Vacationing in Niagara Falls, went to Kelsey's on Clifton Hill. The food was amazing, the service even better! We actually ate there two days in a row. Sat at the bar, really attentive bartenders both days. We had Alicia ( not sure of the spelling). Sean, Ashley, and HALEY! Everyone was so helpful, and friendly, moving a padded chair around to help with my old hips, and tuning into our fave football team. The food was really good. We had garlic toast with cheese and bacon, the best Caesar salad I had the whole week we have been here, the bacon cheeseburger with onion straws, ribs, chicken wings, and the yummy fish and chips ( crusted with salt and vinegar chips!). Loved chatting with all the bar staff,and felt very well taken care of. The food was delicious, the service even better! Great location for when you're walking about and want some pub food! Had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It was to BIG pieces on a bun with all thr trimmings! It was definitely not the American version, but it was still yummy. Angry fries are, well, fries with Cajun season. We stop here every time we come to Clifton hill. The service is always good and the prices are typical. Be careful it can get a little crowded and busy. Love how the sides of the building open up to a view to people watch. read more

Can't give this place any less than 5 stars based on the service alone. For a chain restaurant Kelsey's is actually really good. Their menu has options for everyone. I ordered a wrap with chicken and it was yummy. Their fries are delicious as well. We had waited just a while for our food when the manager-I'm assuming-came over to let us know he thinks we had waited too long and would like to give us a free dessert. Amazing. For dessert we got a cookie sandwich with ice cream. Can't go wrong there. I do like this location, and I would come back. read more

This is not the first time I'm giving a Canadian restaurant chain 5 starts and it might now even be the last time, who knows? But this is a review well worth the 5 starts I'm giving them. We ended up coming to Kelsey's on Sunday while driving up to Toronto. The place wasn't packed when we came in around 1:30PM which was perfect for us. It's set up like a typical chain establishment and offers plenty of seating and a nice look to the place. The menu here is pretty huge and offers everything a casual Canadian place will have. I originally came because I wanted to try one of the big burgers they had but ended up sinking my teeth into the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy (mmmmmmmm). About 15 minutes after we placed our orders the manager came to our table to apologize for the wait and even for us a free dessert on the house! I did not think the wait was too long, but I also wasn't going to turn down a double cookie sandwich. The meal itself was delicious. The breading has its own unique twist, the chicken was juicy, and the potatoes were fantastic too. The dessert we got was also great! The cookies were hot and mushy so even though we had to eat it with forks we certainly enjoyed doing so. Overall, Kelsey's was a great experience and I would absolutely come back here again. Highly recommend giving them a shot if you haven't already! read more

One small mistake that really wasn't a big deal was dealt as if it was one. Manager personally apologized and gave us a ticket for a free desert, and a free four cheese spinach dip. Where to start? Nice greeting at the door and seated promptly. Well started looking at the menu and was disappointed that there were only sirloin steaks offered. What a severe disappointment. Was really hoping for prime rib. I ordered the nachos based on the picture in the menu and asked the server if it actually came looking like that. She said yes. Great. Time to give them a try. When they arrived at the table I was delighted to see a beautiful large plate of nachos. I dug in for all it was worth. I was damn hungry. Well happiness came to a crashing halt. The first bite had meat. Where is the rest of the meat. I kept eating and looking for meat. Eventually I found one or two more chips with meat. The rest of the whole LARGE serving was chips and veggies. Disappointed. The rest was great. The service was top-notch except for one thing...Please tell your servers and hostesses that wearing scented material is an absolute NO-NO. NO PERFUMES, ETC. A well trained restaurant employee WILL know that the sense of smell is directly connected to the sense of taste. That being said, I would like to say thank you to the cute hostess with the nice floral smell to her for making my meal taste like it was topped with a nice floral bouquet. Wow! This place was very good. My girlfriend and I were in town and wanted to try somewhere different and we stumbled upon this place . I ended up getting pulled pork tacos and the flavors in it were delicious and mixed together very well, especially with an apple butter bbq sauce. I've only been here once. The service is okay some of the servers look like they want to be the but once again understandable since it is a job. Food was decent I've had better. One thing I would like to say is that if you want to be adventurous and order some of those fruity alcoholic drink ... don't ... they taste like water with food colouring and have no taste of alcohol in them that I could taste in my opinion. If you want a little luck stick to your classics such as srewdriver, Long Island iced tea and such. Wouldn't recommend to go back. read more

The service here is terrible. Our server and the manager on shift were both extremely rude to my boyfriend and I. We both had multiple forms of id from America stating were of age to drink. I know I have a baby face and I look young but I am 21 years old, as both of my ids state. They refused to serve me alcohol. They weren't "comfortable" to serve me alcohol, because my Arizona drivers license doesn't expire until 2063. The server had the audacity to tell me that "every United States Id expires in five years". My Arizona drivers license will expire on my 65th birthday, we tried telling them that but they still refused. That's the point when we walked out and went somewhere else that had no problem serving me alcohol. read more

First time I've been to this location, actually, first time I've dined in Thorold. I had an amazing experience here. We were a group of 9 people to celebrate my cousin's 23 birthday. We didn't have to make a reservation and the staff accommodated us by combining 3 tables. Our server, Janice was spectacular, very charismatic, and helpful, and made the night that much more enjoyable. I ordered the starter of the chicken fingers encrusted with cool ranch dorrito's (there's a meal size version as well). They were so tasty! For the main, I opted for one of their specials, a steak accompanied with fries covered in sautéed onions and sauce. Amazing as well! Since it was a birthday dinner, Janice brought out complimentary dessert for our entire table! Vanilla ice cream with funnel cake fries that had a caramel topping.....so warm and fresh, it was quite the surprise :) There are alsoo a number of tv's around the walls of the restaurant, making it perfect if you're looking to watch a sports game while dining. Very much a bland chain restaurant. One of the first things you're hit with are the massive amounts of calories listed on all of the menu items and there really is no healthy choice. Drinks were ok tasting but very light on the liquor. Service was not phenomenal and the waitress was struggling with what we requested... We wound up here because it was a Sunday and other places were closed on the way to the airport so it served its purpose but I would not seek it out again. read more

I went to Kelsey's with my friends and had an amazing waitress, however, the food wasn't very good. Kelsey's famous spinach dip was extremely watery..... As for the entree, The gravy was extremely bland ruining the overall taste of the poutine. The waitress brought my friend a new poutine after she complained, but there was no saving the gravy with the poutine just being remade. I ordered a chicken sandwich with a baked potato, I waited 12 extra minutes for my entree, as opposed to everyone else. When it arrived I ate my burger first, a few minutes later, the waitress asked how my baked potato was, I answered good. I then realized I didn't even try my baked potato yet, I took a bite and came to realize that it was undercooked. The waitress commented that the kitchen was new staff, so I will give this Kelsey's a second chance. read more

The new Kelsey's was okay, but honestly not what we were expecting. We used to visit the original style Kelsey's restaurant for years as a family before it was turned into "Kelsey's Original Roadhouse". We got the fish and chips, the chicken Parmesan and the salmon. We asked for two orders of cream soda and a root beer through our meal. The server came back and asked us what shot of liquor we wanted in our drink (?). We both said we just wanted cream soda, no alcohol. 5-7 minutes later he comes with the two bottles of soda and two, one with ice cream. He let us know that he only has enough vanilla ice cream for one float and asked if one of us wanted chocolate. We explained we didn't want ice cream for either.. we just wanted the soda. He left with the cups and the soda. We never got a glass for the drink and we never got the root beer at all. When ordering dessert for the birthday, he couldn't make anything because there was no vanilla ice cream left. We had to change the bill twice because he forgot the root beer, and then tried to charge us for it. The fish and chips were just O.K. Even though the portion was huge. The salmon was also subpar but the portion that was received was insanely small compared to the fish and chips dinners. The chicken Parm was the only thing that was acceptable on the table. I don't think we will return to Kelsey's again, unfortunately. read more

Went there last Saturday for lunch. The food was good and the service was good but that's as far as it went. They changed the menu, no daily specials and the presentation of food has went down hill. To pricey for lunch too, we did get beers but $45 for lunch was a shock Its just not what it used to be. Not sure if I will go back for a while. I just got back from Kelseys with my Fiance. Firstly our waitress was quite rude to him and then she made us switch seats for no apparent reason. We ordered our drinks and appetizer and the app took forever to get to us. I ordered chicken alfredo and it was very gross and tasted nothing like chicken alfredo and he ordered some chicken wrap. He ate 1/4 of it and then ran to the bathroom to throw up. I also got a peach mango lemonade and it was sadly not very good. I brought my 5 young kids and was upset to sea the family restaurant isn't for families. Bad move Kelsey's. This was one of our favourite restaurants. We usually spend around 200 with tip.
