We sat at the bar and Mike, our bartender was so much fun that we totally lost track of time! All the staff we met as they passed behind the bar were super nice and friendly. Food was very good and no one batted an eye when I asked for mayo for my fries. Seems that is a Canadian thing! We tried out several new beers (we had a designated driver) and went home with leftover chicken wings (in case we got stranded on the road in the storm?) Falls, schmalls...forget iconic natural wonders of the world! Next time we'll just head straight to Bugsy's for a good time! :)

Sat at the bar, really attentive bartenders both days. We had Alicia ( not sure of the spelling). Sean, Ashley, and HALEY! Everyone was so helpful, and friendly, moving a padded chair around to help with my old hips, and tuning into our fave football team. The food was really good. We had garlic toast with cheese and bacon, the best Caesar salad I had the whole week we have been here, the bacon cheeseburger with onion straws, ribs, chicken wings, and the yummy fish and chips ( crusted with salt and vinegar chips!). Loved chatting with all the bar staff,and felt very well taken care of. The food was delicious, the service even better! After consulting our online apps, we stopped for lunch at The Fool & Flagon pub. Our light meal consisted of a Scotch Egg, French Onion Soup, Fish & Chips, and Shepherd's Pie. The food and service were all pretty good, with generous portions. The Scotch Egg was perfectly cooked, with a nice runny yolk and crispy crust. The French Onion Soup was topped with lots of gooey cheese. The Fish 'n' Chips was ordered with two pieces of fish for sharing. It was also quite nicely done and came with a generous amount of tartar sauce, which is rare. The Shepherd's Pie was very good, perhaps one of the best I've had from a restaurant! In the past few months something has changed. The portions seem smaller and the food just isn't hot or well prepared. This has been our experience on our last three visits. The last time we were there we had food taken off our bill because it was really that unsatisfactory. Tonight I had the Sante Fe chicken dinner which is freshly battered and fried chicken breast tenders. The chicken was barely luke warm when it got to me and the portion was probably half of what it had been. The chicken was not crispy on the outside (like it had been in the past when we first started coming there) and there was very little buffalo sauce. The strange thing about this is the last time we went in the exact situation happened and the chicken had to be sent back. The last time they made fresh chicken, this time it tasted like it had been microwaved and sauce splashed on it. We are actually quite upset that we have had so many negative experiences here in the last few months because this really was our favourite local restaurant. We likely will not be back. Something has changed here and in my opinion if it isn't rectified they will lose other regular customers.
