On June 22, my better half, Zane Graham, requested a withdrawal from his 401k. He set up direct deposit, told that the funds should be deposited in 3-5 days. This is helpful, as we have recent surgical bills we need to pay. On June 29, we were told it took too long to verify his bank account (how hard can it be to make a phone call?) and that a paper check was sent instead, and to give it 10 days from the 22nd. On July 3rd, no check. We had to pay our rent, and we were short- thanks Fidelity. We called and we're told 10 BUSINESS days and to call back on Thursday- if it hadn't arrived, the rep said you could have it deposited direct. We gave it an extra day and called again Friday when it hadn't arrived. Here's where it gets interesting. The rep told us they could stop payment on the original, 2-day a replacement to arrive Tuesday, and that they could reverse the stop payment on the original if it arrived first. Original check arrived yesterday. Relieved, Zane called to reverse the stop payment. He was told they couldn't do that, and that the replacement had been sent already. Fuming, all we could do was wait to today- the replacement was sent Friday to arrive today. This morning Zane gets an email that the check has been accepted by UPS for delivery TOMORROW. Five days after promising the check was sent out. Let me break this down for you. We expected direct deposit before July 1st. Unless your technology is archaic, you can do direct deposit in minutes. It doesn't take 3 weeks for a paper to get to the other side of the country. Then several of your reps lied to us. And now our bank account is several hundred dollars in the hole, with overdraft fees from B of A piling up nearly hourly. And your reps made it our fault, somehow, and offered no solution. Requests for any kind of restitution or help have been ignored or met with lies. Our family needed this money. And Fidelity has better things to do than bother with things like integrity or honesty. If you're reading this review, withdraw every penny of your money and take it elsewhere.
