Very big bass I got a 15 pounder and it is really easy to catch you just have to go on the dock and cast out to the middle

Large, busy park with off-leash, fenced areas for dogs (big and small) with boat ramp access, nature trails and a sweeping frisbee golf course. Great place to bring the dog (please, clean up after yourself; there were several pet messes left behind by crummy pet-owners this weekend) or bring a human and have a picnic! There are some good spots for shore fishing if you don't have a boat, but wear some long pants because the brush and weeds can be pretty thick near the shore in the good spots. Great place to walk or just relax on a bench and watch the water go by! read more

Love this park. I run here all the time. Brings back nostalgia memories because we would do our cross country and track and field practices from McNary High School. In the summer months, it is always nice to go swimming & boating. Plenty of picnic seating & an amphitheater. The park closes at sundown. read more

A fantastic fully fenced, double-gated dog park (one for large dogs and another for small or shy ones). Some trees and shade, lots of grass, some gravel, all very dog-accommodating. The dogs and people were friendly and well behaved. There's plenty of parking, water, poo bag dispensers & trash cans, and a human restroom. The dog park is large and there is lots of room for dogs to run and play with others or with their people. Four paws up! read more

Something for everyone here at this park. Music at the Park Saturday's with a great amphitheater, sand courts for volleyball, playground area, trails, boat dock and picnic tables to hang out. Park is well maintained and in a great area with low traffic in. Ideal for the family and kids. read more

I find some, just some of the people, and this includes children accompanying adults, are unaware of common dog park rules. There are two gates for a reason. Keizer Rapids Park is listed on Yelp as a "dog park" and it is. Which made me and my 4-legged daughter quite happy when traveling through Keizer, Oregon in search of an off-leash area to play. The fenced off-leash dog park has few trees and even less shade, but plenty of open grassland plus 2 covered shelters. The dog area had more than enough space for her to run free and enjoy a beautiful Oregon day. However, Keizer Rapids Park is much more than just a dog park. There are softball fields, multi-use sports fields, covered shelters, the Keizer Rotary Amphitheater, a disc golf course, sand volleyball, ball courts, a BMX course, and several parking lots. All of it is right along the Willamette River with easy access from the park. Keizer Rapids Park seemed to be a safe and family-friendly place to bring your kids to play whether they have four legs or not. read more

Love the park but kind of annoyed by SOME of the people. I say some because the majority of people I have encountered at the park are super friendly and kind. I don't personally use the actual gated dog park but I do use the trails and I have seen people with their dogs constantly off leash. The park rules clearly state that if you're walking the trails you need to have your dog on a leash. I encountered one guy as I was leaving who had his dog off the leash and my dog wanted to approach in a playful manner. I let him know that my dog was friendly and he responded by saying "well I'm not really sure about my dog so you might want to keep your distance." Um excuse me? You're the one with the dog off leash in an area where they are supposed to be leashed up. Just want people to be aware if you plan on taking your dog there. read more

Great park! There is a playground for children, a boat ramp that you can lower your boat into, trails to run or walk, and an outdoor amphitheater that is used for many different occasions. The park is very kid friendly. The play structures were donated by the community and local businesses. Really safe for kids as well. Last summer I took my little cousins here to play and they loved it! Didn't want it to leave in the end. Also lots of other kids for them to play with which was nice. A picnic place is right next door so always user friendly. I always go trail running in the woods. Great paths for people to walk or run in. During the school year McNary will sometimes have cross country practice or meets here. Always fun to watch the local high school using the park. The dog park is amazing! Bring your dogs. Both small and large, there's places for both. Also there is grass! My two tiny family dogs like to run around here while I take them on walks. Great place to meet other dog lovers too if you're new to town. During the spring and summer there are a lot of festivals that go on in this park which is really great for the community! The amphitheater is used for concerts and sometimes theatre in the park. I saw a Shakespeare here on summer. Great place to relax and watch some good theatre. read more

What a lovely park! Met a friend here today- first time I've ever been! The dog park is nice, smaller than Minto, but it's fenced. This dog park has two separate spaces for large dogs and for small dogs to frolic. The few dog owners I met were friendly and understanding as my dog isn't that great with making dog friends. The trails were also nice, fairly short too. I will be back! read more

Best disc golf course in Salem, hands down. Easy enough to navigate with a stroller, lots of variety throughout the course (they even have a water shot), and HUGE. So big that you probably won't even see other players. The map listed on Capitol City Disc Golf's web page is NOT to scale, so you want to enter the very first path on your right when coming out of the parking lot. The only bad thing about this park is the confusing layout. We had no idea how to access the course. First we ended up at the dog park; then we parked at the boat launch parking. We had to walk through the first set of trees before we found a basket (and another parking area). Still not sure how to get to that parking place, but we'll figure it out next time. read more

We are on a road trip with our pup, and we had a lot of fun at this park! There are separate areas for large and small dogs, some shade structures, and drinking fountains for the pups. All the dogs and their owners were super nice, and the park was very well-maintained. A great stop! read more

My dog loves the dog area, she's part Greyhound and loves the big space to run. Today I had an encounter with a rude dog dad who called my dog dumb, but that definitely won't stop me from coming back. It is well maintained and is a great place to enjoy the sunshine. read more

I think this is the very first off-leash park I have ever taken my dogs that actually has grass. It's usually sand, gravel, bark, mud, or a sloppy mix of all of the above. Keizer Rapids has one area for the big dogs and another for little dogs. covered gazebo and several trees provide shade, and the very well manicured and maintained lawn keeps everything so clean for the pooches to really run and play. So far everyone and their dogs has been well behaved and mindful of aggressive behavior, very good about picking up after the dogs, and generally a friendly bunch. It's a bit farther away than one or 2 other off-leash parks for me, but with the fact that it is fenced in and so well maintined, well worth the short drive read more

Best dog park in the area. I come here frequently with my dog. It is sponsored by the local veterinary clinics. There are two fenced off areas, one for big dogs and one for small dogs. It's very clean, has nice/friendly people. The only thing I don't like is how families bring their kids into the dog pins, who chase the dogs around trying to pet them and give them treats. This is a safe place for big and small dogs to go, there is a play ground across the parking lot, put your kids there and out of the dog area. Not all dogs like kids and not all owners like that you feed their dogs without asking, so be mindful of that. read more

Great dog park with plenty of room to run! I appreciate that the entrance has two gates to keep dogs from escaping when others are entering or leaving. Just wish it had more benches but I don't mind bringing my own chair. It's nice to have a place for my baby to run to her heart's content. Plenty of parking and there is a water fountain for dogs. There are two parks in one. One for small dogs and a larger one for the big dogs. I highly recommend checking it out. read more
