this one of my favorite places, if I'm camping on my own or with the whole family. I say 5 stars for ALL of the following: Location: Not only are you nestled in between the trees and beautiful valleys giving you a genuine camping feel but you also have the convince of a Starbucks and Safeway 5 minutes away, that is if you didn't want to take advantage of the fully stocked convenience store at the onsite office. There is also a drop off ON LOCATION for the Skunk Train. Tent camper? Trailer camper? Cabin camper? Tiny home glamper? This place has got you covered. Amenities: There are several bathrooms onsite along with full bathrooms by the office that have showers. I was there during a holiday, fully booked weekend and never once waited in line. Again, they have an onsite store. They have ice cream socials, movie nights, very well maintained animal enclosures, a dog run, a mini golf area, pool, kiddie pool, cabanas, hot tub (also a few sites with hot tubs), bench swings on some sites, a kids jungle gym and naturally shaded splash area that were all extremely well maintained. I even heard campers shout at a passing employee at 9pm that they ran out of fire wood and the employee handed a bundle over to them on the spot and they could just charge it to their site like a luxury hotel! Staff: No matter the time of day there are always staff members around the property to help you. Whether they are in the office or out and about, I'm always seeing them interacting with the campers, improving the site, working as a team and always willing to lend a hand. I feel safe with my kids and grandkids here and that says a lot since we are not only all colors of the rainbow but part of that community as well. Just a PSA for those new to camping: Wilderness = bugs, dirt and wind. You're going to be around all sorts of people, different generations with different parenting skillsets and expectations. The resort has no control over these things. And if you're going to complain about the pool or bathrooms, you clearly have never REALLY been camping before. read more

This is such a fun and family friendly resort. There is plenty of things to do and the pool is very refreshing. I do think more shade at the pool area would be appropriate and also making the hot tub for adults only as the adults couldn't enjoy the hot tub because there were little kids in it the entire time. The play structures for the kids are great but the one at the back of the campground could use an upgrade and some shade as well. We stayed in a cabin for 2 nights and the cabin was well stocked, clean, and the AC kept us cool. Would stay again! read more

We stayed overnight on a trip. Exhausted. This is not what we call 'camping' but all the kids were having a blast! Seemed like several groups of younger people were meeting up at the campground. The sites are very close to one another leaving you no privacy. Now the good! Showers were excellent, clean and in good repair. The pool look gorgeous and several kids were totally enjoying it For a quick overnight stay we were very happy. We are older and don't have little ones so the extra amenities aren't for us. Very clean park and quiet at night. We would stay again if passing through. read more

We've been coming for a few years -- this year was hoping some of the clean up would be done. Our spot was not mowed. While we enjoy the hike to the pond and top of the hill, as usual no mowing has been done. If you do disc golf, good luck getting through the high weeds. At the top of the hill is a collapsed picnic table and the other picnic table is surrounded by high weeds. Then at the pond, there are about 5 junk piles -- suggestion would be to have control burns of these in the winter. read more

An epicenter for family fun is now a business-forward approach, sacrificing the family owned legacy of enjoying a simple weekend away and getting outdoors. Our group of family and friends booked a total of five cabins for the weekend to enjoy time together and celebrate our twin sons turning two. We planned to have five outside local families join for a two hour celebration at the picnic tables for sandwiches and cupcakes from 3-5pm. We have previously had a wonderful time at this location. Although many of the attractions advertised are worn down and need TLC (all of mini golf is peeling off, 100% gravel landscape, mini town is rundown and sun faded, playgrounds needing attention, the splash pad having exposed poles, and the arcade being inoperable) we were willing to look past those realities to host a family oriented simple celebration. We scavenged the website for rules, and procedures, and as you may have found too- their posted guidelines are ambiguous and general, leaving lots of gray area. So we called, multiple times. Once we finally connected with their staff, we learned that although visitors are welcome, there is a high price tag and visitors are only welcome on weekdays. Management specifically expressed that they do not advertise day use fees- which by the way are $15/adult and $12/child. That's $54 for a family of four to access the grounds, regardless of plans to use or not use facilities/amenities. Doing the math, paying for the $54 at five families totaled $270 for those children and their parents to join us for a 3-5pm celebration at the picnic tables. When we took into consideration that the five cabins brought about $3k to the resort alone, the $270 additional fees felt like an extra grab. Next we sat back and evaluated at a surface level. We couldn't justify bringing this income to a business who was not willing to be flexible. A two year old celebration at the picnic tables. Camping is an activity that historically reminds us of the human aspect and connection, but this reservation was nothing but trouble! A simple and fun idea had turned sour. Time and time again I see the management team respond to reviews with "I hope we can better serve you in the future" but unfortunately we won't be back. We plan to share our experience with other local families. We hope the management team reevaluates their approach and returns to a more flexible space for family and friends to gather. read more

5/5 Stars - A Wonderful Stay at Redwood RV Park (Willits, CA) We recently stayed at Deluxe Campsite 73 at Redwood RV Park in Willits, CA, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff truly made the stay special--Ashley and Estie were absolutely wonderful: friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. A special shout-out to Oscar, who clearly takes great pride in his work. He was out early each morning cleaning up the grounds quickly and thoroughly as campers headed out. It made such a difference to see the park so well cared for. The pool and hot tub area were another highlight--clean, well-maintained, and a perfect place to relax at the end of the day. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The park was peaceful, well-kept, and run by people who genuinely care. While the man made amenities are showing wear, the location, customer service, heated restrooms with no charge showers, rv hookups, and convienant dump station were a huge plus for us. Other than the wear all the grounds are well maintained. We joined our daughter's family for a relaxing family weekend and had just that. We stayed in the RV/trailer sites which were well maintaned and included electricity and water. The only negative for us was the low water pressure. The hiking trails and fishing pond provided a great adventure for us all (which included our two grandchildren -3 & 7 yrs old and their family's 3 dogs). The trails took us through rolling oak woodland & a beautiful forest complete with blankets of ferns (there is an extensive disc golf range, and a simple picnic area at the top of one rolling hill). We also enjoyed the playground area together. I especially enjoyed stopping on the bridge to the playground and listening to the creek which has a rich riparian habitat. All this peace with town just minutes away. The staff were welcoming and kept the restrooms clean and sanitized. A nice reprieve from our trailer's small restroom. The dump station is convenitently located on the way out. This was our second visit and we will definitely be back. read more

Ok so we have heard about this place and have driven by few times. So we were looking for a place to camp and the wife pick this place for a try. So glad she did it's not that far from us and is pretty much a straight shot. So it was great for the wife to have her pull the trailer for the first time. She did great by the way! We pulled in got our site and was pleasantly surprised it was mostly in the shade. It's so so hot the day 104. It was nice they had a pool. Me and I hit the pool up have a lot to do here also dog friendly. They have a bunch of animals and a little water park for kids. Also they have hiking trails and disc golf. The staff and people are so friendly. The wife and I will definitely be back for sure! It's nice to if you don't have a trailer they have nice cabins to rent! Cheers read more

Overcrowded, noisy, overpriced campground with tent sites and cabins on top of each other and absolutely no privacy. Terrible experience.

I've been here several times in the past couple years , the most recent being just last week. The place is very run down, to the point that the kids play area is pretty unsafe. They removed the smaller kids play structure so now the only option is a dingy bigger structure in the far back or the obstacle course that has limited seats and no shade. It's falling apart though and my 2 year old almost fell through a giant hole (almost the entire middle of it) leading up to the second story. They tried holding it together with a rope. Luckily my oldest son told me there was a big hole before anyone fell through. The rest is torn up, held with half broken zip ties and is just an accident waiting to happen. The petting zoo matches up with the way the rest looks and the goat kept trying to head butt all the kids with his horns. Overall, not a place I'd recommend to camp with my family. read more

After spending a good weekend here, it's time for a review. Bathrooms were clean. Campsite was clean, the amenities were run down. Volleyball had no net, overgrown with weeds. Disc golf course was unplayable, and RC course was overgrown and unplayable. The "petting zoo" was run down, it looks like they don't brush the animals or encourage petting. Splash park was off all weekend. Kids play structure had broken zip ties laying around, metal poking out. Some people were nice and considerate, yet some neighbors were smoking cigarettes right outside our window letting the smoke in to our new camper. read more
