An expansive park, filling blocks of space that includes pathways, a stream, a playground, play fields and tennis courts (?) and so much lovely nature. Our autumn walk was gloriously sunny and full of fall colors. It's lovely to be able to walk through a park on a break or time away from the nearby hospital and surrounding businesses. read more

Always a lovely spot for a picnic or a stroll for a bit of fresh air. I love seeing all of the squirrels (but please don't feed!). You can occasionally catch a Willamette soccer game on the field if you're lucky. There are several playgrounds for the littles to enjoy. Be sure to watch the paths, they get muddy at times. read more

I love Bush Park I come here to escape life besides Lincoln City Beach those are my two places that I go on this lonely dirt road and I love Bush Park it's always clean pristine they've even got a lot of the bad people out that used to come here they don't really like it's a really good place to come and hang out and there's so many drills like it's amazing if you are ever in Salem this is the number one place I would go and it's free Bush Park you should stop on and check it out I might be there walking my dog have a great day everybody read more

this is my favorite park in salem oregon great location and so many trails and places to see could use more bathrooms but overall it's the best park i salem and it's big big dogs are welcome and it's got a baseball field tennis tons of trails and a creek a bridge it's just the best park in my opinion they keep it pretty clean.infact many many years ago i got married here my eldest son and younger son have played at this park.the location is on point so if you have not been to bush park you should go and explore alone or with friends family or your furry pets. read more

When you visit this park, make sure you bring some peanuts for the ground squirrels to feast on! Squirrels in this park are like the chickens in Hawaii. There are lots of them, and they come up to you begging for food. The area was a pleasant place to walk. My only complaint was that the restrooms were lock! There are a few blooming flowers when we went. Azaleas, Rhododendrons, and by the time we got up the steps to the higher level, I could smell sweet scents of flowers, I wasn't sure what they were. I couldn't follow my nose, unless they were coming from the daffodils and from across the street. All the people that we met, wearing masks, it's still during the pandemic, were pleasant. There are a couple, like us, having a picnic in their car, enjoying and being entertained by the squirrels. Why, the negatives? The trees are wonderful to see, mostly bare leaves, there are many fallen trees that have been nicely cut & piled, but there are other long branches that still needed cleaning up. Come summer, when more flowers in bloom, I'm sure this park will meet 5 stars! read more

I love coming here. I come here all the time and feed the squirrels. They like strawberries and cherries so far. It's a really great park for a walk, run or if you have children or dogs. Everyone here is usually very friendly. Their is always city workers fixing things. There is a play ground and a couple gardens and really cool historical houses. There is also a college track that's locked. read more

My dog loves this park. Especially the lower part where all the ground squirrels are. She love chasing them around. We refer to it's as squirrel park. One star off for increasing number of vagrants sleeping in the park this year. read more

Very nice park located close to downtown Salem. Plenty of room, walking paths and shade. There are a lot of trees here creating a canopy of sorts. (Nice because it's been unseasonably hot in Salem lately) Great place to go for a walk or take a picnic lunch. There are a few tables available in some areas of the park. If you want some fresh air near downtown this is your place. read more

This park is seriously kick back. You can lay out a blanket in the rose garden, sit on a bench or eat lunch at a table in the shade like we did. Very nice on a sunny day. read more

This is an awesome place to go on a walk/run..I take my baby here a few times a week. Lots of different paths to walk, its huge. It's clean and they keep up on the grounds. They have a little playground in the middle that has swings & other play stuff. read more

This is a great park and Salem should be grateful to have it. There are lots of nice areas and things to do here. I think of the start of the park the area with the house. It was built by an early wealthy businessman. By it are lots of plantings including the rose garden with its gazebo and a little green house. Behind that is a barn wich houses an art gallery and classrooms where art is taught. There are paths throughout the park, I usually walk a loop. There are lots of old trees, pick nick tables, lawns to play games, playgrounds, or just wander and people watch. Salem is lucky its early leaders set aside such a great place. Tip. Try and time your visit for a tour of the house. read more

My favorite park Salem! I love that there are water fountains in all parts of the park. It has multi things to offer. Walking trails, swings, picnic tables, kid area, rose garden and plenty of benches throughout the park. I do however wish the on leash policy was unforced more. read more

The park is located several blocks south of downtown Salem in a friendly and safe area of town. The park is small but offers all kinds of options. A barkdust path encircles the park's perimeter (one lap = 1 mile). This is perfect running for and minimizing knee and back injuries. There are open fields for a pick-up game of frisbee, football or soccer. There are also two softball fields that can be reserved through the City of Salem. Paved paths in the park bring you to play structures, a babbling brook, a mini-apple orchard, an historic building (open to the public during designated hours), a gazebo, a rose garden and a variety of unique trees and shrubs. This is a great safe place to spend 10 minutes or 3 hours. read more

Beautiful park! With trails, a little creek, tennis court, swing set, benches, and bathrooms. This place is wonderful. The only negative is that it is close to downtown Salem which means there are some homeless people that like to sleep in bushes at night. So i'd only go during day time and bring someone with ya just as an extra precaution. ;) read more

I live near the park. it is one of my favorite places to take realatives in the summer. There rose gardens are beautiful. The gazebo in the middle is the perfect setting for wedding pictures with all the roses. It is a very clean park and very well maintained. read more

I know that the ice storm has really destroyed a lot of trees, but as far as parks go, this one is a huge amazing place to hang out with the family. The rose gardens are nice and there are many picnic areas to enjoy. The squirrels will eat right out of your hand here. Obviously the y have been fed well here. Lol read more

Is a great park in the city of Salem that well maintained and is beautiful. Special events to happen here like the Salem Arts Festival but you have to pay for it now and you didn't before. Yes there is screaming Owl here. And you can buy a copy of the sign that shows a screaming Owl. Beautiful little homes across the street from the park. Make it a point to stop by and check this place out read more

Best park in Salem. Anyone who doesn't agree must not visit parks very often. They must sit at home, in their basement, watching CNN while simultaneously checking the weather on their phone. read more

I've never liked this park. Its so creepy and you get this weird vibes in it. Ick. Seriously...I always try and stay away from this property. It's very large -- with trees all over the upper section. There are a lot of picnic tables up in the SW corner of the property -- so you see people using this during the summer months. The art fair also takes place here...but I don't think too much of that anyway. But back to the park...so go here if you're not getting creepy vibes...but stay away if you're like me and know better. read more

Wow, I love it here. I just went here for the Salem Art Fair. It's very big, and beautiful. And just blocks away from downtown, which I walked to and from Bush Park. Great place for a summer picnic. read more

Update: the main playground is brand new and very fun. despite the recent owls swooping people (don't go between dusk and dawn obvis.) it's a great place to walk, ride bikes, or play. read more

I use Bush's Pasture Park and surrounding areas for running whenever I'm visiting Salem. Distance is 1.42 miles for the loop. The loop has some hills to it as well. The park and nearby fields are heavily used and it's no wonder because it's a beautiful park. The course takes you through lots of mature trees, a stream, athletic fields, and gardens. About half the running course is in the shade. I highly recommend it if you want to run, walk, or just relax on the grass under a shady tree. read more

This park is much like Riverfront park with some great improvements…read more The fields are separated, so you need not worry about soccer / Frisbee clashes any longer, each can tourney in peace. The bark dusted playground has the duel play structures but also has swings, and a climbing rock. You'll find the same long smooth sidewalks and a covered pavilion about half the size of Riverfront's but you'll also find tennis and basketball courts here. The splash pad does not just spray up from the ground. It has pipes that mist in all directions and deluge you from above. It is a little bigger and has more fountain points to, so more children can play, and get a little more creative with it. This park really gets all classy with the planning, putting the splash pad in a place that doesn't creep into the shade, making sure there are trees by the playground so parents don't bake and the ace in the hole? That would be the ample parking that is not located a quarter mile from the playground! Get's an A+ from this mom. The one warning I have is that when the soccer games and birthdays fill the park, it brings the 1 lane traffic to a standstill. In that event park across the street at the Fred Meyer's or come back in an hour. It usually clears out fast.

This is a nice little park located north-west of Salem. It is easy to miss off of the highway and…read morethat is one of its best qualities in my mind. I drove by this little park several times and had no clue it was ever there. The actual name of the park is a Willamette Greenway. The park itself has a small parking lot. The trail starts from the parking lot and is gravel for some time. Eventually, it turns into a standard dirt trial. The trail makes a nice little loop that splits off after about 200 yards from the start. If you take a left you will go straight to the river and see a nice little bench that overlooks the river. The forest that this trail travels through is a mix of some broadleaf trees and some tall fir trees. It is an absolute beauty of a trial. The trail is very short, so if your looking for a long hike, be prepared to do some laps. If you have a dog, there does not appear to be any rules posted regarding leashes, but it's not a bad idea to bring one just in case. If you are north of Salem and looking for a nice little hike this is a great option, however not a very long trek!
