They don't return messages I left on their website form. If they are too busy or are not taking new clients, it'd be lovely if they had the courtesy to let folks know. I went to Lucas & Lucas for help setting up a new corporation. The staff was helpful and kind; they were able to schedule me in on almost a same-day basis. We reviewed my old corporation, and Gregory spent ample time educating me on the problems with my old corp and the benefits of setting up a new corporation "properly." I didn't fully grasp, at the time, the differences between a right and wrong corporation. He told me to go have dinner while the Lucas & Lucas team prepared and expedited my corporate documents. A few hours later--the documents were ready! He thoroughly reviewed with me how best to use the corporation. He also offered advice on a business idea. His input turned out to be 100% accurate (unfortunately, I neglected to take his advice and lost a lot of money in the process! Ouch! You were right!). I recently attended a real estate workshop that suggested certain language for setting up a corporation to best protect your assets. I went home and carefully reviewed the bylaws that Lucas & Lucas wrote for me. I was so pleased to find the suggested language AND so much more. I never imagined that a piece of paper could make me feel safe! But these guys nailed it. Greg Lucas and his firm have been a law practice in Bellevue for over 25 years and I've known him almost as long. He is in a tough business and the disappointment some find I'm sure is a result of the field of play. The games attorneys put on opposing counsel, the rules of the Courts, and the journey for financial recovery or worse put quite a spin on people engaging in the process. His firm has always had an aggressive yet warm hospitable character. I can't imagine surviving the field for 10 years let alone 25 with anything approaching a touchy-feely approach. The facts are that law process in the U.S. is not cheap and can be quite expensive, all the way around. It's too bad that it is like that but engaging in it and observing the activities of others confirms it to me. You are likely to benefit from having clear objectives and being helpful with information. Perhaps a touch of reasonableness is good too but I'm not holding my breath on that one - the environment seems to militate against it. I don't do such thing as a review, but this company or attorney made an exception to my history. Watch out for his service and Invoice charge. This is NOT the place to consider for services.-- Just don't want other people to go through/ suffer the hassel and rough time I went through .. 1) Exaggerate your small service request to a large case in order to charge more for the hours he can spend on, especially when you are new to the field or topic. Watch out !! - Don't use his service unless he can tell you how much total charge or estimate will be.- Be sure to put ini writing... You would likely end up spending thousands of $$ for the work that may only cost few hundreds by another legal consulant or attorney. Likely due to his incapability or in-efficiency of handling cases, So at the end, you will be surprised by the final bill, and falling into a deep hole of huge and uncertainty of charge. Nevertheless, he billed his client for an error made by himself for close-to-a-hour time charge.- Could you believe that he wants his client to pay $$ for his own mistake? Falsely charge on an invoice !! 2) He does not honor his own statement /footnotes disclosed to the public on his invoice. If an attorney does not even honor his own words on his own company statement or invoice, how could a client count on his words or his work? If you have questions about the invoice charge, he would not have the patience to explain in items or details, and would turn a client to a collection agency upon 1st-time invoice (1st billing cycle) even a client just having questions of how the invoice charges details and wanting to pay a correct amount. 3) Poor customer or client service. Difficult or bad in communication. The attorney may not appreciate client's as his business... As a client, you felt like your client status is not appreciated. How could you trust or use his service again? Not because he is an attorney, so he could do whatever he wants, and charge whatever he wants. He acted like a dictator in this case !! Is there an lawyer auditing system. He will also accuse things that you were not and say story in favor of his side. It's stressful and a bad encounter.... Overall, give a red flag, -- (not to be hurt in money or emotion or falling into this swamp of ripping off and emotion stress.) There are some good attorneys out there, but definitely not this one who I had encountered. Not Even if you pay me to go. -- Just not worthy of peace disturbed and the harrassment by non-sense collection. Greg Lucas of Lucas and Lucas is a guy I came to know and trust the hard way. We were in the same business organization and had a conflict. We had different interests and different points of view. Boy, was I wary of being in conflict with a lawyer, especially one as sharp and incisive as Greg. In the course of resolving our issues (they weren't legal), I became aware that Greg did not overstate his position but argued forcefully. As important, he actually listened to my point of view. Because we both listened to each other, we were able to hear what was important to each of us and resolve our issues fairly and to both our satisfaction. When I later needed a lawyer, I called Greg because I knew I could trust him. He has been my lawyer for over 10 years now and have found him to be an excellent lawyer. While I've not always understood every charge, I've never had an explanation that I doubted once I understood. In my experience with him, his personal and professional integrity has been 100%. Some people associate the term lawyer with slippery. My experience of Greg is squeaky, as in squeaky clean. I would encourage the person who wrote the negative review below to really examine their assertions, assumptions and the story they've put together. From you story, it sounds like you received an invoice for charges you didn't expect and in disputing them went in for "the kill". While that might work for you in some instances, I'm sure it didn't work with him. I am sure that there may be explanations for charges you were billed. And, if you were willing to be open to another point of view than the one you've put together, perhaps you could learn Greg's point of view and he could hear yours and you might find some resolution. It is really a shame to post such a damning review against someone with a stellar reputation. And, I'm afraid that your rant make you look less than credible. We've all had conflicts and we all know what happens when one goes "off the deep end". While I'm sure one negative amongst a sea of positives will not hurt his reputation, nonetheless, it is a smudge on an otherwise spotless record. For your credibility, more so than for Greg's, do reconsider the language and the rating in your post. read more

We came to Lucas office early this year for a serious issue. I think people come to the attorney is to solve the issue they face, not to be complained about the things we had done. The attorney should listen to the client for the whole story and not make their own judgement before knowing the whole facts. However, what we got from Lucas is obviously not the way it should be. He did not listen the whole story, but make his own judgement. Even we tried to explain what was going on, he did not listen and kept asking some unrelated questions. At the end, we can't get any constructive advice from him and no answer from the key questions we asked. Very disappointed. read more
